Coming back from a cruise with the Meraviglia. From 7 years you can allow your child to sign in/out by himself, so he can walk around the ship. On european cruises the club close at 11PM. I didn't saw "kids around the clock" but it could be different for US cruises.
And on the first day usually you don't have long lines. The seaside is a new one so everything is bigger and more organised than with the older MSC ships. They took the children to eat in the evening each day at the buffet (with a dedicated place) and they sometimes go in the theatre.
Is it true that folk on the Bella package are sometimes barred from the MDR?

With almost 10 cruises with MSC, I just can't imagine (with your bookings linked) that you're gonna be separated. You'll be together. But in the case of not, on the first day, in the afternoon, go and talk with the restaurant manager.
Based on my experience, they are always Italian, so, even if you want to, even if you know that they are wrong, try to be nice with them, it ALWAYS helps, more than to be angry with them. I know sometimes it's hard, but it works. It looks like they need to know that they are "commander in chief" :-)
You'll have better results.
Anyway I highly doubt that you're gonne be separated, once again.
