  1. Hi

I wanted to come back and give everyone an update on what I found out when I called Club Royale...

I was told I will still earn my C&A points for cruises booked through the casino even if I'm using a free cruise certificate. Junior Suite and above gets double points.

Good for you. We won a free cruise with bingo years ago and unfortunately were not given any cruise points after talking to numerous people.

  2. In Dominica you would probably enjoy taking a tour into the mountains to view the beautiful falls and hike around.

A whale watching excursion would be another option. :)

Agree with the tour to the mountains, it is beautiful. Not really much to do in the port.

  3. Thanks for your review, I was on the Jewel during the same cruise and enjoyed the week as well. It was our second time on the Jewel and I would have to say that she is our favorite ship although I miss the Sea View Cafe.. :(

We booked Silvermoon Charters as well in Barbados, our second time with them and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic experience.

We were on one of the other cats though and didn't get to see you!

We were in a JS on deck 10 this time and the only complaint I had was the noise from the pull deck chairs being slid across the floor, the noise came right into our room was disruptive at times.

On our next cruise I've booked a balcony on deck 8 in hopes that the floors between will eliminate the noise! :)

  4. I was onboard when this new promo BOGOHO started last week.

I had my eye on a cruise before I boarded for a 2/1/15 sailing on Adventure out of San Juan and recorded the prices of approx $500 per person for $1000 in fare for two. (I don't have the specific amount but you'll get what I mean in a sec.)

When the sale started I checked on board through the RC website and guess what? Besides a couple of bucks of OBC, the price was really no different then when I sailed. During the cost break down the $500 dollar price rose to a "standard" rate and when it was all said and done to cost was the same as it was before the sale started.

So in this case instead of paying 500 + 250 cruise fare and getting a few bucks OBC you were still paying the $1000 and getting a small credit instead of saving at least $250 in fare and getting OBC.... Very disappointed about what feels like a a bait and switch.

When I pointed it out the Loyalty ambassador on board he kinda smirked and had nothing to say of note...

  5. Hi, I will be on the Explorer in 3 weeks time and ports we will visit are St Maartin, Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados, Curaçao, Bonaire and Aruba. Although I have been to the Caribbean many times I have never snorkled there. Which is the best island (from above) to do this on. Do I need to book before hand or can we just get off the ship and find a tour?

    Many thanks.

In Barbados we booked with this company to snorkel. It was an awesome day with great snorkeling and fantastic service.

  6. Not anymore I believe. If you don't select the actual ship and sail date onboard, the OBC is only $25 across the board when you finally decide to pick your future cruise.

I did it as described for my 11/14 cruise that I made reservations for in March and I'm showing $100 OBC.

  7. .. filled out two names .. put the form in a box .. was billed $200.00

In the future you can put down one name and only be billed $100. When your ready to book you can add the second name and pay an additional $100 to complete your deposit. But, you will get $100 back as OBC. Confused? ;)

  8. I took my wife on our first cruise for her 40th birthday and never played bingo for anything in my life. I ended up winning a free 7 night cruise on the Jewel and was able to upgrade to a balcony for less than $100.

One of the specials for CA members is buying two machines and getting the third free.

I think the Cruise bingos may only be done on the longer cruises.

Unfortunately, a free cruise won't give you any CA points... ;)

  9. Are you interested in Jewel? She is a beautiful ship, and the last one in the fleet with the Sea View Café. We thought she was sparkling when we sailed her although her refurb is not due until 2016, we hear. Please don't let an older TV prevent you from cruising Jewel.

OK OK.... one more reason to cruise Jewel.... shower doors (not curtains)! For the win! :D

    .

Agreed the cafe was somewhat hidden in plain sight and quickly became our favorite. It was also a great place to grab a bite and watch the stragglers coming back to the ship!

  10. I won a cruise playing bingo on our December 2012 cruise.

It was in February of 2013 that I was able to book and get confirmation for the cruise out of San Juan we took in November 2013. I think I may have sent an email to the address listed and after speaking to someone on the phone sent the certificate to Miami.

We upgraded from the outside view state room to a balcony room paying the difference.

We haven't received any C and A points and I am just now researching what steps I should take since I did in fact pay money towards the cruise....
