  1. Hubby and I are thinking of booking a quick, impromptu getaway cruise on Carnival Liberty. We have never been on Carnival, and on royal Caribbean 3 times. However, Carnival Liberty fits our timeframe, and we just want to relax and getaway for 4 days. These are the cabins we have to chose from,

Cabin 9205 would be the splurge. It's a suite, but is all the way forward. I've never stayed that far forward, and I have gotten sea sick before, but I've also had men's work great, and not been sea sick. Thoughts?

Our balcony choices are cabin 6441. My TA says it's not over any clubs. It looks like it's pretty close to me,or maybe even the wine bar. What do you think? We go to bed kinda early normally..so would want some quiet.

The other choices are 7409 but it's directly in front of elevators. Noisy? Would seem like it.

8423 is our last choice. It's under the lido, and seating area. I kinda feel like this is automatically out,bc of it being under tables and chairs on the lido.

Sorry it's so long. What would you do?

  2. Hubby and I have been on 3 Royal Caribbean cruises (Oasis Allure, Enchantment). We are taking our kids on Disney this fall. My question is, I am looking to book another cruise for just hubby and I. We are not necessarily, a Loyal to Royal. We'd like to experience other cruise lines.

Which cruise line would you recommend we look into to fit our needs? No kids, relaxation, to getaway from crazy life with kids! Probably a 7 day, but open to suggestions. I wouldn't pay much more than $3,000 for 2, so nothing crazy expensive. Also, if you have a specific ship, let me know!

We live in Florida, so any Florida port works for us.

    Thanks for your ideas!

  3. It now only includes Giovanni's and Sabor. You can choose Chops or 150 Central Park for 50% off their regular price, Chops is 49 so it would be $25 for the first night. Up until Aug 1st it seemed to include all specialty restaurants

I was hoping to do Chops. Though I hear Giovanni's filet is great. I wonder if they grandfather in purchases beforehand. Probably not, too confusing.

  4. I was on enchantment January 2015. I feel like, as long as you are enjoying your vacation, you will enjoy the ship. My experience was a birthday getaway without kids! So, I got to relax, enjoyed watching the ocean pass by, and loved CoCo Cay. Mine was 3 nights, and they flew by. My only other cruise was on Allure for 7 nights.

My biggest problem was that it went to fast. And I'd like to try 4 nights next time I do a shorter cruise.

Everything on the boat was in par with Royal. Good ship, and good food. Nothing at all negative with the ship itself. Enjoy the cruise! I'm sure there are reviews on here to look over.

  5. I have read so many posts that people will actually be successful bringing on water and soda, unopened. My question is, did you bring it inside a carry on? On the flip side, has anyone ever brought drinks unopened in a carry on, and they did get taken away?? Just trying to make some sort of sense of this "rule" lol

    Thank you :-)

  6. first some background, we have mostly only roamed around ports or did RC excursions with a group of people. This cruise is just my husband and I for our 10 year anniversary. So, for this port, what do you recommend? We want to play it safe, but want to take in as much as we can. I am very excited to visit St. Martin!

  7. Is there a way to know how busy the port will be on a given day? I'm curious how busy it will be. I want to go to Maho beach, but we are going to be in port 8-5pm. I'd like to see some of the island, and go to Maho beach. Since Maho seems like such a small area, I was curious how many ships would be in port that day/time of year. I can deal with crowds for a bit on the beach but then I'd like a change of pace! Don't want to be there all day if it's crowded.

Any suggestions of what to do?

I'm curious what other people have done! I'm very excited about this port.

    Thanks :D

  8. It's a 7 day cruise... you'll be fine. The 3 & 4 day cruises have the party /booze atmosphere. That goes for Royal, NCL and carnival. I've cruised all three and the same applies to any short Caribbean / Bahamas cruise. I would say for you to try Holland America if you want to avoid the younger crowd / drinking folks.

Thank you! It does make sense, a 7 day may not be as "rowdy".
