I have a cruise with Carnival booked through a travel agent for this Feb. I have no complaints with this travel agent but at times I find it frustrating having to go through her for everything. I am thinking of booking another cruise for Aug./17 but I am worried that she will be able to see this new booking. I don't want to offend her, it's just that I am comfortable booking our cruises on our own now. Does anyone know how much information travel agents have to cruises that are not booked through them?
Thanks in advance.
I have done it both ways... but let me tell you that my experience is when there were issues the cruise line took care of the people who booked through them first. then threw us a bone. Seriously bent over backwards for two different people we met, but we had booked through Amex and you could see them looking at the computer and like saying to themselves... nope, not our problem if you booked through them. After that experience, I'll never book through an agent again.

I bring antibacterial Wet Ones and small bottles of antibacterial stuff with me on every cruise. That is a little help, I know it doesn't solve every problem. Amazingly alot of people just aren't taught to care.

I had a coffee maker and used it every morning. It was good enough, but I try to pack as little as possible so I don't want to pack coffee. I got some extra cream upstairs, and I grabbed a few of the tea packets.

My cousin and I were on the Norwegian Epic and on September 30th after we re-branded in Naples she went to the medical center. We had minestroni soup but we are sure it must have had a chicken broth base. My cousin is vegetarian and became ill fairly quickly after eating it. She had also listed it months ago on our registration that she was vegetarian, so it was listed. The medical center flipped out because she was asking for imodium and quarantined her to our cabin. She argued she had no fever and she told them she just accidently ate a meat product. But they were flipping out on her and she had to stay in the cabin. I was allowed to run around the ship. They told her we were not allowed to put our luggage outside the door and we would be escorted off the ship after everyone else got off. We waited and waited the next morning, finally calling the front desk and the medical center- neither who seemed to know anything about it. We finally just gathered our luggage and walked off the ship and took a cab back to Rome on October 1st. It was ridiculous. Never been on Norwegian before. NOT a good introduction. I've been trying to find an email or place to complain, but they don't seem to have a contract us email.

I was just there Sep 24th cruise and no free wine. No corkage fee the last night was offered. We bought the ultimate dining package but onboard they will offer three nights for $59. Next time we are doing that. People told us the food in the free restaurants was very good. Loved the Cagneys, Le Bistro and Cuchina, the Italian restaurant. The others were just ok with us.

I just came from Rome a week and a half ago. While traveling I did the obvious: washed hands often, avoided touching my face and I brought those Wet Ones single antibacterial wipes. I work in Healthcare too, so travel smart, but do go!!

Is really expensive. I washed my clothes or and hung them on the line in the shower. You aren't supposed to hang them outside but I hung some on the chairs on the balcony for a quick dry!

Don't buy a lot of gizmos but a travel clothes line always goes with me so I can wash stiff out.

The Trevi Fountain is under renovations now. The rennovations started this month and continues through 2015. You can still see it, but it will be dry.

I am glad that it is being fixed, but it sure will suck when I go visit in September. I was sooo looking forward to seeing it!
