  1. my wife, myself, and our three boys (14,14, and 13) will be cruising on the Allure this Sunday. Have a question about the ten club. Is it basically just a meeting place for teens to meet or do they actually have organized activities....if so what kind? we are all excited as this will be the 4th cruise for my wife and I but the first for our boys

  2. so, I have to admit, have only been on two cruises. Two years ago on Indy and two years prior on Enchantment. Will be sailing on Allure on April 2nd. With a buffet they are dealing with thousands of people who want to get in and get out quick. On prior cruises we have felt that the food was on par, or slightly above, most buffet restaurants on the mainland. Has it reall gotten worse than this?

  3. We will be bringing our boys on their first cruise over spring break in April. They will be 15,15, and 13. I would love to hear from anyone who has brought their teens on the Allure and what the experience is like. I know about the zip line, rock wall, pools, flow rider, etc....but, what other organized activities are there on board? We've kept the boys in dark a little bit when it comes to the ship and what's on board as we don't want to build it up too much and then have them be disappointed...

  4. Has anyone out there, who has sprint as their cell provider, used their phones to text while on a cruise.......specifically The Allure? Is it reliable? Do you need to buy the internet package in order to text? We are looking to stay in contact with our teen boys who will also be cruising with us and while talking face to face is the best way, there are times when texting may come in quite handy.

  5. This will be our third cruise (allure). First cruise was on Enchantment and second was on Indy so our ships are getting larger with each sailing. My question is this : is there really that much of a difference between Indy and Allure? Can you really tell that the Allure is larger?

  6. Reading the reviews for Allure, One of the biggest "complaints" seems to be about the food. For those who have traveled on this, Is there really that big of a difference between the allure and other ships? We've loved the food in the MDR on our other two cruises. Hoping for the same on this one.

  7. My wife and I have been on two cruises (enchantment and Indy) and have just booked a 7 day cruise on the Allure over spring break. This will be the first cruise for our 3 boys. They will be 13 and 15 x2. Question for those who have cruised with young teens; I want them to have fun and be somewhat independent, but I also want to know where they are and what they are doing. What is the best way to do this on a ship....especially one that is so big. We all have cell phones so texting would be a great way but not sure if phones/texting will work out on the ocean. Suggestions or tips?

  8. We are probably 90% sure we are going to book the 5 day Indy cruise. It's a ship we are familiar with and while it's a few years old it still has that "wow" factor. I think it's a great ship for the boys first cruise. While I would kind of prefer a 6 or 7 day cruise.....the price is right and we are going to stay a couple days in ft lauderdale before the cruise. We have always loved leaving out of ft lauderdale and think the boys will love the beach, the water taxi, etc...Labadee will be great for the boys as there is tons of things for the boys as we relax on the beach. Not sure about Falmouth as our first cruise we went on stopped at ochos rios but I'm sure we can find something fun. I would like to thank everyone who has chimed in. I have really read every comment. I even did some research on Carnival and looked at what they have to offer. It just really came down to prior experiences and we have been very happy with what RCL has to offer.

  9. Thanks all! I hadn't even thought of the weather! I seem to equate a cruise with warm weather. Not sure what I was thinking. I agree about the itinerary as well. Bahamas sound ok as we have never been there but having a stop in Orlando just doesn't seem right. So, just looking on the RCI site...the total for the 5 night is 2,585 while the 7 night is 5,166. These are prices for interior rooms and of course doesn't account for tips or excursions. So really the 7 day cruise would just be for the newer/bigger ship. Pretty much going to cross that out I think. However I am going to go back and check out that time period to see if I missed something. I know there are other cruises available during that time but most seem to be on smaller/older ships. We really did like the size of Indy and we had a great cruise on her....that's one reason why we are leaning in that direction. A couple people asked if we have to go that week. We pulled the boys out of school last year for vacation and it was a night mare. Teachers weren't good about giving assignments before we left and then they had to play catch up when we returned. It was stressful for everybody and just not worth it. We might consider one of two days....but that's it

  10. Planning on bring our boys on their first cruise the first week of April, 2017. My wife and I have been on two other cruises. Both RC ....enchantment and independence.

We have whittled our choices down to two and are finding pros and cons to both and are having a hard time deciding.

(1). 5 night caribbeans cruise from Ft. lauderdale with stops in Labadee and Falmouth. independence of the Seas. Pro- we've been on the ship and loved it. Really like sailing out of ft. lauderdale. Think the boys would like the area as well (15 year old twins and a 12 yr old). The price is right and may stay an extra day or two in ft lauderdale because of that. Con- we've already sailed on the ship and would like to try something different. It's relatively short. 5 nights is the Least I will cruise. Have been to both ports before

    2) 7 nights Bahamas cruise from cape liberty, NJ. Stops in Orlando, coco bay, and Nassau. anthem of the seas. pros- it's a brand new ship and it has plenty of activities on board for the boys nod lots to explore. Have never been to the Bahamas. Really like the length of the cruise. Cons- twice as expensive. Reviews of the anthem have been very mixed. Not so sure about NJ as the port of departure or having Orlando as a stop on the cruise.

Has anyone out there sailed on both of the ships? How would you compare the two? Any opinions on the Anthem?
