  1. After reading about being "Cut-off" at 15 drinks, does anyone have experience of trying to purchase a bottle of wine at that point? (I assume some bars can sell bottles?)

    If so, was it allowed?

It's hard to understand why Carnival would refuse revenue provided you are not drunk.

If you think you'll hit 15 just buy the wine ahead of time just to be safe. I hit 15 on 2 seadays last year.... make friends with a waiter/waitress and they'll spot you a few drinks..... especially in casino my dad somehow always was getting comp'd drinks :)

  2. I see Carnival just added Adults Only La Casa en La Playa - Rocky Shores in the last couple weeks. Has anyone done this one yet?

Never done it but seems way overpriced. Look on trip advisor for adult only AI's in Cozumel or maybe Playa Del Carmen (15-20 min ferry ride)... I remember reading about one last year I thought. There's also a quieter side on the opposite side of Cozumel very pretty over there, Mezcalito's Restaurant & beach bar & Punta Moreno, are over there we've never done either since we've always had kids with us. They aren't like Sanchos and other beaches on the popular side with beach toys and kid activities. I've heard both of those places were fun from forums & friends who have been. Good luck.

  3. Just off a 7 day cruise with my husband and two younger daughters (9 & 12). For the most part, we had a really nice time but there were a couple things that surprised me that we experienced on board. I realize it was a small part of the experience, but just curious what you would have thought.

First was in regards to the photo sessions. There was a couple we walked past at about 8:00PM that were hard to miss. They were posing in various sexual positions and the photographer was snapping away while their group of friends were cheering them on. My kids were like - why is he doing that to her? Yeah....

Second was during the main dining room. On the last night of the cruise there was a toddler running around in just a diaper (no other clothes or shoes). I realize that not everyone likes to dress up for dinner, but come on.

We also ate at the steak house. The food and service were great, but two tables over had a one year old doing laps around the parents table. She was pulling things off of the surrounding tables while the parents ignored them.

Also - are non-potty trained kids supposed to be in the pools? I know on Disney they had a dedicated toddler pool that was drained and refilled nightly for obvious reasons. Keep in mind I have kids and they have been on every sailing with us since we had them. I just make sure they followed the rules of the ship with dress code, etc.

Maybe I should mind my own business, but am I crazy to think that's over the top a bit, or are people "just on vacation and anything goes?"

We seen the same baby the last night in the lobby and halls. I was like wow, but of course I didn't care. Every time I'd see a baby with a diaper near the pool a staff member came up and told them they weren't allowed there. Not sure why the big eww on babies in the pool, John Heald stated on his FB a few months ago that pools have chlorine in the salt water as well because that is a requirement. So if you swim in pools with a baby in swim diapers or even a lake then you should be fine..... most babies I seen had swim diapers on but were still told to get out.

  4. Couple of photos of the water @ Caulkner.

Thank you for the pictures, the water is just beautiful!! I pulled that link from the Carnival website, I wasn't signed in to my cruise manager or anything just went to Carnival.com and went to Cruising 101 tab and went to the excursions. That's really strange it's not showing up for you. That is the price we saw too for that company too but after reading so many negatives we decided not to chance it, since we had 2 children who would be crushed. If it were us adults we could get over it but to kids it means everything lol.

  5. Pardon me if I am mistaken , but we have been to Belize and done Shark Ray Alley with an independent, and we are booked on the Magic next March for Belize , and they do not offer Shark Ray Alley, only Snorkeling the Barrier reef which does not go to Caye Caulkner where Shark Ray Alley is..What ship are you on , and when ? Please show me a link to a Carnival cruise that offers it, as I would be interested since we had a bad experience with Coral Breeze. Royal Caribbean does not offer it either ?

    We are on the Magic.

"Visit the edge of Belize's Barrier Reef for a shark and ray encounter before enjoying some time at a tropical island getaway.

Depart the pier for a 55 min. (approx.) scenic and fun boat ride to the charming tropical island of Caye Caulker. This historic little island, is located along the edge of Belize's Barrier Reef, the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Check out beautiful coral formations and marine life abound in these pristine tropical waters.

The shark (the docile nurse shark) and ray encounter takes place just a short distance from the island, on a shallow sandy area, adjacent to the Barrier Reef, where the water is calm and crystal clear. Choose to enter the water from the boat in small groups or just watch from the comfort of the boat." <---- from the excursion, it's a little more pricier than the independents but after reading more negatives on here (Cruise Critic), Funville, and Trip Advisor we have decided to stick with Carnival for an excursion if we choose to do one in Belize.

I must have not read the description correctly and missed the part where it does say it goes to Caye Caulker. <------ Guess I am just soooo stoked that I have 20 days left... lol Reading through info WAY to fast. lol

But, on another note to others questions still exist on how long are you at each and how was it all? Thanks.

  6. Hi, We are booking the Shark Ray Alley excursion through Carnival because we weren't brave enough to go through a private company in Belize. Up until a few weeks ago there was NO reviews on this excursion but now it has a 4 of 5 star rating with 3 5 stars and a 1 star (chronic complainer maybe, maybe didn't read details of excursion and now blames Carnival??).... Has anyone had any experience with this excursion and how much time you get in the water and how much time at beach.... Do you get to go to Caye Caulker with Carnival's excursion? Thanks in advance.

I believe the reviews are real people, I just wanted extra details that the reviews can't really answer. Thanks again.

  7. I think it's ridiculous that it went up and they still cut you off at 15.... I mean RCI has it and from the looks of it theirs is truly unlimited. Hopefully that'll be their next change. I just don't see how people who are paying full price the whole time can drink upwards of 20-30 drinks a day with no cutoff and from what I've heard they actually CUT you off at 15 now and you aren't to buy anymore. :):p
