Does anyone know what draft beer is available on the QM2 currently. This is quite important :p
-
We are going to pick and mix. Bring on own for pre dinner / Balcony and have a nice bottle with dinner.

The traffic around LHR can get bad. You've just had a wonderful relaxing crossing, you don't want to be stressed about catching a flight. Get the latest flight out and take your time.

Without doubt the best question I have seen on this board. hope they have black cherry.......

Hello
We are visiting Halifax on a TA in August. Quite happy to wonder off and do our own thing, mainly Titanic related. Any thoughts ?
Cheers

Thanks for a fantastic review 1of4. Bought back some great memories.

Are the "food offerings" a factor on whether you take this cruise or not ?
-
I'm struggling to believe some of these responses. Here is a Captain, totally responsible for all our safety, navigating in and out of ports, heavy seas, through narrow channels and sometimes locks in Panama and elsewhere. Do you trust him to do that / Do you trust him to blow a few horns ?
-
Fantastic. The Captain lives a few miles away from us here in the UK. I may well buy him a pint should we meet. :D
-
Thanks so much for that. We were at the front of the Westerdam waving.
Cheers
Mark :D

Thanks for the excellent review. We were on this cruise (8147) and loved every minute of it - even the rain on HMC :)

I have no problem with people smoking and it certainly didn't bother us on our recent HAL cruise.
What did though was people throwing their cigarette stubs into the sea which then blew onto our balcony !
-
Just off that cruise so thanks for the pictures.
You may be interested to know that we had to have a medical evacuation in the locks at Gatun. In the final lock the water level was reduced so that a passenger could be carried off on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance. The remining water was removed from the lock and we sailed out. All quite dramatic and hope the passenger made a speedy recovery

No mention of the wonderful places you had the opportunity to see, the great people of Alaska, the scenery, the wildlife ???????
But you ate well

Well I just finished reading up on the security warnings by the State Department on all of the central American stops on this Panama cruise, which include Columbia, Nicaragua, Guatemala and NONE of them are really safe places:eek:. Even ships tours can be dangerous and in some of these areas tour buses have been stopped and everyone robbed. Taxi's it turns out can be just as dangerous.
I realize that the odds are all with us in that nothing is likely to happen, but I am not sure that the reward is worth the risk. My DW says she is not getting off the ship at these ports of call. I will probably talk her out of that position, but I am not sold on doing anything other than a ships organized tour, even if they are not rated high among previous passengers.:(
Well, we are doing this cruise next month and fully intend visiting all these wonderful places. That's if we survive the mean streets of New York and San Diego on our pre cruise trip

Hi
We are due to finish our October cruise in Fort Lauderdale at 07.00 and fly back to JFK (and on the London) at 15.00. Can anyone recommend some trips or sights to see in this time as we'd rather spend time in the FL area than in JFK
Many thanks

What countries did you visit ?
What sites did you see ?
-
Humble apologies on behalf of us Europeans. Hope you managed to enjoy some of our humble lands.

All flights from the UK to the US will require passengers to display charged battery operated equipment i.e Mobile Phones, Laptops etc as a result of a request from US security. It is expected that these rules will be expanded to other destinations worldwide.

I'm intrigued as to how propping open a cabin door caused drag on the ships performance......
great thread by the way. :D
-
Sorry you had some bad deserts. did you see interesting countries, meet some new people, see something outside your dinner plate ?
-
Maybe I'm missing something but surely your highlights should include the wonderful places you visited, the fantastic people you encountered and the learning and appreciation of new countries. Rather than the food ?
Glad you had a good time though. ;)

Iceland is fascinating. I would suggest you grab a taxi and agree a tour for a couple of hours. I am sure they can take you to a few sights and get you back in time.
