I’m glad to hear that smoking is allowed in the casino on the MSC Meraviglia. I am sailing on her for Thanksgiving week. I just did a short cruise on the MSC Divina during hurricane Ian and there was no smoking in the casino. The casino was extremely boring as at least on this cruise it showed that the non-smokers don’t gamble as much as the smokers do.  I didn’t mind having to go out to the cigar bar to smoke, but there is no ventilation in that room and there are no ionizers. You come out smelling like a dirty ashtray and don’t even feel like going back in the casino to play.

I see you will be sailing on the 15th. I'm sailing with my middle sister. We have a balcony on deck 10. Come from a great accepting family. My sister attends the FOD meetings with me from time to time. It'd be great to catch up. Not sure how many of us are sailing the 15th.

Been listening to those songs for many years and they mean Cruise, happy occasions, and fun! I love the MDR entertainment, the dancing and singing. It really livens up dinner. I also want John Heald to keep saying "arse," making references to his underpants, rumpy pumpy with Heidi and smoking cigars. If you all want prim and proper, peace and quite and the decks rolled up at 8pm, you can sail Holland America.

Anyone joining me on this sailing? Just booked and got lucky during the friends and family sale. No single supplemental, so this trip gives me a balcony to myself and only paying for one instead of 2.

Carnival Splendor January 4, 2014 NYC 8 days to Florida/Bahamas

Hi we will be driving from Boston to Bayonne on June 13th does any one know if there is any constrution going on at the parkways W Cross Parkway, which becomes Merritt Pkwy and then the Hutchinson River Pkwy (Merritt renamed in NY)

 

2 years ago we got stuck in traffic for hours they were repairing the bridges.

Cross Westchester does, Hutchinson does not from Cross Westchester down to Cross County/Saw Mill

We used I Drive Shuttle when we took our Nov 2nd cruise on the Brilliance repositioning cruise from Cape Liberty. They are also known as Independent Driver, LLC but they do not have a website. 888-816-0973. Inde.drvr@gmail.com. Very reliable and reasonable. $45 plus tip, no toll charge. (One way). This was for 3 people with 3 pieces of luggage. Let the guy know you heard about it from this website. Highly recommended.

Thanks everyone for the information. I made my parking reservations at the Doubletree by Newark. $8 a day. Then I found discount code 1EWR that took another $5 off the total price. I called Independent Drivers LLC and made my reservation for pickup at the Doubletree going to the pier. Abduhl quoted for 3 people with 3 pieces of luggage $45 + $2 toll + gratuity. He even gave me a confirmation number and took my name and cell. Looks like we're good to go. Thanks all. This really helped!

We are sailing on Brilliance Repositioning Cruise Nov 2nd. We live near Poughkeepsie, NY, so we are driving down the day of sailing. Any suggestions for parking? Since it's a one way cruise and we will fly back to Newark, I thought it would be best to park by the airport and then take a taxi to the pier. When we return to Newark, we'll get the car quicker and get home.
