I really don’t know what I want to do for dinner tonight. It has to be something small, because I had tacos around 15:30. I was feeling Windjammer, but I’m tempted to try Vintages since I couldn’t get my desired dose of meat and cheese and crunchy bread.

    Any thoughts?

I would definitely try snacks and wine at Vintages if you haven't done that yet.

I'm sorry if I missed this, but have you tried the carnitas at El Loco Fresh? They were my favorite when I was on Oasis last year.

Peach is actually my second choice. I prefer passionfruit, but it seems rare these days.

My favourite is the Peach Daiquiri. Very refreshing.

I love passion fruit too. Have you tried a Papa Jac? I can't remember which bars serve it, but I'm fairly certain I had a few on the pool deck. I bought some Reàl brand passion fruit puree infused syrup so I could make them at home.

I'm almost caught up. This has been a terrific report so far!

  3. I'm very late to the party and have made it through the Disney World portion of your trip. I love all things Disney and loved reading about your experience. A few comments:

    1. Your food and beverage game is so strong! I loved seeing what you ate and made a few notes for our next visit. I'll go looking for some of the snacks you shared, in particular.

    2. Totally agree with you re: mobile ordering. Such a huge time saver at peak meal times!

    3. Love, love, love your progressive dinner idea and have added this to my list for a future visit.

    4. Did you try Satu'li Canteen during one of your visits to AK? It is my new favorite for quick service, which is saying something at AK. The bowls are amazing.

    5. We also paid for ILLs twice during one visit to ride Guardians... and laughed all the way through both rides. That ride represents the very best of what their Imagineers can do.

Luckily it's a slow day at work, because now I'm hooked and want to follow your adventures on the TA!

Just my two cents opinion, and probably not worth that much, but I think the majority of RCI cruisers won’t get excited about a new, smaller class ship (if/when it happens).

As much as I love Oasis class, I'm really excited about the possibility of a smaller class of ship that has some of the newer amenities and venues and can go to more interesting ports. I'm tired of the standard eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.

  5. How many people will be in the room? DH and I travel with our DD, and we've stayed in both a CLS and 1-bedroom ATS, but not an owner's suite. I'm guessing you're looking at a 1BR ATS since a 2BR would be star class and likely much more expensive than the other two suites you're considering. We had an ATS on deck 11 on Allure. They do get smaller as you go up on both Allure and Harmony, so the largest 1BRs are on deck 11.

We loved the ATS and spent a lot of time on the balcony, which was amazing. We liked that there was a door to the bedroom so it could be completely closed off from the living area. We didn't like that the one bathroom could only be accessed via the bedroom, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Note that the bathroom wasn't anything special. I've seen lots of comments about the low ceiling height, but my DH is 6'4" and had no issues.

All things considered, we liked the CLS better than the 1BR ATS, but not by a lot. They both score high on the "wow factor" scale, but we really appreciated the second bathroom in the CLS. We would definitely not pay more for a 1BR ATS than we would for a CLS. Being on the same deck as CK and the SL was a huge plus for the CLS. We ended up using them much more than we did when we were in the ATS.

If you're looking to try something really different, the ATS could fit the bill. The owner's suites look great on paper and I know they have a lot of fans, but I personally would rather book a GS and use the money I saved to splurge on other things.

Or maybe take some of those 29 drinks they are "stealing" from Pinnacle combined with the 3 drinks they are "stealing" from D+ and give Emerald one drink per day.  That'll give them a taste of the D life.  Seems like that would be a pretty big carrot to dangle in front of the donkey to keep them motivated and a reason to climb the ladder faster and it would give Plats something to drive for that is attainable for less frequent cruisers.  Plus it would make the tween Emerald tier something other than just awkward.

Awkward Emerald here, and I wouldn’t say no to a free drink.

