  1. When I tried to order a brochure on line, something I have done a couple of times before, the system said my postcode didn’t exist. Work that one out, because they write to me with that postcode all the time.

  2. Can anyone who has transited the new, revamped Manchester airport share their experience. Not flown since 2019, always departed from Southampton,  but next month we are travelling with Jet2 to Tenerife to join Azura. From Videos I have watched the airport now seems enormous. How was checkin and security, how long did it take. Previously I have always arrived about 2.5 hours before for an EU flight, taking into consideration that if everyone arrives the 3 hours as prescribed there would be long queues. Any advice most welcome, especially from recent users of the airport. Thanks

  3. We travel from Bolton to Southampton 3 or 4 times a year with Intercruises. We stay at the Premier Inn the night before and always leave our car, paying the £20 donation to Great Ormond Street hospital. The coach transfer comes as part of the Select Fare contract and is paid for as part of the cruise  fare package. No other monies are paid to Intercruises. The only action on our part is to confirm the booking with Intercruises. By using Intercruises we are assured that the ship will wait should there be any delay. If there is any major unexpected traffic incidents on the routes into Southampton it will be more than one coach that will be delayed. The coach transfer from Bolton leaves about 7.45 am, although In September when joining the Arvia it did not leave until 9.15 am.  We usually arrive back in Bolton at about 3.30 -4.00 pm. We are always quite satisfied with the service and the journey takes about 5.5 - 6 hours with a short pit stop and a longer break to get something to eat.

  4. We have been using Cruise Connect/Intercruises for years and received excellent service. I have never known them to leave any passengers behind and the driver even waited for passengers who were running late. If as you say that you may have mistyped your email address, that might be part of the problem. Try contacting them again at a time which may be less busy.

  5. I cannot see why he would not be allowed to dine at the event called The Chefs Table. It is an area cordoned off in part of the buffet and in essence is really used as extra space for the MDR on formal nights and the food is the same menu as the MDR on formal nights. The main benefit of booking the Chefs Table is that by booking you are assured of a definite dining time as everyone is seated in one sitting at a given time.

  6. We both got Covid in the week before we were due to join Queen Elizabeth in April. We filled in the Health Questionnaire which you are asked to complete three days before sailing answering that we had Covid.  This triggered a response that we were denied boarding in big red letters. I would print this form off as it is proof of your status. I then contacted my TA, and was provided with a FCC.  We used this to book another cruise on Queen Victoria which hopefully we will embark on Sunday on a jaunt to Norway and Iceland. We hope to be Covid free as we have spent the last two weeks as hermits. Good job we like tennis.

  7. We will be sailing on Queen Victoria in July to Norway and Iceland. We have booked the usual trips with Cunard, e.g. waterfalls and geysers etc. and are wondering what footwear will be needed. We both have walking shoes already, but as these are a bit bulky to pack, would we be OK with sturdy Sketcher type trainers? Perhaps those who have been to Iceland before can advise. Don’t really want to travel down to Southampton in our walking shoes to save on packing?

  8. I am on the 15th April Queen Elizabeth cruise to the western Med.  Does anyone have any details about PLF for Italy?  I was told by my TA that if we needed one (due to protocols changing all the time) that we would be able to do one on board.  Someone else on FB has said that if your visit is less than 36 hours you don’t need one. Some clarification would be useful from someone in the know.  Thanks.

  9. Can anyone tell me what kind of plug sockets are on the Queen Elizabeth. Thought I had read that it was a mix of of UK and US, but I can’t find the posting. Just in case it makes a difference we have a balcony cabin. Thanks.

  10. I have just received a leaflet from Cunard with regard to my next cruise. There is a photo of a group of people obviously having dinner in the  dining room and the man is depicted in a long sleeve shirt and no tie.  And the message is therefore that a jacket is no longer required as long  as you are smartly dressed, as is stated in their advice on what to wear.
