I’m on the sept 30 cruise from quebec and will be in Sidney on oct 3. Any information about tours wold be much appreciated

I will be in old Quebec for 3 days at the end of September before going on a cruise. I have been having a lot of trouble finding availability. I finally have tentative reservations at 2 hotels, hotel clarendon and hotel champlain. Both seem good with great location. I am a woman traveling alone so I am trying to decide which of the two might be better. Any insights you can offer would be much appreciated

I will be arriving in Vancouver from Miami on May 4 and leaving on a cruise on May 7. I think I will need to get a negative COVID test in Vancouver. Can anyone give me advice about where to get tested and the cost
-
Sorry but I am still a little confused and need advice. I will be arriving at Vancouver from Miami on May 4 for a cruise leaving on May 7. I’m fully vaccinated but I assume I need a negative COVID test to be done in Vancouver. How do I find testing sites in Vancouver and are they costly?

Cruising to Alaska in early May. We’re planning to book a whale watching tour there. But my sister also wants to do the mt roberts tramway. Is it possible to do on your own or do you need a tour?

I am trying to understand what th have it all package means. Does the shore excursion mean one for each person or one for the cabin? And what price shore excursion? What about the drink package — for each person or for the cabin?

I will be traveling on holland America on sept 4 leaving from Amsterdam. This is my first time cruising alone ( always before with my husband). I am pretty independent but I am wondering what ports would be best for booking excursions and what ports I could just wander. I will definitely book for St. Petersburg and based on this forum I am looking at some sites recommended. I really appreciate any advice you might give.

Does the infinity still have a library?
-
Sorry typing crazy, I meant is the Westerdam as nice as the Amsterdam?
-
I remember the library from a previous trip, now I am looking at the Westerdam because it has the Tracy arm excursion and th Amsterdam doesn't. Do you know if the Westerdam is ask nicely?

Thanks for all the advice. Actually we have cruised to Alaska before, a couple of times. For this cruise it is mostly about relaxation. We have been dealing with health issues for the last year and now just need a stress less getaway. Does the Amsterdam have a good library? On one Hal ship in the past, we could go to the library and listen to classical music. How about any informative lectures? Thanks again

I know this is a HAL forum but I am trying to decide between HAL and Celbrity for an Alaka cruise this August, round trip from Seattle. My husband and I have cruised with both lines in the past but it's been awhile. We like good food, lectures if possible, and quiet. I would also like to do the Tracy Arm excursion. Any advice appreciated.

My husband and I plan to do a transatlantic on QM2 this summer and we are new to Cunard. How does one find out about themes (or whatever it is called) on particular crossings. I understand there are some crossings that revolve around jazz. Although we both appreciate jazz, we are much more classical music people. We are very interested in what types of lectures there might be onboard. We have cruised in the past on Celebrity and Holland America and oils appreciate any advice from Cunard veterans.

I posted a request for information on dining on QE2 and received a lot of helpful advice. But I am still a little confused about the difference between Brittannia and Britannia Club. We definitely like nice dining, not enough to pay for a suite, but is there a difference between the afore mentioned two and how dos that work? Thanks in advance.

My husband and I are thinking of doing a transatlantic on Queen Mary 2 this summer. I am confused about the dining options. Are there categories and is the food different? We usually cruise on Celebrity, sometimes Holland America. We like nice dining and a quiet cruise environment. Will we like Cunard? Any advice and information will be much appreciated.

I have a question for all. What is the purpose of these forums? It seems to me that mostly this should be a place to ask questions and get advice from more experienced cruisers. I posted a complaint about the food on a recent cruise but this was to ask if this was an anomaly or a perception by others that quality has declined. It seems to me that these forums have instead of information become a place of attack and defend, not in fact a civil exchange of information.

As someone who recently complained about the quality of the food in the main dining room, I would like to defend myself. There are many different reasons why people cruise, the gambling, the drinking, the sun, the destinations, etc. I cruise and have cruised in the past because I enjoy being pampered with semi-elegant dining and just to relax. When I say that in my opinion the quality of the food has declined, I am only giving an opinion for those who might cruise for the same reasons I do. By the way, I am a little tired of reading comments on the board from people who seem determined to cheerlead for the cruise line and imply that anyone who gives a critical comment is either disloyal or too spoiled to have an opinion.
-
I just wonder if there is any way to communicate to management that we, as consumers are seeing some decline in quality. We are unlikely to cruise as often as previously and I am not sure if management cares if they are potentially losing repeat customers.

I agree. We found Giovanni's both excellent food and service.
-
Sorry to say this and I am sure I will get blasted, but just off a 7 day cruise on Navigator of the Seas and found the food very disappointing. We had only 2 good meals at Giovanni's table, but the food in the main dining room was less than mediocre. We have cruised a lot on several different lines, and have always enjoyed the dining experience and found things we liked, but not this time. Was this just an anomaly or is the quality going down? It almost seems that royal Caribbean wants to force cruisers into specialty dining, for which they will pay increasing premiums.

I have traveled on Hal many times but I admit I don’t know what club orange is.
