  1. We have travelled quite frequently on Crystal and less so on Seabourn. We loved them. Did not like Silversea or RCCL. We generally like to explore on our own or with small groups that let you linger when you find a spot you like. Just wondering what the excursion experience is like? I do not want to be herded like on RCCL. What is the caliber of food and service? We live in a suburb of NYC and are spoiled by all the culinary offerings. Are there onboard lectures?

Would appreciate feedback from others who have travelled on luxury lines.

  2. we will be doing a Highlights tour. Is the floating market and the railroad market worth going to? Should we spend our second day in Bangkok proper or do the floating and rr market?

  3. we have a tour leaving at 7AM. We are in a concierge. How early can we have breakfast? Are there places on deck for an early breakfast?

Also, I am a little leery about eating in Viet Nam and Thailand. Can I get a prepackaged lunch?

  4. I use a canadien agent. You can not tell from websites what you will be paying. You must talk with the agent. In addition to her rebate, I was delighted to see that my tips were also included because they were a part of a consortium

  5. There are many tour companies. We picked ours from trip adviser. I would definitely book my own excursion. It is sure to be more reasonably priced. Make sure to do a small group. You do not want to be on a bus in Iceland. The off road vehicles go on ice fields through rivers. It is an adventure you will not soon forget.

  6. Yes the ship is beautiful and the entertainment good, but it is not what we signed up for. We missed one day of our cruise and were rerouted to an intinerary we had no desire to go on. So what did RCCL offer? A $300 shipboard credit does not even cover the cost of the one day we missed. What about going to one less port? What about taking the majority of passengers to ports that they had been multiple times and had no desire to go to again?

If they were smart they would have offered those onboard a sizable discount on a Western Carib itinerary.

We are using the credit to go to the speciality restaurants. The food in the complimentary restaurants is not very good. They also list Devine Decadance as a restaurant. The Solarium Bistro which replaces it does not offer the same menu as on other ships. The food there is horrific.

There are many dissatisfied cruisers on this ship, many who will choose other lines in the future.
