Noticed from the reports on the ships ex UK most guest if not all  entertainment is solo acts doing multiple shows

    Easier to contain and replace.

We were on Enchanted last week 7 night cruise from Southampton and had 2 big production shows as well as guest comedians on the other nights ( it was a comedy themed cruise)

The theatre was full every night!

  2. Slightly off topic, but what did you think of Enchanted? Any highlights on the cruise?

We really enjoyed the cruise the ship is beautiful. The entertainment was very good. We didn't try any speciality restaurants apart from Gigi's and found the pizza to be only average. Food in the MDR was ok but nothing special. Took advantage of the drinks package and tried a lot of cocktails!🙂

Unfortunately both my husband and myself have tested positive for Covid since arriving home. He didn't feel to good on the way home and tested positive on Saturday and myself yesterday.

We didn't hear of any cases whilst on the ship.

Where can you see which Board Group you are on?  I did the check-in and requested 11.00 - 11.30 but I can't see it confirmed anywhere on my documentation.

We were on Enchanted last week and had 11.00-11.30 arrival time and ours said Group A on the app next to green lane on the front page when opened. We were on the ship by 11.20!

  4. Are you sailing from Southampton? We found that if the majority of passengers are British the dress tends to be more formal even on casual nights but not as formal as Cunard very few men wore jackets. When we did a British Isles cruise most of the passengers were from US and the dress was very casual.

The problem is the PDF format. Princess don't seem to be able to recognise it and the document has to be in a Jpeg format. I had the same issue when trying to upload mine and my husbands NHS certs for our up coming  July cruise. In the end i had to take a screen shot of the booster page. I managed to get that to upload but it still shows pending... I have a printed copy i plan on taking with us just in case.

I am wondering though what is going to happen when i try to upload the test cert required before boarding.

    Happy sailing x Jules

We are on Enchanted 24th June and I haven't been able to upload vaccination certificates (we don't have a card in UK) there are 3 of them one each for 1st and 2nd vaccinations and another for the booster. As we are already showing as 'green lane'I have decided not to bother trying anymore and just take printed copies with us and same for the test certificate.

  6. Can I ask how many formal nights there were on your cruise,?

We are doing the same 7 night itinerary but on Enchanted 24th June and our travel summary says 2 formal.

On our last 7 night cruise on Sky there was only 1 even though the travel summary stated 2. I think it was because the 2nd sea day was the last day and formal night isnt usually held on the final night.

    Many thanks

Thanks sammybonny I followed your advice and it worked perfectly!

So glad it worked for you. It was pure luck that I tried it. Its about time they sorted the app out though ...no improvement since our cruise last September.

Anyway one less thing to worry about now!

Can you please advise if on the Sky from UK  there is a percentage charge for using a credit card for your account but none on a debit card?  Thanks

No there wasn't a charge for using a credit card to pay the account when we were on Sky from the  UK a few months ago. I think these charges were stopped a few years ago.

  9. I am also in the UK and wasn't able to make reservations on the app either. I got as far as choosing times but kept getting an 'error has occurred' message or nothing happened at all when I went to confirm button.

I phoned Princess and they said no problem we can do it for you....no they couldn't.. they managed to book for the first night and then they also got error message same as me. They said it would be escalated and to try again in a few days.

Later I tried again and still not working so I decided to try booking a different much earlier time than I wanted and it worked! There is then an option to edit reservation and I chose the time I really  wanted and it changed to it. I had to do it separately for each day but we are all booked in now!

Good luck.. the app is a pain... mine keeps changing me from green to yellow lane and back again!

  10. We are on Enchanted next month. I have been trying to make our dining reservations on the app but it hasn't been working for the last week. Anyone else had any problems?

I dont really want to wait until we get on the ship and then be unable to choose a dining time as we don't like eating too early.

  11. Unless things have changed since the end of September when we were on Sky,  the testing at the Mayflower terminal is only for passengers arriving in their own car and is a drive through,  we were done in less than 10 mins. Results were through in 20mins. We then drove to Ocean terminal to drop off car. It was the only ship leaving that day.

Passengers arriving on foot or by taxi were tested at Ocean terminal and waited for their results in the terminal.

We noticed that fresh fruit is meant to be available on request when in mini-suites... is this still available or has it gone due to covid?

Do you also get champagne to welcome you on board?

Sailing next week on Sky from Southampton.

We were on Sky 2 weeks ago no champagne to welcome us onboard but our stateroom attendant brought us a glass when we arrived in the cabin...not needed really as we had princess plus. We were in a mini suite but didn't request fruit so don't know if it was available but steward didn't mention it.

I have noticed blocks of state rooms not showing up in the booking system online.

They are not marked as sold out. Just not shown at all. Not sure if they are being held back until the pandemic situation improves or if they are blocks that have been chartered

I think they are booking cabins in blocks so that they are all together and not dotted around so making servicing them easier for the cabin stewards without large gaps of unused cabins.

  14. We were on Sky (so almost the same as Majestic)  last week and there were only 1295 passengers! Service as you would expect was very good,  no need to use app to order drinks because there were so many waiters about and they were  asking if you wanted another drink before finishing the first one. The medallion readers weren't working a lot of the time and just asked for cabin number.

One of the MDR was closed and half of the buffet. No problem getting a table. On the sea days the weather wasn't very good so most people inside but no problem getting a quiet seat if you wanted one....it was like being on a private yacht with most lounges empty. We had lunch in the MDR one day and there were more waiters than passengers.

No social distancing in the theatre and it seemed very strange with so many empty seats for the popular shows and just a handful of people for the not so popular ones.

  15. Dress codes can be found on the travel summary on your account on the website along with itinerary and payment details etc and luggage tags. This isnt on the app. Ours was a 7 night British isles cruise and it said there would be 2 formal nights but there was infact only one for some reason. On the only formal night held we were pleasantly surprised most people stuck to the code, many in dinner suits and long dresses.

This I prefer. I want to actually sit at the bar. Unfortunately, I've heard from other the UK passengers that you cannot sit at the bar and can only sit in certain areas in the lounges. Hopefully this rule changes before Regal and Sky come back to the US.

Whilst on Sky last week people were sitting at the bar and being served in Crown Grill bar but there were signs on other bars saying no service.

They'll deliver drinks to your cabin - no problem.  The main issue is whether or not the cost of those room service drinks will appear in your folio.

I don't know if the terms and conditions are different in the UK but they dont mention room service being excluded on the website. When you order via the app if tells you how much you will pay before completing the order. I dont know if you are charged differently if you dont use the app (which just delivers to wherever your location is anywhere on the ship) and phone room service instead. We  ordered via the app when in the cabin ordering only one drink each and didn't have to pay anything extra.
