We did not do that exact but similar and longer from Venice ; (overnight Venice- I love Venice at night! )

!). Rome - we do a week but one day - Vatican or The walking Tour with Trevi Fountain & Spanish Stairs; wear trainers take water and KEEP MOVING - Watch for pick pockets, Wear cross body bag in front of you.

    2) Dubrovnik - ONE OF OUR FAVORITE TOURS EVER - We never take ships tours but we took this one - GAME OF THRONES TOUR; we were huge fans and it was worth every penny. So fun!! This tour is intense lots of STAIRS!!!!!

3)Corfu - Took private taxi tour

    4) Messina - Go to Taormina ....in Messina  - The BEST cannoli in my life , is a little local stand = get off ship make a left go approx 2 blocks; on a corner tiny shop; ask a local , look where all the locals are getting their coffee and pastries...  OMG..  as good as the orange peal cannoli in Palermo !!

    5) Naples - Been here multiple times; Pompeii , Herculaneum Sites and then another trip we took the HOHO BUS and went to the MUSEUM that has all the good antiquities the King took out of the dig site - it was great and was much more comfortable than trekking out on that terrible train!

or Take the Bus trip to Sorrento (beautiful town) - but that is a long bus day - Beautiful Scenery but in my opinion not worth all the bus time for so little tour time - But they do have Lemons as big as your HEAD!! LOL!!  Just go to the duty free at the terminal or air port and buy 2 or 3 different kinds of Lemoncello.. Save yourself the bus sickness and go get a Gelato in Naples!!!

6)Flor/Pisa - Been Multiple times--- if you take the Ship tour take whichever holds your fancy But you must see Florence and the museums and DAVID at least once in your life, it is a lovely city 1 day is not enough.  The line for David can take HOURS in tourist season....So keep that in mind..  Get your tickets in advance or book SHIP TOUR IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE DAY>>>You CANNOT DO PISA AND FLORENCE in one day  - forget about it!! Choose! Pisa is a tilted building  - Florence is an Experience.

Have a wonderful safe trip!!   Which Ship are you booked??

We are on the Escape. Thank you for all the great info, especially for Pisa.

  3. Not hard, but the meeting spot is a little out of the way. We asked some of the other vendors and they pointed us in the right direction. I have no problem asking for directions ;). Once we started heading that way, we ran into others looking for the same guys, so we all kind of banded together. You do have to walk a little bit, including up a little hill, so if you have mobility issues, the cabs can take you there. Once you meet up with the LFK reps, it's very easy.

Great thanks for the information, no mobility problems here. Probably need the extra walking with the drinking and eating that goes on for 7 days. lol

  4. I was looking for anyone that may have participated in this excursion. The husband and my self will be in Cozumel in September and we have been at this port numerous times and have done just about everything. Husband loves Tequila and I thought this might be interesting for him but my concern is it's more museum and talking than tasting Tequila. Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

  5. I agree completely, hubby and I are not big on social events and cruising lets us choose what we want to do and how much we can do it. Carnival to me is the best value for the money, we have cruised other lines and always come back to Carnival. I don't need to be babysat and I don't complain I think life and cruises are what you make of them, treat people with kindness and you get kindness in return. I love talking to the crew members and finding about the country's they are from, and I always take care of them tipping wise when they go above and beyond call of duty and on Carnival this happens a lot.

  6. Chefs table was excellent. There was only one thing i didnt like which was the beet blanket. The chef pretended we were the first to try this new menu but i knew what was on the menu by reading all of the chef table reviews on here. The chef was so nice and explained what every single thing on the plate was even the garnishment. The staff was awsome. I had to exit to use the bathroom and one of the waiter staff walked me arm and arm to the restroom on the next floor. He did not want me to fall. Our meal was served in the kitchen. At first i was like WTH but it turned out to be cool. The chef tabke was definitely worth the money. After that i didnt look forward to going back to the ships regular menu. Towards the end i was stuffed. We each received a free photo of all of us at the table

I have a question, was it really loud at the table, I have read several reviews that it was too loud to enjoy speaking with others at your table? We are sailing on the Dream in September and I want to book the Chef's table but also want to enjoy the time. Thank you in advance for your response.

  7. We have enjoyed the Chef's Table on many ships and truly, it is a wonderful experience. The food is incredible. And, it can be a wonderful dining adventure!

That said, our experience on the Dream last year, was horrible. On the Dream class ships, the Chef's Table is held in the galley, as opposed to a private dining room on other ships. All Chef's Tables begin in the galley, with appetizers, a presentation, welcome, and then a tour... It is awesome to see all of that and get a strong feel of how they prepare and put out all of that food daily.... but they all retire to a private, QUIET, dining area, away from the hustle and bustle of the galley.

Our experience on the Dream was that the Chef had to have a microphone to make his presentations, and we heard less than half of what he said. We were literally in a walkway where servers had to raise their trays over our heads to pass through. (Considering, several trays were dropped while we were there, it was scary!)We could NOT hear our fellow guests and therefore, there was no social conversation between us, even during the course breaks. We were rushed out in less than two hours.... it started at 6:30 and we were done and gone by 8:15. (that is appetizers, a tour, and seven courses. ) We were not pleased and hated that experience. It was so unlike all of our previous experiences.

The Chef's Table is a great place for fellow foodies to enjoy, savor, and discuss each course. It should be a dining experience. We just did not have that on the Dream. As a result, we ask before we book the Chef's Table, where it is held? If it is in the galley, we pass. I understand that the new Vista will have a glassed off room in the galley. I will still pass on that. I want the whole package, a complete dining experience. I want to VISIT the galley, but I do NOT want to eat there.

    My two cents.

Thank you very much for this information, it makes me think that we would not enjoy this experience at all. Being able to talk to others about the food is half of the fun.
