  1. A lot of us regional people do enjoy cruising! :D We just don't happen to always get the same adverts as you city folk, although I have seen the Royal & Carnival cruise adverts where I live on the far south coast of NSW.

Personally I didn't find the P&O advert any big deal having watched the video, but probably because I don't cruise with P&O as I had already decided from their brochures they were not my best fit & because they have a reputation for attracting the more boozy crowd.

But I do agree it's a bit of a stupid advert in the part with the food flying about - what's that meant to say? To me it says no matter how you dress them, a bogan is always a bogan. ;)

Maybe P&O stands for 'Painfully Obvious' as to the crowd they are trying to appeal to?

We enjoy P&O and we are the right demographics for them, also our children really enjoyed their children's club activities and always wanted to go back. It is also nice that they restrict the amount of children on board the ship so you know that they will be safe and youth security is always active. I look at the add on the lighter side, and have not noticed food being thrown anywhere on board. It just shows what free spirited people we are.

  2. I checked that cruise too Sarah as I have a small deposit on it and wondered whether it might be worth cancelling and re-booking but no, they want more than $400 more for the same product! I'm more than happy that I booked in October!:D

I have been told by my TA that once I have booked a RCL cruise and then want to cancel and rebook to get a better advertised price RCL will not allow it. They will still charge the initial price you booked under. Unlike P&O where you can do it. Is this correct?

  3. So, another benefit of living in regional NSW - NO CRUISELING ADS here! No Royal Caribbean ones either. We do see some Carnival ones though!

That is sad, as I am sure a lot of regional people would enjoy cruising too, especially when working and living on the land a cruise would be a great break for them.

  4. For us ice skating is a must, we travel with children and the one thing our children want to do is the ice skating, rock climbing and flow rider, not having been able to ice skate would have put a dampener on their holdiday, certainly not acceptable as that is a major feature on the ship.

  5. I saw the add and must say this is one of the most brilliant adds I have seen, I can watch it again and again and not get bored with it. From the start it is clever and different. Have also looked at the RCL add which seems to fit more the norm, however that one does not grab me as innovative.

I have now decided to refer myself to being a cruiseling and hope my earthling friends will come on the journey.
