  1. The walk from the port to the station is very easy - path the whole way. If you want to stay local to the ship you do have Tilbury Fort (English Heritage site) about a 10 minute walk the opposite way to the station.

When you get to the train station make sure you pick up a 2 for 1 attractions book for London. There are loads of the top attractions in it and can save you quite a bit, all you have to do is fill the coupon in and show your train ticket.

If you want options other than London, you have Lakeside Shopping Center same train as for London or the train in the opposite direction takes you towards Southend on Sea.

  2. Train from Tilbury town is best option. Midweek normally 3 an hour and 2 an hour at weekend. The local line is managed by c2c, grab a 2 for 1 leaflet for discounted entrance in to loads of top attractions. Within walk of fenchurch street you will find tower of london, the shard, London dungeons . if you decide not to do London get the train going on the opposite direction and your within easy reach of Southend on sea, with all the normal English seaside attractions.

  3. Don't use East tilbury, am from the area and there is about 3 miles between East tilbury and tilbury town plus you are going a stop back. Trains are normally 3 and hour mid week and half hourly at weekend. If you use the train ask for a 2 for 1 attraction leaflet in the station loads of top attractions in it.

  4. Hi just wondering if anyone can answer a question for me.

We have booked a cruise with an over night visit to Amsterdam. Does anyone know from experience if there is a set time you have to be back on board by on the first day?

    Tia

  5. We've used the retreat on Azura and wondered if they had the same system on Britannia where you had to arrive early in the day to choose which lounger you wanted. Princess do it differently and you have a dedicated lounger if you book the whole cruise. That way you can pick a sunny or shady spot depending on your preference.

Seems crazy to have to spend over £400 for the two of us and still have to get up early each day to guarantee a lounger in the shade. (Husband very fair skinned)

Anyone got any first hand experience of how it works on Britannia?

When we was on Britannia earlier in the year you choose bed on the day. We only went in once so couldn't say for definite.

  6. P&O will only let you upgrade at the price when you booked your existing cabin.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Do you know does this apply if cost was lower when you booked to current price or do you then pay the higher cost? Only asking as was thinking of upgrading on our upcoming cruise for OH bday but a lot more expensive now:confused:

  7. If you are taking a balcony cabin on Azura, the cabins on C deck are very large. We did the Baltic cruise and it was most enjoyable,I have only heard of complaints from RCI!!

Booked a balcony on Britannia and will look to do the same on azure so thanks for the advice

  8. Hi, when?

We always have to sail in the school holidays so it is a very different experience than out of school holidays (we imagine)

I suppose it is difficult as we don't know what you like to do on a ship - as the IOS is a mixture :)

Please ask if there are any more questions.

Looking at may/June 2018. We like to sit with a drink and a book round pool/on deck during day. Then either show or bar after dinner. Never really used any of the sport facilities on Ios other than ice skating once (just to say we had). If ships in port we are not on board.

Been drawn to p & o for free buses in to town got stung a couple of times over our cruises paying silly money iin taxis from port to town.

  9. Hello people

Looking for advice from anyone with first hand knowledge. Hubby is 30 in 2018 and we are looking at a fjords cruise. P & o are offering one going 29/4 which means being away over our anniversary and his birthday. Having had a look tho I think weather ect may be better on their mid June cruise. So my question is to anyone that has done either of these dates what sort of weather/temperature did you have and how it affected the scenery? If anyone has pics from these time frames they could share I would b really greatful.

    Thanks
