  1. We got off the Vista last Sunday and had a Havana Cabana. It was wonderful. We spent everyday at the pool-very quiet. We never had an issue getting a chair or sun bed. One day we went to the main pool are to get some tacos and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was crazy busy and oh so loud . We were happy to head back to our quiet little corner of the world!

  2. My husband and I were also on the December 12 sailing. We have to agree that the entertainment is 5 star! We totally enjoyed all three of the major production shows. Off the Record was my absolute favorite and my husbands was After Midnight.

Regarding Food Republic....yes it is a MUST! We ate there three times during the week - twice for lunch and once for dinner. We never made a reservation and never had an issue getting a table right away. Give it a try - you won't regret it. Pork belly and scallion potstickers...yum!

OK - back to the OP's review....just had to add my 2 cents.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

  3. We just got off the Escape on Saturday and were in a similar situation as you regarding the Bistro reservations. As others have said, they keep a few reservations open to book while on board. I have the NCl iConcierge app and was able to book the reservations as soon as we got on the ship....did not have to go to the reservation desk and wait in line. We were also able to book entertainment like that. Just download the app to your phone beforehand and then you activate once you board the ship...very easy and quite convenient.

  4. We were just on the Dec 12 sailing of the Escape. There were only about 5 or 6 shops open. We were told that it might be finished by March or April of 2016.

  5. Margaritaville appeared to be dead on the Dec 12 sailing. I walked by a number of times and the majority of the time it was either empty or closed. They had some really good tunes (live band) the one time I walked by and only 6 people in there. It seemed like a real waste. The only time it looked somewhat busy was for breakfast (I think they do free breakfast but we never tried it.)

Agree....we were also on the Dec 12 sailing....never looked busy in there at all.

  6. Thanks so much for the replies.

I really thought the outdoor restaurant seating would be in high demand. Ocean front tables are usually the prime seating in a restaurant.

Thanks also for the tips at getting comedy show reservations,

I can already imagine the lines to get onboard. I definitely didn't want to start my cruise off by then having to stand in line to make show reservations.

If you download the iConcierge app to your phone, you can make all reservations directly from your phone once you are onboard.

  7. Have you notified the Access/ Special Needs Desk? Email AccessDesk@ncl.com, giving them your cruise information and they will notify the Food and Beverage Director of The Breakaway of your needs. You may want to met with him and the Restaurant Manager once you board.

I agree that this would be your best course of action. I have dealt with the Access Desk on many occasions for other issues and they are wonderful. I'm sure all will go smoothly for you....enjoy your cruise!

  8. When we sailed in April, we waited to book until we got on the ship. We did this immediately upon boarding and there were plenty of time options available.

We did this based on the recommendations of others here on the boards who shared their experiences of the hassle of getting reimbursed. It worked out very well...no worries.

    Enjoy!
