Fantastic! Looks like RC is allowing passengers to book independent tours in Falmouth in May, Thank you!!!

We arrive at Falmouth port on May 25 on Explorer of the Seas. Are we allowed to travel freely from the port on a private excursion, not a RC excursion? I keep getting conflicting answers and the RC website is contradicting itself.

My family of 8 is booked on EXPLORER OF THE SEAS, May 22-28, 2022. Am I allowed to book an independent private tour in Fairmouth, Jamaica through Viator? The price is much less expensive than through the cruise ship; that is what I have done on past cruises. Is it allowed now by RC?

No, there are no extra fees to pay. Unless while you are at the beach resort and you want to buy drinks or go snorkeling, etc. Just to relax in a beach chair, swim, it is free.

Absolutely. We stayed on a public beach for awhile while my MIL drove around with Ron our driver. She said it was actually great as he showed her cultural stuff while we played.

Definitely I would trust Bodden Tours with my safety. Victor has a respected company that would look after your needs!

We booked with Bodden Tours in March/April during our NCL cruise. We booked the Fun N Sun Tour which was only $30pp as I recall. We did sightseeing and went to Victor's Monkey Business....which I would have paid the $30 just for that! Then they took us to a local beach resort where we could enjoy all the amenities (snorkeling, water activities, etc....for nominal fees) There you could also eat....but we did not. Their drinks and food prices seemed very reasonable...and the food looked good. We paid in US $.

After researching our options on trip advisor and cruise critic, our group chose Charlie's Cave Tubing for our shore excursion in Belize....and it was a perfect outing for us! Our group of 7 from NCL's Pearl traveled to Belize on March 31, 2017. Charlie's frequent communications with us before the cruise were clear and concise. Charlie and his son met us at the cruise ship terminal and we were off for a wonderful day! Charlie is a Maya so we were treated to an exceptional tour with an authentic perspective! You simply cannot beat his tour prices and his service! We went cave tubing (you do not have to carry your tube with Charlie; but we noticed several other groups carrying their tubes)----which is an experience NOT to be missed and most of our group went zip lining too (at an unbelievably low price) It is only $75 to do both the cave tubing and zip line....or $50 for tubing alone. Charlie has a pleasing personality, a wealth of information, and a trustworthy business!!! Don't miss out; if you are in Belize trust Charlie to give you a wonderful day trip!!!

On April 1, 2017 our group of 6 traveled to Costa Maya on NCL Pearl. After reviewing the tours offered by other companies, we chose THE NATIVE CHOICE. It was a 15 minute walk from our ship to their office/pick up point (due to local port rules); but in the end it was WELL worth the hike....and after the tour they were allowed to drop us off very near our ship. Their price was great, the Ed and Ed team of driver and guide were excellent and we had a wonderful guided tour of the area as we drove to the Chacchoben Ruins. Our pre cruise communication was very excellent and our directions to their office was concise and easy to follow. The vehicle was new, clean, and cool!!! :) Bottled water was given (and greatly appreciated) during the tour! We could not have asked for a better tour guide....he gave us all the information that we could have wanted and answered all our questions thoroughly. It was a wonderful tour....I HIGHLY recommend!!

Our group traveled on NCL Pearl on March 23-April3. After reading all the reviews on Cruise Critic and Trip Advisor, we chose Bodden Tours.....and I am SO glad that we did!!!Bodden Tours offers a variety of excursions for you to choose from. The one we chose was Roatan FUN n SUN. Their communication precruise was excellent, pickup at the port was convenient, and their price was VERY LOW...$30.pp The highlight of the whole cruise for me was the visit to Victor's Monkey Business!!! Following a 1 1/2 island tour we were given 2 hours to relax at a beautiful beach resort. Trust me, this tour cannot be beat! Remember to take some grapes for the animals at Monkey Business!

Our group of 8 just returned from the Panama Canal 11 day cruise on NCL Pearl (Mar. 23-April 3). After reading reviews on Cruise Critic, we booked private tours at each port .We made a wise choice and booked Dora The Explorer in Cartagena. We were very fortunate, our tour guide was an ex teacher who was very knowledgeable about Cartagena. From the beginning to the end of the tour, we enjoyed all phases. The tour bus was air conditioned, very clean, and he did a great job describing the many areas we visited. The bus driver did a great job in driving through the heavy traffic.... It all was great! Communication with this company before the tour was excellent and our pickup at the port was simple and convenient. We saw exactly what we wanted to see plus had some time for shopping. Our guide also helped us find a great buy on delicious Colombian coffee! I highly recommend this company!...and the price was far below what the cruise ship charged for the excursion...and was MUCH less crowded! P. WELLS

:cool: Thank you so much. I didn't know if I needed to plan on buying the internet package on ship....it is too expensive!

NCL provided the following information about this subject: "Cell phone roaming is enabled on the Norwegian Pearl, however, the system can be pricey as the price plans feature international roaming rates and data charges (this can be very expensive). Contact your mobile phone operator to ensure that your account is activated for international roaming and inquire as to per minute rates, per text message rates and data charges -- the costs are not cheap."

Question 1: My ATT cell phone plan includes international roaming. My ATT plan says that if I am texting ( to someone who is also on my plan) the incoming texts are free and outgoing texts are 50 cents each. Has anyone actually used ATT international roaming and found this to be true??

2. Is the cell phone roaming strength on the Pearl strong enough to use comfortably?...or would you recommend buying an internet/wifi package?

We are sailing on the Pearl March 23-April 3...Panama Canal and need to be able to contact home via text. THANK YOU!
