  1. They did this on our Jan 29th sailing on the Miracle as well. What a gong show, to manually check off every individual my hand. We were on the "sunny" side of the ship, and to stand there in the hot afternoon sun for over 90 minutes is too much. Our 7 y/o was not too pleased and was hard to keep occupied. There were elderly folks standing in the sun for that long as well and couldn't bear the wait. Mind you, the crew were doing their job to ensure we all stood (could not sit at all) shoulder to shoulder, and no cell phone usage at all, for the complete waiting time. 90 minutes???? really?!?!!? That seems very unreasonable and peoples comfort and well being were not being considered. I do hope this is looked at and fixed to a better system. There were lots of complaints from frustrated passengers, and rightfully so. I am sure Carnival is getting alot of feedback on this.

  2. Just off the Carnival Miracle from last weeks 6 day cruise, and our 7y/o son loved the camp. He met a bunch of new friends his age and always wanted to go back. Still had lots of time to enjoy the pools and the arcade in between his camp times. I kept calling it Camp Carnival, but it's been renamed as Camp Ocean. I have the complete 6 day itinerary is anyone is interested in seeing the daily activities and times. I am not sure I can post it here, but I have it scanned as a .pdf and can email it if you want. Send me a request to sparky dot sirk at gmail dot com, I'd be happy to send the information. Bottom line, it was a great time for the kids and a nice break for the parents to have some adult time and not worry about them.

  3. We will be cruising for this for the first time in 2 weeks time. I will hunt this for you:).

We also are on board in 2 weeks time with our 7 year old. We have him signed up for the kids camp and as long as he wants to go and stays, I can report back as well. He has enjoyed the Carnival kids camp on past cruises, and I am sure it will be the same this time.

  4. That's one amazing 10 YO I think it might be a 13YO because if defiantly worked better than it has before. Yeah

Quantum/Anthem is a new animal and if booking dinners and shows is not something you want to do and you want to eat a specific time and see the shows...I know not everyone cares. The reviews have shown its not the ship for you.

Some People who don't like reservations on vacation are not going to Quantum. I find that if someone gets irritated about reservations they are not sailing happy and will look for and find issues in other areas. That has been my experience from sailing NCL.

Its like a land restaurant. If my family walks in with out a reservation we will get seated but we might have to wait. While we are waiting a family that had a reservation will get seated before us.

Well said. If you don't like the sounds of it, don't go. I had no issues whatsoever. In fact, when a conflict came up, guest services fixed it quickly and easily. Even the restaurants are very accommodating.

Thank you for saying what I was thinking

  5. We're going on the Feb 20th cruise on Quantum but all shows are showing as being booked online. Are you still able to book shows once you board the ship, for example the Starwater show? Thanks.

Yes, you can book your shows online, I did so for Starwater and Momma Mia. BTW, StarWater is an incredible show and should not be missed. They do put on all the shows on multiple days, so there shouldn't be a problem to get reservations. Strongly recommended to get reservations, I see very long line ups for those that try to get into the show with reservations and trying their luck with limited seating. Enjoy your cruise!

This is a pretty great video with some awesome aerial footage. It seems to me that a Drone was used to capture the aerial footage. Great work and use of an UAV. Would have been nice to see a complete fly over from bow to stern, but begger's can't be choosey I suppose. :)

  7. I have only been on a few cruise ships, but FoS is my absolute favorite. The best parts for me was the Sorrentos pizza. (My son and I hit them up for a pizza and a pop before bedtime) Being on the helicopter pad on the bow of the ship for sail away was incredible. That moment when life as you know it melts away and the vacation is actually starting, dolphins (or porpouses) jumpnig along side the ship, all the people on shore waving as you leave the port. There was so much to see and experiance that I don't even think we saw everything. Definately need to see the ice show!! Its amazing and spectaular what those folks can do. And where else can you ice skate in the middle of the Caribbean.

Have a great cruise and happy sailing.
