1.
Let's hope. David Doyle of Macquarrie Capital who predicted the 69 cent loonie said a couple of weeks ago we're going to 59 especially if we get another Bank of Canada rate cut which is a real possibility. I really hope he's wrong. Ideal would be 75-80 to keep us competitive but still make things affordable. Current rates are a definite buzz kill.:(
What's next believing the weather forecast?
  2. DW and I are cruising in March and her passport expires in June. The last time this happened Princess cruises required her to get a new passport since the one she had also expired within 6 mths of the final date of the cruise.

While perusing the Celebrity site to see if they also had the 6 mth rule I saw the following:

"U.S. and Canadian citizens on closed-loop cruises, (voyages that begin and end at the same U.S. port) unless otherwise noted in 'Closed-Loop Sailing Exceptions' below, will be able to enter or depart the U.S. with a valid Passport, U.S. Passport Card, U. S. or Provincial Enhanced Driver's License, Trusted Traveler Program Card such as Nexus Card, Sentri Card or Fast Card."

This would lead me to believe that since we are on a closed-loop cruise (and we are not impacted by the Exceptions listed) she will be OK with her NEXUS card.

I'll call Celebrity to confirm but given the variability of their answers I thought I'd check and see if any other Canadians have been able to successfully do this (she'll also bring her passport).

    Thanks in advance.

Yes.We have used our Nexus the last 2 cruises no problem. But we also have our passports you should always have both.

  3. What number did you call? We got ours, but my mom never got hers.

  4. Wow! I think I have been endowed with supernatural powers of perception or deduction powers akin to Sherlock Holmes. Have I guessed correctly you are traveling on Grandeur?

Is there a prize for guessing correctly?

    I hope its not a VIP keyring.😇

I just received email saying we would have 3 drink vouchers added to our seapass card on our August 22nd 2014 cruise..

  6. Did you ever receive your refund. I purchased a ring in May and have been trying to contact them with no response. I am nervous about my credit card number etc.

I also received my refund it took along time. We were back in Jan.26.2014. Bought something but have not received our refund yet. I have sent about 4 emails no reply back. DI said it takes 6 weeks with visa I think we are on our 18th week. I sent email to DI no reply from them.

  7. Hi everyone!

While on board my last cruise, I booked a CS on the 7th deck for a cruise later this year. Now, after I'm back home, part of me thinks I should switch to the other cabin available (on the 9th deck), based on the short walk to the decks I expect we will use quite a bit.

Both cabins are aft facing CS, so there should not be any wind issues. For those that have been in the Summit on the 9th deck, were there any issues with noise from the deck above? Specifically in 9098 or close by?

What say you, cruise critic? Thank you!

We were in 9101 last November no noise from above. Liked it so much booked it again for this November. Now the noise came from the cabin beside when 1 night the man decided not to come back until 4am. His wife was less than impressed.

  8. We were in 9101. In Nov.2013. Great location no noise from above. The only noice was when our cabin next to us the he came in at 4AM she was not impressed with him. Swearing slamming doors. It only happened the 1 night. I also like to have a cabin below and above but I have done it again for next week cruise on the Silhouette no cabin above.

  9. Thanks everyone - I really appreciate it. I'm glad I'm not so critical that I need to be available for work, because I don't plan to think about work at all during our cruise. :)

I've passed along the tips to my dh. It sounds to me like he should be prepared to locate a nice, quiet place to sit and work somewhere on the ship that has a good signal, just in case he can't get one in our cabin. And he should definitely download all email, log off, read and reply, the connect again to upload the email to send. Thankfully he says his company will reimburse for charges. I just don't think they would appreciate getting a $1000 bill. ;)

We were on summit nov.09.cabin 9101. We never had any problem logging in from the room.
