  1. Good to know about Carnival. Did that 5$ per day offered access to other chatting app? Way better deal than what NCL offered for sure.

NCL has an app where you can see your bill and book excursions, but can't see the menus and you cannot message other passengers. If you want to do so, you need to pay extra.

When you buy an internet package on board, they charge a 4$ initial fee too which can be avoided if you book in advance, but then you wouldn't get your free minutes if you're a Latitude member.

  2. Still no social media packages on most ships in September 2017.

I got a 100 minutes package, and got 30 free cuz it wasn't my first cruise. That was a nice perk. They apparently give 30 free minutes on whatever package if you're a Latitude member.

Internet was okay in most spots except hit and miss in the stateroom. Just gotta make sure you disconnect correctly cuz one night in the room, it wasn't working well and even if I did disconnect, it used up all my minutes and even charged me extra. I was able to get my minutes back and they credited the fee they charged for it.

Still very pricy for internet but it is what it is.

  3. Been having terrible luck with an PCC NCL assigned me too. They never reply to email, hard to reach on the phone and when I need help they are useless. I tried NCL 1-800 number during the evening but couldn't get through. I'll try again during the day..

Is it just me or their customer service is really lacking lately?

  4. I am a Silver Latitude member. I'm considering getting an internet package, but probably the cheapest (100 minutes for 75$ US). Do you think being a Silver member can give me something or no?

Should I book before sailing which would save the activation fees or I might get a better deal on board. On past cruises, I think I might remember seeing some promo in the Freestyle daily for extra minutes or something.

    Anybody can help?

  5. I hope it's not the wrong thread for it, I feel it's somewhat related. But I saw articles where NCL was trying new internet plans on 2 ships back in March. Any idea if it's been rolled on all ships? I supposed not since their website still show their crappy and super pricy internet plans. I was hoping for a social media package like most cruise lines offer nowadays.

    Anybody got info on it?

Sailing from Boston to Bermuda in Sept and was hoping to be able to stay in touch with a few people but I'm unsure it's gonna be possible.

  6. Just came back from a week on the Dream. There was a HDMI port on the tv but sadly it was disabled.

I had tech support come to my room for something else, the menu was not working for me to book excursion and stuff like that. The person played around the menus and I saw clearly "HDMI: Disable". I asked if they could activate it and said no. I was not able to return to said menu (I'm guessing you need a specific combination of buttons to enter it) but I think it's probably possible to find how to online. The TV are Viewsonic.

I don't get why they'd disable it, what's the point?

  7. I was wondering if you were able to get a table for two on board?

I am a big fan of cruises where you can decide to dine only as a couple and the fact that MSC doesn't offer "freestyle" dining or some variation is something that makes me reconsider if I should or shouldn't book with them.
