Suggestions for tours would be welcome. We would like to see wildlife and some of the coastal areas. Arriving on Seabourn Encore in March.

Very concerned about air quality. Saw an article about Tennis Match in Melbourne. Some players had to drop out. Spectators had breathing masks. This is not the luxurious trip I signed up for. Kangaroo island, Batemans Island and Eden have been devastated and their ports closed. What are the rest of you doing?

Our friend’s changed airports and got it down to $7500 per person. That is more than our mid ship deck 7 cabin is for a 15 day cruise.
-
Bare in mind that the flight was booked with Seabourn and there was a$1000 air credit.

Alaska air Ewr to Lax
Virgin Australia Lax to Sydney
Qantas Sydney to Lax
United Lax to Ewr

My travel agent does the legwork. Cannot believe that I got a $92 round trip NY to Sydney. Okay, it is economy. Paid for extra leg room though. When business is $8000. I will suffer a little.

Please let me know how Viking handles this. When I spoke with them they had no answers.

Cruise starts in Hong Kong this May. What would you do?
-
My cruise does not depart until May. Just wondering what others think about departing from Hong Kong in the current political situation.

The Hilton is a great hotel, especially the executive lounge. It is somewhat remote. Do not know where you depart from, but our Silversea cruise left across the canal from the hotel. There is a complimentary water shuttle that left us about 2 blocks away. If not the water taxi was over$100.

i am interested in learning about experience with the AMA line. We have never done a river cruise. Generally speaking,we have cruised on the smaller luxury lines.

How does the ship indicate that you have the silver package? I really do not want to wear a wrist band. While I do like wine, I have trouble with the tannins and need a well rounded red. I surprisingly can tolerate a cosmo or a margarita. Are they included in the silver package?
Thank you for your comments.

We have travelled quite frequently on Crystal and less so on Seabourn. We loved them. Did not like Silversea or RCCL. We generally like to explore on our own or with small groups that let you linger when you find a spot you like. Just wondering what the excursion experience is like? I do not want to be herded like on RCCL. What is the caliber of food and service? We live in a suburb of NYC and are spoiled by all the culinary offerings. Are there onboard lectures?
Would appreciate feedback from others who have travelled on luxury lines.

I think after researching, the posters are correct. We will stay in Ha Long Bay for a day and a half and avoid the exhausting journey to Hanoi. If we take a a cruise the first day, what should we do the second? We will be on the Nautica in Jan.

An excursion to Siracusa is done from the port. We docked there because we were unable to go to Malta. We enjoyed the excursion, but we were on Seabourn.

we have a tour leaving at 7AM. We are in a concierge. How early can we have breakfast? Are there places on deck for an early breakfast?
Also, I am a little leery about eating in Viet Nam and Thailand. Can I get a prepackaged lunch?

While I personally would not again do RCCL for my husband and myself were I to do a family journey, I would choose them. If you want a decent meal. For dinner you will have to go to the supplemental venues. Lots to do for the kids and entertainment is excellent. Kids generally just want pasta, at least my grandkids do. Pasta is pasta.

We are on the Nautica doing this itinerary in January. We will go into Hanoi despite the travel time the first day. We are looking for a shorter cruise on the 2nd day 2-4 hours. Any suggestions?
-
Does. anyone know where Nautica docks in Bangkok? I am looking to do a small group or private excursion that deals with the. Everyday life of the people in addition to some historical sites.

Your favorite place to visit from Livorno?
There is not much in Livorno. It is a stop that allows for excursions to Florence and Pisa.

I use a canadien agent. You can not tell from websites what you will be paying. You must talk with the agent. In addition to her rebate, I was delighted to see that my tips were also included because they were a part of a consortium

There are many tour companies. We picked ours from trip adviser. I would definitely book my own excursion. It is sure to be more reasonably priced. Make sure to do a small group. You do not want to be on a bus in Iceland. The off road vehicles go on ice fields through rivers. It is an adventure you will not soon forget.

Yes the ship is beautiful and the entertainment good, but it is not what we signed up for. We missed one day of our cruise and were rerouted to an intinerary we had no desire to go on. So what did RCCL offer? A $300 shipboard credit does not even cover the cost of the one day we missed. What about going to one less port? What about taking the majority of passengers to ports that they had been multiple times and had no desire to go to again?
If they were smart they would have offered those onboard a sizable discount on a Western Carib itinerary.
We are using the credit to go to the speciality restaurants. The food in the complimentary restaurants is not very good. They also list Devine Decadance as a restaurant. The Solarium Bistro which replaces it does not offer the same menu as on other ships. The food there is horrific.
There are many dissatisfied cruisers on this ship, many who will choose other lines in the future.

We are supposed to stop at both Eden and Batemans Bay. Please let us know the condition you find Batemans Bay. I saw a video on Utube encouraging tourist to come back.
Hope you are enjoying.
