  1. Just back from Souther Carib. San Juan to St Thomas, St Kitts, Aruba, Curacao.

Just a few notes to share. Check in process was easy and fast--from drop off of bags until boarding was approx 1 hr.

Dined at Giovannis Table twice---appetizers and pastas were excellent. service was excellent. entrees ok but not as good as Portofino. Desserts ok, but again not as good as Portofino. Wine choices by the glass were limited here and in the main dining room--out of Charles Krug and Ferrari Carano.

We did enjoy the food in the main dining room (yes, there was escargot every night!) we used my time dining and it was great. We had the Premium drink package and never had to look for the wine guy!

We did notice fewer servers on the pool decks--always crowded at the pool bar. We also noticed fewer wiat staff in ALL bars and lounges. We enjoyed the Champagne Bar----No champagne specials even though Royal confirmed before our trip! They did have the ice shows on 2 different days but no tickets. First time we tried to go there were no seats! We went with a group of 14 and liked our trip so much that we scheduled on board for next year! Any questions please fire away!

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. We will be sailing later this year. I was just wondering if you noticed any booth style seating or chairs without arms in the MDR and buffet. Thank you!

  2. Which ship are you traveling on? I would definitely put in a request for an armless chair in the MDR just to make sure that you do not have a problem.

I'm sure someone will post the email address for special dining requests.

We will be on adventure of the seas!

  3. This is a bit of an odd question but I have not sailed RCI in a bout 10 years. Does any one who has recently sailed adventure of the seas know if there is booth style seating available. Or even chairs that do not have arms? My dad has an easier time sitting in a booth or a chair without arms. Just wonder if this is something we should request. We are mainly concerned about the MDR and windjammer. Thanks in advance.

  4. Got our first aft cabin this past July on Jewel of the Seas ( 8168 corner port side) and we were hooked ! Great view ,larger balcony with a chaise lounge , 2 chairs and a small table. We had no problems with noise, wind or smoke coming out of the smokestack . Very little foot traffic going by your cabin also. We are also booked on the Adventure of the Seas this coming summer , aft cabin 8690 . Looking forward (or aft) to it !

Thanks for your insight. It sounds like we made the right choice!

  5. Once you go aft you rarely go back....unless there is no aft left :(

Enjoy, I love the aft and I was an aft virgin on Adventure too ( 2005 )...we were on the 7th floor amazing views!

Thank you so much for your reply! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm much more comfortable with our decision now.

  6. Hi everyone, my family booked our first aft balcony on Adventure of the seas (8390). We have always enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching as we pull into or sail away from the port. How much of this process will we be able to see? Also has anyone noticed more movement or noise in aft cabins? Just wondering if we should keep or change cabins. Any information or pictures would be great. Thank you.
