  1. Totally agree that the Tuscan Grill is wonderful! Could easily have gone there again, but ran out of time...:O. The filet, with no extra charge, was fantastic. Murano is nice and we were glad we tried it, but I can't say that I will go again in the future. If you an Asian food fan, Silk Harvest cannot be missed...food and service was great, and I tried my first Saki.

  2. Booked an Infinite Veranda this morning for 2/24 Eastern Caribbean. We wanted an accessible cabin, so we decided it was best not to wait. The three perks offered by our TA, clinched the decision.

Excited for more details! Just give me Cafe al Bacio, Martini Bar, and Solarium and I'm all good!! :D

  3. I discovered these amazing drinks at the Martini Bar a couple of weeks ago on Equinox: Black Forest, Chocolate Espresso and Fresca (w/ watermelon juice).

My go to drink used to be a Margarita, but I have a Mojito much more often nowadays...goes with everything and also thirst quenching.

I've never seen a Tootsie Roll on a cruise, but they great as well and simple. OJ and Kaluha, and yes, they do taste like a Tootsie Roll!

  4. I received an e-mail a couple of days ago asking if I wanted to sign up for future announcements about Edge, which I did. Then I saw that they are having a live presentation on Facebook on 3/13 @ Noon ET. Today, a rep called me and also emailed me to please call him with any questions about itinerary or bookings for Edge starting Monday.

    Looking forward to seeing details!

  5. The Solstice is my favourite ship and is truly an exceptional ship, it excels in it's service as well.

Mine, too, Mic...as our Hawaii cruise was my first on Celebrity. However, my second one on Equinox was very good, too! Have two more on Celebrity coming up over the next eight months. I hope I never feel like I'm seeing a downturn in the experience!

  6. Interesting that the Silhouette has already been changed over. Bistro was onboard from the May 26-June 7th cruise. Just got off earlier in the week.

We never got the chance to go there this cruise, :( but I love the main meal crepe's and salads. Thankfully, I will get a last chance on the Summit in October. ;)

Here, here! I, too, will pay my last respects on Summit 10/2 sailing! :(

  7. We are Elite + as well, We don't book AQ because we always travel with friends who book all over the ship so then we can't eat together lol. We have a 6 or 8 top early seating where we have a wonderful time catching up on everyone's day. Our whole group has noticed the increase in the quality of the food in the MDR over the last few years and because of that we hardly ever book a specialty. We much prefer CC cabins due to the great locations (and get annoyed when AQ is cheaper) but if the budget does not allow we will book a regular balcony. CC is more "valuable" to us on M Class because of the increase in cabin size. We are quite happy with the MDR and see no need for BlU or Specialties. We will enjoy the embarkation lunch and will probably use the Concierge. Appreciate

    it all:)

    Well said! Ditto!

  8. Um, what? Who said anything about her gender? That would be no one but you.

OP, I know you were asking because like me you have heard what a great Captain she is.

Yes, that's why we're excited to sail with her! Now, just hoping that she'll be back from vacation and on Summit, by our October 2 sailing!

  9. A traditional lobster roll is a sandwich filled with lobster meat soaked in butter and served on a steamed hot dog bun or similar roll, so that the opening is on the top rather than on the side.

Yes you can walk and eat your whoopie pie at the same time. Pinks is on the right side of the street as you are going up the hill after you get off the tender and walk across the street.

That looks fantastic...cannot wait to have one (in every port? LOL)!!

  10. Thank you, Hydro Kitty. I'm going to look into what changes we can make. We booked the Mardi Gras cruise on a whim and obviously had not done our usual thorough homework on that cruise. Thank goodness for Cruise Critic. Also, thank goodness our cruise isn't until 2018, so we have plenty of time to investigate other options.

Gangway...since you have plenty of time, maybe you should wait and see what those of us sailing in 2017 can tell you about our experiences. My main goal is to experience the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Like DragonoftheSeas, we will doing the private event that has been organized for viewing the parades Monday evening. I'm sure your Roll Call members could do something similar for 2018.

  11. Fantastic!!! Did you watch them in your cabin or did you have to go to one of the bars?

I am pretty certain that any post season games will be on the terrace movie screen. Any cruise I have been on with an outdoor screen catered to sports fans.

Last year I was on a cruise (albeit RC) during the Mets/Cubs playoffs and all games were available on the cabin's TV (don't remember what channel), and also on the TVs in the casino.

  12. Just off the reflection a couple of weeks ago. I was also not happy about the Sushi on five- but must say- after experiencing it have changed my mind. We do not eat sushi, but many other options to enjoy "cooked" food. They had a Ramen noodle soup with big chucks of lobester, and other great Ramen soups. They had dumplings also. I was told by the restaurant manager that they would gradually introduce other cooked food options for those guests who enjoy terrayaki style food.

Also, I found that Sushi on Five had many more guests most days then at Bistro on Five. I guess you have to give it a chance if it comes. Currently if you really dislike seafood-as my DH currently Sushi on Five really isn't for you. Since we had the unlimited dining option on the Reflection, he just enjoyed a Martini at Sushi on Five, while I sampled some cooked food. We then went to the Grill for his lunch.

This is great news! Thanks for sharing!

I personally do not like Sushi, but I would definitely try any cooked items such as soup, noodles, or dumplings...and most certainly any teriyaki offered.

That being said, I hope they still have Bistro on 5 on Summit in October when I sail!! ;)

  13. Glad everything is working out! Always good to have that major part of the trip successfully determined. Hope you have an excellent time! I was in Barcelona last year to embark on a cruise and I would revisit more of Spain in a heartbeat! :)

  14. If it's okay, give us the actual routing - DTW-DFW-MAD-PHL-DTW?

My suspicion is that since this was the week that American and US's frequent flyer programs were merged (but not yet the ticketing/reservation systems) the worst case is that there's a temporary hangup in the "handover" of booking information on mileage redemption trips.

AA-operated and US-operated flights still use two separate booking systems (AA based on the old Sabre platform and US on Amadeus) so your AA locator won't be the same as US's. If nothing changes in a day or two, phone AA and get things cleared up.

I agree! They're still sorting things out for this merger.
