On embarkation day, the Viking Crown Lounge will likely not be crowded at all. But the elevators will be busy, not sure you want to lug all that stuff up the stairs.

I'm trying to avoid Spring Break if I can. I've searched various school calendars around the US. When is your Spring Break in '24? I'm looking at the first week in March. Thank you.

I am considering booking this ship for my next cruise, so I really appreciate your review. We sailed the Voyager out of San Juan last year for the itentiary. We had done the same itentiary on the Freedom before and loved it. While our Voyager sailing with a port every day was awesome and had no complaints about the ship or crew, it was less than enjoyable due to the passengers onboard, just a very rude, demanding and messy dynamic. I do know that the crew did enjoy the seven days with a port stop each day because it gave them more time off. I don't think they were excited about the move to Galveston. We've never done a five day cruise before but we're going to give it a try and hope for the best.

Has anyone taken a taxi to the Divi Little Bay Beach resort lately? Does the resort still allow you to rent a beach set up? And any idea of the taxi rate from the port per person?

The aft balcony on the Voyager last year was my favorite balcony! I wasn't on deck six, but the room was much larger and the balcony was huge! Don't be too upset until you actually see it, you may just be pleasantly surprised. And the head waiter on Voyager for MTD is the BEST we have ever had. He is outstanding. Enjoy your trip.

We purchase the water package before we sail and bring two bottles of wine aboard for the balcony.

- Just go to guest services on the last afternoon/evening and cash out. So easy, never had a problem.
-
Pack everything you think you'll need and then a little more. Unzip your suitcase and take half to three-fourths of it out and you should be perfect. Now, if I could only follow my own advice!

Just go to guest services the night before and get the cash. We do that on every cruise where there is onboard credit remaining, never had a problem.

Thank you!

If you turn diamond during a cruise, do the perks start then or do they start upon your next cruise?
-
Just received the same. I said, if someone has stolen my identity, they are doing it right.

Anybody know which they're using right now before I purchase the packages?

I need someone to jog my memory. We did a Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan and I remember lots of people returning to the ship with lots of wheels of cheese. Does anyone know what port that would be? The shop was right at the port, close to the ship.

We were in Key West the week of Labor Day and there was a Virgin ship docked one day. Didn't really notice anything different on the island and there were no picketers, no worries, go and enjoy, it is one of my favorite places. And it's such a small island, you really don't need a ship's excursion, you can arrange everything yourself easily. Enjoy!

Contact the Riverside. They have a company that is onsite.

First cruise since Covid. Can you tell me if you have to book shore excursions only through Royal or can you book on your own for each island?

I've used the same agency pre-Covid for most of my cruises. I've been trying to reach them for three days and no call-backs, no emails, nothing, goes straight to a recording. Big agency in the northeast. I'm so disappointed. I'm ready to book and I want the perks. So very frustrating. How do I find these great agents?

Yes, our Freedom changed to Explorer out of San Juan. We received a call and an email yesterday. Still unsure on ports and no cabin number. Undecided on what to do, but must make decision for full refund if canceling by 10/30. We did this cruise two years ago on Freedom and loved it, but it's the ports that really made the trip, not the ship.

might I get a copy of this as well? cherisseauthement@gmail

I decided not to wait, put a hold yesterday and booked today. It's a holiday week sailing, so I guess waiting is not smart.
-
Does this sale typically last one week? I noticed the rates on the cruise I'm booking have gone up overnight and I'm willing to wait until after this sale, as I think the rates/perks will be better after this sale. Just my logic, I could be wrong.

We saw him in December of 2018 behind the Sheraton. I wish I had seen this post before we went. I wanted to give him money and my husband said it was a scam.

I have thoroughly enjoyed living vicariously through you on this cruise. We've cruised Oasis before a couple of times when she was new and will again in '25, so I've especially enjoyed your posts about the ship as it's been a many years since we've been aboard. Safe travels home and I'll be looking for your next live review.
