Will be picking up friends from Terminal A at POM and wondering if they have anything like a cell phone lot? Thanks for any info.

Sure hope Laura is feeling better. She has another big adventure coming up in just about 2 weeks, and we're looking forward to meeting her on the Vision.
Thanks for the posts and great pix.

I was asking about the Port of Miami, actually. Airports do seem to be easier.

Is there a dedicated pick up area at POM terminals, or is it still a nightmare trying to find your driver?
Thanks for any info.

They tried this back in the 70's and it didn't last long, if I remember correctly. The late sunrise is what killed it. I remember driving to work in total darkness.

The duty free cigarettes you buy on board can you smoke then on the ship or are they delivered to your room on the last day like they do with alcohol?

They go with you after purchase.

Dennis#1, you have mail. Hopefully you're still around.

Thanks for the replies. Water bottles have always been my "vessel" of choice, so to speak. First time CCL cruiser, but lots of experience with another line. Need to research Plan B.

Just curious - how strict are they about the no bottled water policy at Port Canaveral?

WOW....I'm speechless....
You should see the ads popping up on my computer - at work!!!

{Side bar: for you parents of daughters out there...NEVER allow them to go to the Tortuga Music Festival...or at the very least, send them with a chaperone and a swimsuit cover up!}
YIKES - my 16 year old was there!!!

We always use Captain Marvin's when we go to Grand Cayman. They have different tours, but mostly out to Stingray City. Whatever you do, it'll be a fun day!!

Was that a stone crab claw in the Royal Crab Cocktail??? Wonder where they got them from? Frozen, I'm sure. Love them fresh off the boats! How did you like it?

As a local, we love Gilbert's, but it's so busy this time of year. The whole 17th Street area is crazy right now. We did the math last winter, and on any given weekend there could be 60,000 cruisers passing thru!
We'll be taking our boat down to the port this afternoon to watch sailaway, so look for a 22 foot Aquasport, with an aqua bimini, singing "Everybody Dance Now" as you leave.
Have a wonderful cruise!!!

My SIL's father was in the car directly behind the one that almost went over. I remember that morning like it was yesterday.

As a local, we enjoy Duffy's in the shopping plaza right by your hotel. We've tried just about everything on the menu, and the prices are good, with 2 for 1 drinks all day/night. Even though a sports bar, we enjoy it.
Also in that plaza is the most awesome burger you'll find anywhere. It's Gilberts, a little pricey, but, man, are the burgers great!
Enjoy Ft. Lauderdale!

You had said, many posts back, that you met the Silver Fox. Will you be telling us how that went, and if she is, in fact, the love of your life?

ssb, that's about the only thing we enjoy doing in Nassau, other than enjoying an empty ship. The food, or prices, at those restaurants can't be beat. Ceviche can't get any fresher when the guy pulls the conch out of the water right in front of you!! Yummm.

Awesome - thanks so much.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and wishing everyone a very healthy, happy New Year!!

Oasis is finally moving................

We sailed this past August - loved it and wouldn't hesitate to sail again. Of course though, we love the smaller ships. They did a lovely job during her reburb in decorating public spaces to feel very open. We didn't feel crowded at all, anywhere. Crew and staff were very nice and helpful, and the food was great. The WJ is very small, so you just need to be prepared for that. Yes, the casino was warm, but we don't go in there much.
Especially with the fares being offered, I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to sail Empress. Hope this helps!!

Uber is completely legal now in both Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. About time.........

Thanks vplsh!! We'll be there for 4 days, staying in Grand Case, so looking for something different and fun to do, and there's only one ship in the day I want to book it. It's been on my bucket list to do a land vacay there - my very favorite island!!
