  1. We are cruising into Aruba in a couple of weeks and the ship has an overnight there.

Ourselves, we have been to Aruba a couple of years ago and did a tour of the island. Overall, we are NOT beach people, that is to snorkel or just lay on the beach. We do not mind walking along the beach. So we were wondering what might be things to do for NON beach people. Some one mentioned the lighthouse, is that a viable option and how would one get there from the cruise terminal. What beach might be good if we just wanted to wander about?

    Thanks for any help

    Cheers

    Len

    Hi THERE

Are you by any chance on the Breakaway Jan 5th -19 cruise

we are on that cruise and I have found this website about Aruba

    https://www.visitaruba.com/aruba-by-cruise/

there is lots of info and there is a lot of thing to do other than just the beach

  2. I have been looking for the answer to this question and have not found it on these boards. I am trying to figure out if the H5 Courtyard Penthouses are actually in a key-accessed corridor. They seem to be in the actual Haven Courtyard area, but they're on a different floor and I'm not sure if they are in a separate hallway that is only accessible to Haven guests. If so, do they have direct access to Deck 16 Haven Courtyard without leaving that corridor. I can see a stairway next to that corridor but I can find no information on access to the corridor for those cabins on Deck 15.

Thanks in advance for your help with this, and sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered.

  3. We have a cruise coming up in about 3 months on NCL Escape. First time with NCL. We are trying to book excursions, and the options seem to trickle in slowly. Only 3 months out and just 36 options for 4 ports. Our RCCL cruise 11 months out has hundreds of options already. Carnival was similar, all the options there when we booked 6 months out. But NCL, almost nothing just 3 months out.

Does NCL normally just trickle excursions in, and at what point can we expect everything there so we can actually browse through and make selections? How many days out is normal?

    Subject: Shore Excursions

Recent itinerary changes have caused delays in updating available shore excursions in some ports of call. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back later or book your excursions once on board. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  4. My 14 points that were given were for: 7 points for the sailing and 7 points for the latitude insiders bonus.

I did not get the 7 bonus points for the 9 month advance booking. The cut off date for that was 2/3/2017, I booked on 2/2/17 so there is no reason I should not have gotten it. I was told there is no one I can talk to that I must send another email to Latitude support. Anyone know if there is someone/number that I could speak to?

I don't like taking a flight on the same day of the cruise . Our ta recommend at least 1 day prior to cruise

  6. Hello,

My Wife, daughter and myself are cruising out of NYC on the NCL Gem in January. We are looking for a decent hotel close to the cruise terminal. It looks like the Hell's Kitchen area is somewhat close and has a lot of hotels. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

This one is walking distance from pier 88

  7. NYC Airporter buses that I've seen often on nearby highways/parkways, living near LGA, are typically like customized mid-size buses on heavy duty Mack-truck chasis ... and ADA compliant for NYC codes, as I recall. Arriving in the middle of a winter, mid-week morning rush hour ... OP will be joining commuters heading to work in Manhattan, expect the usual rush hour traffic congestion ... yellow taxi will be on a metered fare + tolls, probably about $40 to $45, could be higher if idling or gridlocked to a near standstill, and, add tipping for the driver. Taxi is good for 3 pax + 3 large pc. of luggage, maybe more if you can get a taxi-van, no extra charge or fees, etc. - curbside in front of airline terminal to hotel's un/loading zone.

Carmel, Dial 7 and all other FHV (For Hired Vehicle) require a free & quick shuttle bus ride (Green Route) from terminal's curbside to the nearby designated parking lot to meet the car/driver for the trip to hotel/destination.

NYC Airporter offers free dropoff to midtown hotels via multiple shuttle routes, once you are in Manhattan, either near/by Grand Central Terminal on East Side/Bryant Park-Park Ave. South; or, Port Authority Bus Terminal on west side of town. You will need to transfer from the larger bus into these shuttles, mostly full-sized vans i.e. Ford - for that last 1/2 or 1 or 2 mile, as listed on their route schedules. The wait can be anywhere from none to short, or long if the shuttle just left.

Early January in NYC and be bitterly cold, occassionally (unlikely, but) with possible near-blizzard, stormy conditions and strong north wind blowing ... not fun to be standing or waiting 15 or 30 minutes for free hotel shuttle transfer. For a solo traveler, it's a money saver ... but with 2 or more, I would spend a little more and take Carmel or Dial 7; and, if mobility is an issue - getting to the remote parking lot with the airport shuttle, can be a pain - get into the taxi queue line and go direct, curbside to curbside.

Waze and/or other real-time traffic/navigation App will show the best route & likely ETA from airport to hotel ... 45 minutes or less in travel time would be good to excellent, as we used to commute daily.

    Thank you mking8288

I think I will stick to dial7 or carmel for our aventure to midtown