  7. I'm enjoying your Wonder trip report with a side of Disney! We'll be on Wonder for the first time in January (way too far off). Your photos are fantastic, and I'm loving all the food pics. We'll be visiting the Beach Club for the first time in January, and I can't wait! The price dipped to $152/person last week and I pulled the trigger. I agree with you about Castaway Cay. It has always been our favorite, but Coco Cay has really grown on us!

We'll have the same itinerary in January, so I'm interested in seeing how you choose to spend your time in port. We've taken land trips to both St. Thomas and St. Maarten, so it's getting harder to come up with new and different things to do!

Thanks for replying to my question. Seems lots onboard are hearing the dock was broken. Still posts asking if it's fixed on my may 6th mariner. Hopefully a one day fix.

Anyone else have any information if the dock is fixed today?

It looks like Wonder OTS is docked there today. Cruisemapper shows them near the dock (not as a dot like it would be if they were docked), but Cruising Earth shows them docked. The webcam doesn't appear to be working.

Now at Cabana Beach in cabana #7. So nice and peaceful.

It's interesting to see the stairs (and water) in different conditions. My sister and I were there last May, and all but the first couple of steps were underwater. On a positive note, they appear to have been cleaned! They were pretty slimy when we were there. Have fun! We really enjoyed both the adult beverages and our lunch.

We are taking the Native Tours Mayan Experience tour. Hoping for the best as I've ready good reviews.

We did a tour with them in September and it was great! The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. They also let us know how much they appreciated that we booked with them directly vs. through a tour consolidator.

I was on my account this morning, but currently can't get in either.

After not being able to log in for a couple of days, I reluctantly changed my password. That did the trick and I am now back in my account. I've had the same password forever, so it was probably time to change it anyway!

Can I just say, on this stressful Thursday at work, these posts have given me a happy escape, thank you for sharing 🤩

Did Kipton Grand Roatan have a day-pass or was access only through the tour company? Looks like an incredible day!

I'm curious about this, too. We stayed on the island in February at a resort about a 15-minute walk up the beach, and we wanted to get a day pass at or near the Kimpton for one day so we could snorkel from the beach. I called the Kimpton to ask whether they sell day passes and was told that they don't, but that we were welcome to visit any of their restaurants or bars. We ended up hanging out at Bananarama for a few hours instead. There are a handful of resorts and beach clubs on that stretch of beach that sell day passes (or simply rent chairs and umbrellas).

Ugh they just cancelled our stop in Costa Maya due to damage to the pier. Apparently the strong winds caused the damage. Bummer.

It always stinks to miss a port, especially if you were excited about your plans. On a positive note, this will give you more time to enjoy your amazing suite and the ship. And maybe your genie will come up with something really cool for you! Keep us posted.

It was something like 15 months after Royal Caribbean trademarked "Star of the Seas" along with other options before it was officially announced as the name of the second Icon class ship. So any revamp of C&A is probably still quite a ways off.

I hope so. We'll finally be Diamond after our January 2025 cruise, and I'm hoping they don't increase the number of points needed before then!

  15. We've been to Falmouth twice. It's kind of far from some of the main tourist attractions in Jamaica. The first time we stopped there, DH and DD did a private horseback riding tour (which they loved) while I stayed on the ship. The second time DH and I got off briefly to buy Jamaican patties and Blue Mountain coffee beans and then spent the rest of the day on the ship. We'd do the same if we were to go again, but honestly I would avoid an itinerary that includes this port if possible. To each their own, but we like to get off and do something (outside the port area) at every port and Falmouth is low on our list.

ETA: I would consider an itinerary with Falmouth as a stop if there were 4 port days, but not 3.

    Thank you!  That was great!

how does tipping work for your cabana attendant?

it wasn’t clear from their website whether they take credit cards. That was one of the questions I asked in the email I sent a few weeks out (to which I got no response). My sister, and I took plenty of cash, just in case. When it was almost time to leave, a woman who was more fluent in English came over with our server and gave us our bill. She helped us convert the total to USD and then we paid in cash, including tip. I can’t imagine they don’t take credit cards, but we didn’t want to risk it!
