my 2 $100.00 upgrades were useless too, we booked on the epic in nov.2010,i was told to send them in by ncl sales, they said i would get an upgrade or maybe some type ship credit, I got them both back stating they can/t be used on epic, I feel ncl is not fair to there loyal custumers. and i hope they see this . maybe if we write them to complain we will get some satisfaction.

you need to tell ncl to stop changing there minds, i was told i could send my old 100.00 upgrades in and they were giving you ship credits, well i sent in two one for me and my wife and ncl changed there minds again. seems like they should make up there minds . i called and complained nothing done,she told me to book another cruise, oh yea i was also told i couldn/t use them on the cruise i booked because it was a new ship epic. that pissed me off ,but i am still going larry

Unfortunately, the Compass Reward Certificates can only be used by the person who's name is on the certificate, and they must be one of the people in the cabin. can she book a cruise for next year? thats what i did, also if she doesn't want use it can she buy casino chips for someone??? i hate to see her lose them, i lost 2 100.00 upgrades obn my next cruise. my agent said ncl is giving u ship credit so i sent them in and got a note saying sorry u can/t use them for credit or even an upgrade on my cruise because i booked a ba;cony so stupid, i feel we got screwed on ncl credit cards

ok i called ncl 2 weeks ago and told them i only got a n upgrade, i had 551 points, and i sgould have gotten a 500, certificate, they promised me they would get back to me in a week . so now what should i do? thanks larry

Just received my letter. I was scared to open it since my grandkids are here and I didn't want to go balistic with them here. By my calculations I should have had 502 points (one $500 and one upgrade) They calculated 500 points even and sent me 1 $500 cert. I don't care about the upgrade so I'm fine.

I definetly feel like one of the lucky ones.

BTW my last 164 points were between my Dec 8 closing date and Dec 26.

I really feel for all of you who have to deal with the mess.

Okay, just in case there is a problem with points earned the second half of December, and we all end up with some USELESS $100 cabin upgrade certificates, let's be prepared!

 

Everyone should:

 

1. Copy the FAQs posted on the NCL web site: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/cmsPages.html?pageId=CompassRewardsFAQ

 

2. Photo copy your January statement when it comes

 

3. Draw a line under the last December 31 posting on that photocopy

 

4. Add up the dollars posted in December on that bill and calculate the point earned during that time period (multiply that dollar amount by .03)

 

When the certificates arrive in January, if they have not sent out the correct amount, write letters to BOA and NCL with this info. Since the info above is posted on an NCL site, if it is incorrect then they should, with the proof mentioned above, issue a $500 cruise credit good for two years, in exhange for the useless $100 cabin upgrade certificates. I don't think they want to lose their most loyal customs because they misinformed people on their web site!

 

Hopefully, none of that will be necessary, and we will get the correct number of certificates!

i have 480 points, i have 400 in charges outstanding when my bill arrived.i went ahead and paid my bill, and the extra 400 om my updated charges, i was never given credt for this amount, i called and they said it will be on next months points, so i feel they may try to screw us on points because it's when u statement ends date,not when u pay.i'll make because i have other charges too.hope we all stay together as group and fight them on this.

Salsera - We're taking the supervisor's word that we WILL get continue to earn Compass Rewards points until December 31. If we don't, let's all send protest letters to both NCL and BOA!

i just paid for all but $700 for my ncl cruise in may 2009 and they refunded the fuel charges. Only 75 more points to go. I am going to miss this card so much and all the alternatives seem to have the same lousy rewards. Will check into the hilton card but the cruise is my main vacation each year. Oh well!!

i'll miss the card too, does anybody have any ideas on whats a good card to replace my ncl card, i refuse to keep it if the change the terms,we were spoiled but they made money too. Thanks larry

i was wondering are they insured?

I have been corresponding with my TA and NCL representative regarding when we must cruise using the Compass Rewards points. Well, being somewhat skeptical of the answers I was getting I went back to the FAQ section of the NCL website and THE LANGUAGE HAS CHANGED! We have a definitive date ... January 31, 2011 is sailing date they must be used by. The website says:

 

What happens to my Compass Rewards?

 

NCL is ending the Compass Reward program and as stated in the program terms and conditions, you will be issued a Compass Reward certificate(s) based on your December 31, 2008 point balance. Your final certificate(s) will arrive by mail on or before January 31, 2009. You will have one year from date of issue to apply the certificates to a booking, but you will be able to use them towards any NCL cruise before January 31, 2011. Compass Rewards points will not be transferred to the WorldPoints program.

 

This is comforting to have a definitive date. Phins up!

M ta suggested to me to cash in before the years end.that way you will get your certificates, if you wait till end year you never know if they are going honor it, no guarantees i guess

Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered but I need to know before I do something I might regret!

 

Here's the issue: To get enough points for the next $500 certificate, I need to go ahead and pay off my June 09 cruise (the deadline is not until Feb) with my TA. If I pay the cruise off now through my TA, what happens when I get my two $500 certificates and send them in?

that states what a better card we are getting when we have to spend twice as much to get what we've had. Not too excited so I may tell them to change me to VISA SIGNATURE so I get free airport clubs for free booze & relaxation for a flight. I have done a search for cruise cards & just about all I read about have the WORLDPOINTS for $100 OBC for 10000 points. OR you have to use their TA.

 

LOUSY! So maybe we should all call NCL to ask why they are doing this to us. 1/2 the rewards for our best customers?????

so may i ask a question?? if i have 400 rewards points at the end of year, will i get 400 dollars off a cruise, or just an upgrade, because in the rewards booklet you need 500 reward points to get 500 dollars of a cruise, i am so teed off . this happened to me before with carnival cruise line i lost a lot then, i feel like i am going lose this time too. thanks Larry
