  1. We are going on the round Britain cruise in June. Will be calling at Newhaven for Edinburgh.Assume Cunard will run shuttle into Edinburgh.Does anybody know what the usual drop off point is?

  2. I tried to tell him all that but he didn't want to listen. I just think he is cheap.

    Cheers

Just back from RCCL cruise on Voyager. One person was encouraging passengers to take off tips and give what they want to steward etc.I agree completely. It is not cheap and if it is going to be compulsory it is not a gratuity/tip and should be included in booking price for all.If prepaid or auto there is no incentive for staff and this can now be seenon cruises.

  3. Re the casino. You are right. They spit out tickets. No coins. Lol. You cannot put cruise card in and get money that way anymore. You either put in notes (US) or go to cashier and they will get from your card. When leaving a machine just push cash out and move to another machine, cash it in or take with you for next time.

I also read some bad reviews, I never take any notice anyway but can honestly say, we have not found any problems what so ever. Food is awesome, we have dined in the dining room, 8-30 dining, windjammers, chops grill and tonight we off to giavanies (spelt that wrong I know lol)

If anyone says the food isn't good, I don't know what planet they are from.

I am glad food has improved.Have been on 17 cruises and MDR was worst ever.Started going to Windjammer as did many did.It was much better. Many meals from MDR were returned. So many complaints were made on mid cruise survey that an emergency meeting of F & B management was held.Things could only improve after that cruise.

  4. Just wondering, is the Cupcake Cupboard still on board or did they remove it during the recent revitalization? I know it was definitely on board when I had the chance to inspect the ship in 2013. But it wasn't on the deck plans back then and it's not on there now. Plus I can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere...

Was on repositioning cruise and it is still there with classes.

  5. We are going from Sydney to Singapore in March 2015 and see that the Great Barrier Reef is an option from Airlie Beach. I read somwhere that the trip to the reef is two hours and wonder if anyone out there has done this as two hours in a small boat is not that inviting. Any help greatly appreciated.

The boat or catamaran is not that small but can be quite rough.Due to distance travels quite fast. When we did it one person wished he had taken his credit card and he would have got a helicopter back.If you can do it however it is a once in a lifetime and worth seeing.

  6. Yeah, it replaced the old 19th Hole bar.

I had a peek in from the outside. There's a couple of computers, an automatic coffee machine and a small area for food, along with tables and seating. Couldn't see much else.

Good views but too small.Seats 30/35.Overflow goes outside or into Highnotes where drinks are supplied by merely showing card.Concierge lounge unchanged except for carpets. No windows but not as busy as Diamond Lounge.Concierge in each.

  7. Having just returned from this cruise I agree with comments made. Most of the sun loungers are in poor condition and would benefit from a good clean. The shops are poor for Australian market with a lack of basic items eg cough medicines. There is an acute lack of sitting areas and certainly seemed busy. This may be a problem in poor weather when everybody wants to be undercover.Staff however are friendly and helpful.Disappointed with entertainment, one evening the show was a passenger talent show.Perhaps the new cruise director will improve things.

  8. I agree completely with Debstas comments.I will detail more when off ship. The MDR is very poor and for the first time ever have gone to Windjammer for dinner and it is much better. I am Diamond with RCL but this will be my last. The only compliment I can give them is the number of times they sorry.Problem seems to be at management level.

  9. Balony! For the past 12 years the AU has given a better exchange in Indonesia than the US.

I am sailing from Singapore to Sydney this month.I will have SGD and AUD.The crew will take tips in any currency and they have money change facility on board.I have no intention of getting USD and lose money changing back and forward between currencies.

  10. Many thanks for your reply....we understand that we will only be offered early sitting for dinner....we are hoping that once on board we might be able to change to late seating by joining a large table....has anyone previous experience of this?

It is open dining. You will be allocated a table and it is yours for whole cruise. You decide when to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at a time suitable to you during opening hours. There is no set time.

  11. We will be onboard the above cruise from Los Angeles to NYC - we travelled previously on QM2 in Queens Grill and enjoyed the Queens Grill Lounge after dinner for their entertainment. We notice it says on website "Grills guests" - does this mean that we will be able to access this lounge in Princess Grill status?

Yes.Open to both Princess Grill and Queens Grilll guests. We used on round Australia trip while booked in Princess Grill.
