  1. I am taking a bus up from Anchorage and was told that I simply needed to board by 7:00 pm...so your plan should work out fine....

We are headed to Anchorage tomorrow for our DIY Land Tour portion before boarding the Sun in Seward on Monday 6/29. I have a last minute question that I'm hopeful someone here can answer.

I currently have a tour booked at 2pm in Seward on Embarkation Day. We have plenty of time for this tour as the ship is not scheduled to depart until 9pm. Our plan is to check-in and board the Sun, have lunch and drop-off our carry-on bags. I am assuming that we can then leave the ship and return at the end of our tour which should be no later than 5pm.

Is this allowable? I feel like some passengers did this on our Pride of America sailing, but I am not 100% positive. If we are not able to do the above plan, we will store our bags at the hotel, take our tour and then check-in on the Sun.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I used to own a sailboat, and I love being on the water...did one of these trips way back in early 2000's...I enjoyed it for just what you described...my (now ex) was a bit bored and kept complaining that he wanted room service...

Looks like our sailing will be short from port to port and we will be spending much of our time enjoying the towns and sites of southern France and Spain...it's a lovely area!

As for the Galapagos, I decided to split the trip....so will do Machu Pichu as a land tour on its own...

    Best,

    Kathy

Welcome, wow an impressive list of cruise you've taken...I'm traveling with two friends, they are flying into Paris and training to Nice...me I'm flying into Nice, I'm always sneaking out from work to play!

    :)

    Best,

We are booked on this cruise! Looking forward to being under sail once again! Trying to convince some friends to join us and also still deciding which city to spend a few days before flying on to Cannes/Nice on Oct. 3. Right now it looks like London although Paris or Amsterdam are in the running. It depends on airfares really.
