That's bull****, I emailed RCI on Friday and told them I was about to make a financial commitment for airfares for the cruise on the 20 February. I explained my concerns and told them my fares were not covered by travel insurance and if there was any issues please let me know and I would hold off and possibly pay a little more later. I received the above reply, no way they can say they didn't know if it is confirmed today. I'm going to go off.

I only received this reply to my concern over the Legend sailing I am booked on for 20Feb17. I will be pretty annoyed if I have been lied to at this late stage.
Dear Mr xxxxxx
Thank you for contacting Royal Caribbean International.
In regards to your query, at the moment this sailing is closed for
inventory maintenance and your booking is secured. This does not mean that
the sailing is being cancelled, from time to time it is necessary to make
this Inventory maintenance. If there were to be any changes on the sailing
we would be notifying your travel agent with all the information possible
but at the moment this sailing is confirmed.
We appreciate your understanding.
Kind Regards,
Bryan Gaas, Reservations Specialist

Really, I just logged onto RCI Australia and they are all showing sold out still. Somethings dodgy.

Having trouble getting info on Legend of the Seas cruises out of Brisbane from 20Feb17 until it leaves for Asia in April 2017. All of the cruises are showing 'sold out" and when I called RCI Aust they told me that the cruise and the five after it are "closed for inventory" no bookings being taken.
Not sure what is going on but it all seems a bit dodgy to me. Maybe they are pulling out earlier than the advertised date. Bit of a worry if you are already booked on one of these cruises.
Anyone have any info on this?

You should have no problems as a lot of the taxis are station wagons. We got four people, four suitcases and four carry on bags in one. bit of a squeeze but all good. Enjoy.

I called Princess Australia today and spoke to a customer service person (Jamie). He was helpful and told me what he could which was not much. Suggested I email Princess, which I did. I simply asked if the current problem was going to affect my November PNG cruise and if it was to what extent and what were they going to do about it. I got an automated reply saying they would get back to me in 15 to 25 days. Wow, no need to hurry in replies I guess. Anyway the email address is
feedback@princesscruises.com.au.
I remain less than optimistic of a reasonable response. Will keep this thread posted.

Does anyone have an update on the underspeed issues that have been reported on the Sea Princess.

I used Pegasus car hire last time I was in Tauranga. They were fantastic, met us at the boat and a short trip to the depot. Insurance excess is usually covered by your travel insurance, and when we missed the Port Chalmers stop due to bad weather, they refunded my credit card back the same day. Just send them an email to confirm that if the boat does not get into port they will refund your money.

I was on the 25 May cruise and Princess were aware of the problem the day before we sailed. We were emailed about the issue and asked to arrive early for boarding, hoping for an earlier departure. Was advised we would be late (5.00PM) into Noumea and would receive $100.00 obc/person as comp[ensation. On Tuesday morning around 930, the captain advised us that we were behind schedule and would not make Noumea until approx. 7.00pm, and due to this late arrival they were cancelling the stop. Another $100.00 obc/ person was to be given as compensation. We were pretty happy with the process, and had a great night out drinking free cocktails.
The rest of the cruise went as planned.
Now, I have been booked on the 24Nov14 PNG cruise for some months, and after reading the previous posts became concerned as to if we would be able to make all of our port calls,
So, I rang princess this morning and spoke to Devan or maybe it was Bevan. I voiced my concerns and he told me it was just a generator problem that would be fixed in the next week or two and my cruise would not be effected. I told him that I had read it was a "broken crank" that required dry dock, abd he again assured me that it was just a generator issue, and that if something as major as a crank was broken they wouldn't wait until next year to repair it, they would cancel a cruise and dry dock it asap.
Take what you will from this info, but, still sounds a bit iffy to me. I will keep an eye on this thread and see if she is fixed soon.
cheers

This would have been my third RCI cruise, looks like I may have done my last with them if this is the case.
