Discount???? Who get discounts on Princess cruises? Am I missing something? Casino discounts, I know about..but other discounts, just curious?

So what happens if your friends decide to cancel, after final payment? Again curious?

If other couple cancels after final payment.. they need to pay up! That's the 1st thing to discuss  prior to any bookings..

As well as fully refundable tickets..& or trip cancelation insurance.

  4. Will b at Coco cay July on RC independence ..trying to figure out weather to rent cabana near pool, or Beach..seems alot of choices all over the island..will b w 2 small grandkids, don't think the thrill park an option..adults want to relax.

  5. I'm also researching back-to-back to back during covid this was a very helpful article.. And gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect.. we are doing back-to-back the end of this month on carnival liberty at port Canaveral ..they're doing testing at the port on a trial basis so we're set with that. The booking agent said he cross referenced us for back-to-back but when I look in my planner and at my documents it doesn't show anywhere that it's a b2b, was there any indication on your paperwork That you would be doing back-to-back sailings?

  6. When we were on the mardi gras in September they said for her 1st season which, this still is ..the Italian restaurant was free for lunch & dinner.. same for the smokehouse And I believe che bang..

We usually do the steakhouse on carnival but but since they had good offerings..decided to skip it on this particular cruise .  you're limited to 1 appetizer 1 entree, you might get away with an extra dessert ..but if they say no that's that  capitano is very good we ate there at least 3 nights  During the week ..

  7. Soooo....I have a similar issue as the OP, but I am being told I have to buy THREE Deluxe packages!

The Deluxe beverage package for my cruise just went on sale for 25% off. I just went to book it for my husband and it said on the Cruise Planner that all adults in the stateroom must book the same package. The cruise leaves out of Amsterdam, so the drinking age is apparently 18. My daughter is 19--and it says that she and I both have to purchase a Deluxe package, too, if we are going to purchase one for my husband. This must be fairly new, because the last RC cruise we went on was in 2015 on Adventure of the Seas and I had gotten the Refreshment package, soda packages for the kids and a beer and wine package (that no longer exists, apparently) for my husband.

My daughter and I both take a medication that has definite drug interactions with alcohol (and there is even a warning sticker on the bottle from the pharmacy), so I had already purchased a (discounted) Refreshment package for myself and my daughter and a soda package for my son. We were waiting for the Deluxe package to be discounted before purchasing one for my husband.

I know people will say to just "pay as you go," but at around $8 a beer, if we did that we would be paying more than the $42 per day (plus gratuity). I also know it won't ruin his cruise if he can't have the package, but I can tell you he would seriously limit his drinking since he'd essentially be paying concert/stadium prices for beers! :)

I would be able to provide doctor's notes for both myself and my daughter. I will call RC today, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue (or had success) in dealing with having to purchase 3 packages with only one drinker in the room.

Really no other pkg for beer & wine.?.odd usually 2-3 levels. also wine pkgs by the bottles can purchase b4 or upon boarding...a bucket of beer( 5)..is 22.00 average. . But sounds like he should pay as he goes .. cant make everyone happy .. dont 4get take 1 bottle of wine each over 21 on board w you ,that should help. .just make sure its in carryon.

  9. As someone said, Reflection is now added, which is good as we're sailing in May. However, it only has info on the current plus its next cruise. Looks like it might be useful.

Has sections on Activities, dining, Entertainment, Shops, Excursions, Spa, Fitness and Services.

I think it's designed to help you get around the ship and get an idea of what activities are available. It also shows the menus for some of the specialty dining restaurants.

It doesn't seem set up to allow you to make reservations for dining or the spa, however. Baby steps.....

I was going to down load this app for a cruise booked for end of this yr. But the reviews from google store were so bad.. (not avail fleetwide, had to b onboard to use, weak signal .)

Shame since other lines have great apps..carnival & Disney.

I'll wait and ck back in 6 mths.. [emoji20]

  11. It's your vacation. You should spend it however you want to spend it. Most - but certainly not all - children greatly enjoy spending time in the kids clubs.

I wanted to take my children on vacation to places of important cultural and historical significance. The only way that I personally can handle doing that is to go on cruises where there is day care, so I can take my children with me all day on tours of museums and cities, and then leave them in the day care as soon as we get back to the ship. In St. Petersburg, my 3.5 year old visited the Hermitage, Catherine's Palace, ran through the fountains at Peterhof, visited the church of the spilled blood, St Isaacs and St Peter and Paul fortress. Everyone on a Baltic cruise - including the people not dragging a toddler - were utterly exhausted because it visits so many exciting cities with long port days. Happy, but exhausted. So for us, the kids clubs allow us to give our children the travel experiences we desire.

On my honeymoon, I ran into a family with a 5 and 7 year old climbing the temples at Angkor Wat. The parents explained they were traveling all over the world for a whole year. I didn't have any kids then, but I was incredibly impressed and didn't think I'd have the strength to do that. And now that I have kids I admire them even more and I know for sure that I don't have the strength to do that. Different parents have different levels of energy, plus some children are much, much easier to take care of than others. On a sea day, you might see my kids in the kids club most of the day and think I was a terrible parent just pawning them off on the kids club. But anyone looking at our vacation photos tells me how impressed they are that I took such young kids on so many adventures. And I smile and think of the family at Angkor Wat, and how they are the ones who deserve those compliments. As long as you and your kids are happy, that's all that matters on your vacation and you should structure it however you want and need. By the way, our children generally go to either the main dining room or specialty dining for dinner, since they enjoy food. But since they eat quicker than we do, it's nice to drop them off at the kids club once they are done eating so they don't get restless and disturb the other patrons (your kid might be fine with long dinners. Mine can generally last two courses).

So go on the cruise, and see how it goes. If you want the option of a kids club, you'd need to sail on Cunard or Carnival. Disney or some newer/refurbished RC ships have nurseries for a fee for children under the age of 3.

Two yrs old may b bit young, but let me share a story ..

18yrs ago ,took our 5 yr old on Disney magic.. every night had to order him to eat dinner w us since he LOVED the kids club.. By the time he was a sr in high school, he had enjoyed

At least 10 cruises ..later years were teen clubs..always had a blast & met nice kids and still remembers camp counselors fondly..

For the last 3 yrs he and a group of friends book a cruise together ...this yr is carnival horizon (new)

He has seen some beautiful places (greek isles & alaska) loves all types of travel , developed an interest in history, all while dancing till the wee hrs in the onboard discos & various margaritavilles throughout the Caribbean ..while he booked the "fun ship" this yr,..dad & i booked celebrity Edge. .

But No..No palming off here..most parents want their kids to have a great time; and look at kids programs to enrich kids vacations,..and if parents get a night out alone to enjoy a show or late night martini etc.. more power to them!

  12. Cute but, feel bad for the cabin stewards that have yet another task to perform with very little time to get everything done.

but they are a lot cuter than the human kind of towel hogs that toss the towel and walk away for the entire day.. x-/

    thanks for sharing Canadian!
