  1. ahh Tea. Carnival used to have Bigelow tea, all sorts of flavors, on our last cruise, it was just Lipton, Gag me.

Aww man! Guess we'll be taking some tea after all. We only drink Bigelow and the whole family has their favorites. I'd seen a pic somewhere showing the assortment they (used to) have.

  2. My children and nieces and nephews did this at Mr Sanchos. It was pretty darn boring. They walk along a path to a beach do a picture (they charge you for the photo).

Was it worth it? Eh maybe. But if you are into horseback riding this isn't for you.

How was the rest of the day at Mr. Sanchos? Did your family do any of the other activities? I was thinking of letting them do the ATV/Jet Ski combo. Thanks!

  3. My daughters and I had a similar problem with a taxi. We had an all inclusive day at Papitos (beautiful place BTW), asked the driver how much for round trip and he said $50. which I expected. Half way there he calls his boss and than he tells us Papitos is much further away and it will be $100. He agreed to $90 at the end of the round trip.

When I read this webpage I immediately remembered your story here. I think this might have something to do with what happened to you! Now I am a bit worried about the "just grab a taxi". It talks about the huge taxi union and how they only want to take you to places that give them kickbacks.

  4. on a few cruises, the entire ship would know who is late getting back. They would announce the name and cabin number of the party, asking them to call guest relations in the event they got on without checking in. We, along with many of the passengers, would line the deck watching for the party to come sprinting down the dock. Everyone would cheer and call them by name telling them to hurry. That convinced us never to cut it that close.

    lol

  5. This is our first cruise and we are using birth certificates only this time. But for the IDs my husband, 18 year old son and myself all have TX drivers licenses but my 15 year old son only has a school id that shows the name of the school, the school year and his photo and name. Will this be sufficient for his form of ID to get off and on the ship and at ports (Cozumel & Progreso)?

  6. So if each cabin mate entered in the Sail & Sign number and birthdate of the person that signed up they could each use their own Facebook app as long as it was one at a time? (ie: Mom signed up and then in the evenings each family member took turns signing on on their phone's Facebook app for a bit.)

OR is it $25/cruise per cabin?

  7. In many ports' date=' when you leave the ship, your bag/purse/backpack might be checked for food items. There could also be a food-sniffing doggy making sure you don't bring certain food items off the ship. So don't pack a sandwich in the buffet to eat in port.[/quote']

Really? I've read that the "lunch" provided with our excursion was pretty bad and was hoping to bring a few things with me. Especially since I'm not supposed to eat bread and they only provide sandwiches.

If I tried and were caught would they do anything besides just throw it away?

  8. Google cruise ship price monitoring and you'll find the site. It's against the rules of cruise critic to mention websites. I hope you find it! (I'm still having trouble connecting ... )

Did it, ended up finding other sites too but those cost. I ended up choosing Cruise Critic's but it took me 3 different browsers to get the notification form to open correctly. Thanks, hope to see some drops soon!

  9. We saved $5 per person, booking through their partners....looks like that deal is still valid!

I saw that too. I kind of wonder why they advertise on their own site a place that sells their items for lower prices.

We will probably be doing that and then buying any other of the packages once there. Our time will be limited so not sure we can do it ALL like I'd like.

But FYI, I've contacted Mr. Sancho's and they have an age limit/requirement of 18 years old for atv's and jet skis. So my 15 year old son will have to ride with my older son. Sooo bummed about that but I understand (insurance etc).

  10. Last year, we traveled with our kids and grandson. For one port day, everyone except my grandson and I were going on a full day excursion. My grandson and I planned to spend the day at the pool/hot-tubs/waterslide.

The family left, we packed a bag for top-side fun and headed up only to find that they closed the main pool, hot-tubs and slide for maintenance. It was closed for the entire day. So out of desperation, we headed to the back pool & hot-tubs. We were the ONLY people there aside for a lady laying in a lounge chair and security came and told us that we couldn't use the area as it was "adult only". I tried to explain that everything was closed and the area was EMPTY...it didn't matter...so we left.

I really regretted not taking him on an excursion at that point. Very sad little boy and Grandmother. We had planned the day for months....

That was what I was thinking might be a regular occurrence BUT then I'm thinking why would they do that when the ship is in use? They should schedule maintenance like that on a separate day in between scheduled cruises. I feel so awful for you. Sounds like our luck.
