    need to reserve water taxi to Klein Bonaire?

    Hi! We are going next Wednesday (3/28, but leave for cruise this Sat) to Bonaire and 3 of us would like to take a water taxi over and do the drift snorkel. Our port time is 8-4. We were wondering if we had to reserve a water taxi in advance or just show up? Good return, a company mentioned here a bit, is no longer in business. We were wondering what time to reserve for, if we needed to reserve, and how long it should take. Do you schedule a return time also? Do they pick you at beach after or from water? Would you recommend fins or not? Also, does anyone know if Bonaire is same time (zone and daylight savings) as Florida (ship time will be Florida time)? Thanks!

    How much did the taxi cost you? For how many people? Do they charge per person? Did the taxi wait for you at the falls or did you catch another back? If you got another one, was it hard to do? Did you have a number to call? Do they take American dollars at the falls and with cab? Thank you!

    I did 14 of the 27 waterfalls completely on our own without any tour company. All you have to do is get a very safe, licensed cab from the cruise center. It costs only $7 per person to climb the falls and you get a guide that stays with you. (He will expect a tip at the end😊...which I was more tat happy to give him because he basically saved my life 3 times that day... I'm not kidding!

     

    We were there in January right after a flood tore out the bridge to the falls..it was super muddy and very slippery climbing up. If you are not in good shape physically this is not a good excursion for you. I thought I was in good shape but I had to stop and catch my breathe several times on the way up!

    Hi!

    I was thinking about trying to do the whole falls (27). The only trip there that way is Iguana Mama that I know of. They charge $90 pp and there are three of us going. I had read if you go directly there on your own, the cost is $11 pp for guide and equipment, everything but lunch and photographer. I had also read that a taxi taken outside the Amber Cove port costs $60 r/t, with them waiting for you. I am not sure if that is for one person and/or if the price goes up per person? Also not sure if I'll have time. I don't know what time the falls close and how long it takes to see all of them? We get in at noon and leave at 8. Does anyone have any experience with this? If anyone knows about taxi cost and if what I read is correct and if it is for whole group or one person, I'd love to hear from you. Also, any advice about if you think we'd have time to do the whole falls would be appreciated. Also do you know if water shoes are ok, or should I go out and buy a cheap pair of sneakers for it? Do you know if at the falls they would take American dollars? The price on the website is is DR currency.

    how to do sailing excursion and also tour island?

    Hi,

     

    We'd like to the sailing racing excursion which goes until 12:45, but also would like to tour island. We are in port until 6. Carnival excursion for touring island is in morning, so we'd miss it. We'd like to see Marigot and Phillipsburg, but don't want to pay tons for a private tour. Does anyone know if there would be tours we could take in the afternoon, or how hard and pricey it would be to do own own? It would most likely be me, my husband and our 13 year old daughter doing the tour or exploring the island. She's not doing the sailing, so we have to return to boat to get her. Thanks for any advice!

    Are there any beaches you can walk to from port? Or are we better off taking a taxi to somewhere like Blue Bay? (We'll be a adults, 2 kids- unless the kids want to stay at camp on the boat) Thanks!
