I am considered a seasoned cruiser; I have been on a total of 6 cruises. And what I have found out about cabin location is that the lower and closesr to aft you are the more you feel the boat rocking. The engine noise shouldn't be a big problem. If you can stomach the rocking you should be okay. :)

I personally don't use cruise cash, I think its a waste of time. I just link my debit card to my account for the purpose of speeding up the embarkation process. And the night before the cruise is over I go to guest services, check my balance, and pay it off in cash.
