Is the Tamarind on the Nieuw Amsterdam $25 per person for both lunch and dinner? (A few years back, I'm thinking it was free for lunch on the Eurodam.) Thanks!

PVGirl, did they offer cooking classes and demos on your cruise?

PV Girl,
I was hoping someone would post about the previous trips before we board the Noordam March 25th. You mentioned many areas I have been wondering about and I really appreciate your positive remarks! Glad you had such a great time. We can't wait to board for our turn. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review!

We'll be on the NOORDAM for the Sydney to Sydney cruise beginning 3/25/16. Does anyone know who the piano player will be? Thanks!

Just off the Westerdam and can report that the hair dryer can be found inside the desk cabinet, top shelf on the lefthand side. I believe you can only plug it in at the desk; at any rate, not in the bathroom.

Thank you for the information!

We are doing a 14-day Sydney-NZ-Sydney cruise that begins March 25th. We get off the ship April 8th and will be in Sydney for 4-5 nights. What can we expect weather-wise? We'll probably take layers, but I'm wondering if I'll need more than a heavy sweater as a jacket? Thanks for the advice!

for your review of the Noordam. We'll be seeing her in March for the 14-day New Zealand cruise, and I too have been a little worried about the negative comments I see! Did you try the Main Dining Room or the Pinnacle for dinner? Just wondering how they stacked up...

Thank you, all, I was able to find what I needed regarding cabin pictures... I'm a happy researcher now!

Thanks for the reply! Very frustrating. All I seem able to find by googling are HAL's depictions which are not helpful in the least for viewing those obstructed view cabins. The previous site (she who must not be mentioned) was exactly what I needed for this kind of research!

I'm looking at HAL's Noordam 14-Day New Zealand Discovery (Sydney round trip) for my parents who are 84 and 83 and in pretty good health. I'm going, too, but don't want to share a room and instead would have my own cabin hopefully with a window. (Perhaps an obstructed view with floor-to-ceiling window although they are still expensive for one cruiser!) It's been a few years since I researched a HAL cruise! Is there still a way to see the cabin photos of individual cabins? That was SO VERY useful last time!

We'll be on the Maasdam's Panama Canal cruise Feb. 9 thru 24, 2008, as part of a cultural tour organized by the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (information at http://www.satromtravel.com). I think our group is a little over 100 people the last I heard. Although we'll be having lectures and group meetings, I don't know whether we're large enough to "take over" any areas of the ship.
