16 cruises (all with grandchildren, starting age 4) and have never been asked for permission to travel letter from their parents. I will say I've always had the letter, just never asked for it. Don't know when your cruising, but if you have the time it's not that hard to get divoce papers stating sole custody.

Unless your trying to keep a certain rate (senior, past guest, etc) just cal Carnival and do it before you go. We have never been charged to just change names of people from one cabin to another. And we just did it.

For years we have sailed with our now 12 year old 'granddaughter', (actually no blood relation, but has been in family since day she was born and is every bit a grandchild as any of the others to us) and while we do have a passport and signed letter from her mother, we have never been asked for the letter. We step up to the counter, handover the passport and that's that. And just as a side note a minor under 16 does not have to have a photo ID.

Some ports don't require iD with S&S (I know Cozumel does), some do. I would take ID. We never carry our passports off ship, but you could copy it and take it with you (would have your document number on it to speed things up, if necessary). Don't know how much ATT call is on ship, but incoming texts are free, outgoing .50.

We were going to do the AI but after doing some thinking, I decided that for the maybe 3 hours we would be there (must make our yearly trip to downtown area), I just don't see us drinking and eating about 385.00 worth. I think we would do much better on pay as you go. If I'm not mistaken the AI side does not include the water toys, you have to pay extra for that.

OK, I'm confused, what does FTTF have to do with lost card?
-
We always get to the terminal early, around 10:30.
-
Replies were so helpful, thank you.
-
How do they know you have FTTF when you arrive with luggage and also when tendering do you just walk right past everyone in the line?
-
June7th cruise. I've never used the FTTF but alot of people seem to think it's a good thing, so I thought I would give it a try for our 3 cabins. Could anyone kind of guide me thru the steps I will take using it out of Galveston. We only tender in to one port and that's Belize.

Thank you for all the replies. This is Savanna's 1st cruise, I will hope for the best. Like I said her Dr will give her a prescription for it, I just hate it makes her sleepy. She is very excited about going.

time traveling with one of my kids or grandkids that gets motion sickness. Anyone with young child that gets this? Would like to know what you gave them to help. Her mother is going to get her prescription filled for it before we go, but they seem to make her sleepy. Thought someone might have had this problem and wondering what they used. She can go on long trips in car and be fine, then go on one for 20 min and get upset to her stomach. I'm hoping she will be fine, but just in case...

I know that if you put cash down for S&S you can go down on the last night and close your account (no purchasing after that), and you will receive any unused money in cash.

see other side of island, stop for photos, downtown shopping. Really would like to design our own but with a guide. Does anyone have any recommendations, Some of the tours sound very nice, but not interested in some of the stops:eek:

is leaving, what is the difference in the two ships:confused:

My answer was based on MY experience having just booked a solo room for my daughter. I paid FULL price for her (200%) and was told by PVP there were no solo rates on Carnival sailings . Now, having found out differently from a few replies, that sometimes (not often) there are, I apologize. However some of the corrections of my statement:eek: where rude.
-
There are no Solo rates with Carnival you pay as if 2 people were in room (except for port charges for second person, they are added if you add another person), just did this.
-
Some ports, Cozumel for example, require ID and S&S card to get past security check at entrance to pier to board ship. If you don't have ID card take your Passport.
-
I like music, but wwaayy to loud:eek:

New Orleans doesn't wait till your off the Mississippi anymore to open shops and casino, they open up 30 to 45 min after sailing:)

In Grand Cayman for only 2 or 3 dollars you can take the bus (mini van) to Hell and you get to see some of the sights along the way. The bus (mini vans) are a short walking distance from the dock, they drop you off and come back around and pick you up. Mail a letter to back home post marked from Hell, Grand Cayman.

You can also go down on the last night and close your card. They will give you any money left in cash. Just remember you can't use your card for purchases after that so make sure you are finished purchasing anything. Card still works for door. My son goes down before he goes to bed last night to do it.

they prepaid for specialty restaurant. Can this be done:confused: I know you can book reservations on line. Did not know you could prepay.

Sorry, I meant Cheers Program:o

Just wanted to add that Carnival does not specify that Authorization Letter (parent giving other parent permission to travel) needs to be notorized. Soooo
