  1. I thought it went from bats to monkeys and then to people that eat the monkeys and we know the rest of the story.

Luvtheships, you're exactly correct. I was going to post this info but you beat me to it. :)

  2. Several years ago, on our cruise from Seattle (we were on Princess) the sea was very rough until we reached the Inside Passage. Seasick people all over the place and the dining room was pretty much empty. We came prepared with Bonine and had no problems at all. Once we reached the Inside Passage, it was smooth sailing all the way. My TA took the same cruise as we did the week after our cruise, and she had no issues with rough seas at all. You just can't tell - even from week to week. Just come prepared with something for seasickness and you should be fine. You'll love Alaska. Enjoy!

  3. In Grand Cayman, my husband and a friend went to Stingray City and raved about it. Unfortunately, the wife of the friend was sick with bronchitis and I stayed with her on the ship. Sorry I missed Stingray City. In Cozumel, I recommend the tour to Tulum. Very scenic ruins. To be safe, I'd advise taking the ship's tour. We took this tour on an RCI cruise and got back to port 2 hours late! They, as advertised, held the ship for us. In Jamaica, take either a ship tour or a private tour. Not a port to just wander around on your own.

  5. Fun thread indeed. My first cruise was March of 1986. The ship was the Rhapsody and the line was Paquet. We sailed from FLL and made stops in Nassau, San Juan and St. Thomas. A 7 night cruise. My expression in every picture we took on that cruise says one thing - "Cruising, where have you been all my life?" Yep, hooked from the very first. The Rhapsody was a small ship by today's standards, but I don't know the tonnage or number of pax. One perk I recall is that they offered unlimited complimentary wine with dinner. When Paquet went out of business shortly after that, our group of 3 couples wondered if all the free wine we consumed on that cruise helped put the company under. :p
