  1. On Emerald, deck 10 has more machines. Plus launderette doors on both sides. When I went down to deck 9 because it’s aft, the door only opened from one side and less machines. And the token machine was out of order.
Another tip: on deck 10, at least the machines on the far right (looking at them) the dryer will restart as you open the door. They all may, I just used those; they were different brands. Deck 10 has twice the number of irons also.

do you get to pick when booked?  or assigned

Because of CC, when we got on board we went to the excursion desk and requested #8. They are supposed to be assigned in order of when you arrive on the beach but they had us down for #8 so it worked to request it. 7-10  to me were the best locations.

  3. Check the deck below or above. The laundry on the deck below was aft so it was a quick walk down a flight of steps versus our deck laundry room that was a long walk. I set my phone alarm and left it. There is a sign with approximate times. However there are chairs and a tv.

  4. Tito’s with club soda and limes. Champagne is an option as it is lower in carbs than most wines.

IC does have sugar free flavor syrup. I had to partake in a splash with heavy cream in regular coffee. Let them know you only want a splash as the sugar free doesn’t have a pump to dispense.

  5. Gastropub is different. It’s at the Wheelhouse bar. The problem was it took us almost 3 hours to eat and it was served lukewarm at best. Would have been good if served hot. They were extremely slow.

Planks- pulled pork and brisket. They brought cole slaw but I couldn’t eat it because it was carrot salad not cole slaw that I know. The meat was tender and had a great flavor. My DH got the ribs and said they were good. We ordered extra sausage and it was good. It was a nice as it is so different to any other restaurant.

  6. I sail trying to keep my carbs around 35 grams per day.  I was able to cut carbs out of every meal and never had an issue with my requests while ordering. Added broccoli instead of potatoes, extra salad over main course, or mixed and match items from the menu. At Planks, I was able to get the meat without any sauce or sides. At Gastropub they made me a side salad without asking when I asked for my burger without the bun and no sides. It was a nice touch. At scoops by the pool they don’t have it listed but they keep sugar free ice cream in the back freezer. You should also find a lot of fiber choices to help. And they can bring oil/vinegar for dressing.

  7. In June, we made reservations for all casual dining including Gastropub. It was not that good and wish we would have gone to Planks twice. This was on Emerald. We used the phone at the excursion desk as it was on the counter.  It was the first thing we did. I had a calendar ready for the dine line to book the dates and times we wanted for a table of 6. It was very fast. Then talked to the excursion desk about a change. Everything was done within 15mins to have a smooth start to our cruise.

  8. Not sure if each ship is different but I used the classes when I was on Emerald in June. I had premier so the classes were free. Not sure if 30.00 would have been worth it as the gym was nice and well equipped. The personal trainer (Dixon) was very good and gave tips to make it harder or easier. The classes were anywhere from 5 to 10 people.  They take place on an exercise floor in the open gym. Can you leave early? Sure but the classes were less than 45mins. They had classes starting at 730a. A few in the morning and a few in the evening. Yes, they had classes during sea days and port days. I know they had the 730a pilates everyday.

  9. We are sailing out of Copenhagen next summer and since we have some extra days off thought we may take a train into the city instead of flying directly there from the states. Is there a train route that you recommend that isn’t more than 6 or so hours? And where the train leaves from has an international airport.

  10. When I talked to the dine line, they asked if we wanted additional drinks with the champagne. I ordered martinis. I should have said with the appetizers. Instead they delivered the drinks with dessert. I also asked the assistant for coffee and they had it by the end of the meal. They took the drinks from our package.

We were able to change to this cabin. We were able to save 4000. and now our friends are going and will be near us.  I did read that deck 4 you can smell the kitchen. Is this true?

  12. On Emerald in June, the bartender would give 2 and one was unopened.

Once we started talking to another couple and didn’t go straight to our cabin so I took the unopened bottle to the bartender to open and he told me it was warm and got me another one. The staff were excellent and did it without expecting an extra tip.

  13. We had it during St Kitts sail away around 545p as we left at 6p. I requested steak with shrimp as I don’t care for lobster. It came with probably 8 shrimps. The food was very good. The photographer came without asking and with the sun behind us took 15 pictures. We could choose one for free and we ended up buying another one. They were very good with the sun setting behind us.

If we did again, I would ask to bring everything at once as I didn’t care for the in and out. A great waiter and even more the assistant.

  14. I had premier and went to the fitness classes almost every day. The personal trainer that lead the classes was excellent. There is a variety of classes from pilates, stretching, barre, yoga, spin and others. Pilates was my favorite. Great way to start my morning, then a walk to IC for my morning coffee. They had classes morning and evenings. I was able to sign up right before the class started. On Emerald, it was a nice size gym.

  15. I had the silicone wristband and loved it. I got my DH the wristband and he said it was too sweaty and stopped wearing it the first day. He did use the clip most of the time. I also had air tag holders from my home stash and he changed to the air tag key chain as he liked the thinner material over the clip. You can wait until onboard as the ship has a display you can try on before purchase. I dislike lanyards so we didn’t even take them out of the box. We also traveled with family members and the medallion worked very well locating them and my DH. I hope every brand starts using them.
