  1. I am traveling with family who have some significant medical issues that limit their mobility. Neither are in wheelchairs; however, both cannot make the normal bording process. Will they be treated to the same bording process as those in wheelchairs?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. And the Crown is the one with the worst broken beds at sea.

Had 28 days of misery (even with two egg crates) in October. The bed had a huge hole in middle.

Now just got off the Crown for a 4 day and bed had a pillowtop over mattress and it was fine. Still hard but not broken. Can't wait to see what new mattresses will be like.

People of all weights and sizes occupy beds weekly. I think it is a cruise lines responsibility to have good support for all passengers .At least have beds that don't break.

What staterooms did you have? I am booked in September and would hate to get a bed with a hole in it!

  3. Hello, 17th cruise but 1st time cruise on Princess. Sailing on Ruby Feb 7th, and noticed I am 123 in the wait list for 600pm dining. Looking for advice, what are the chances of getting that dinning time? If it's not available what does the cruise line default to? Also have never used my time dinning, is there typically a wait to be seated? Appreciate the advice, Thank you

It will most likely default to anytime dining. They are pretty good at getting you seated in a timely manner without much of a wait If you are a smaller party. :)

  4. Lovetwocruz,

Here are my two cents - mostly in line with the other responses... I agree that once you get to the glacier, the top deck is where it's at; however, the scenic cruising while getting to the glacier takes a while and I love to enjoy that on my balcony... I like the staterooms on Caribe due to the large deck that is half covered and have open. Makes it nice to sightsee even in inclement weather, for which Alaska is well-renowned to have at any time. Also, we tuck our chairs under the covered portion to keep them dry (works sometimes).

In regards to port or starboard sides... My preference is port side on the round trip Alaskan cruise... Only because in most ports (minus Seattle & Victoria), you're docked on the starboard side. We enjoy watching the float planes taking off and other marine traffic while in port. Now, I am not guaranteeing that the ship won't dock on the port side; I've just experienced that it's docked on the starboard side more often. Now if you want to watch the port happenings, starboard is where it's at! ;)

    Hope this helped. :)

Aft cabins are always sought after ...

    Hey Cruise Raider,

Why would the aft be more sought after? Just curious....

  5. You used to be able to pre-book excursions and only pay for them onboard.

    Has that changed?

I broke down and called Princess... It all depends on where you are sailing. If you are sailing to Alaska, like I am, the OBC does not work for pre-booked excursions; however, you can book once you are on board and use the OBC. Mystery solved. Still, kind of frustrating.

I think we will just book the excursions that we REALLY want to do and play the rest by ear and have an adventure! :)

  6. They can be used for excursions' date=' tips, spa, photos, shopping, virtually everything and anything that you might charge on the ship. If you plan to buy a beverage package or sticker, wait and purchase that on the ship and use the OBC. If you buy something that you pay for in advance, no the OBC will not apply. But if you pay for it on the ship, it will. So unless you are getting a discount for advanced purchase, wait and use the OBC toward it.[/quote']

    Moki'sMommy,

So, that means it cannot be used towards pre-paid excursions. :(

That's what I needed to know - Much appreciated!

    THANKS! :)

  7. Greetings Fellow Cruisers,

I just booked an Alaskan Cruise departing in September of 2016! This will be our second Alaskan cruise and we couldn't be more thrilled! We were lucky and received several OBC incentives; however, I have some questions surrounding their usage.

Specifically, can they be used for Pre-booked excursions, or things like Bingo (I know it can't be used for the casino).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    RossaMoretta
