  1. I am cruising on Liberty for 3 weeks starting Sunday Dec. 1 for 3 weeks. On that cruise I will be receiving my 2nd Liberty glass block. I am looking to trade it for a different one. I have a Liberty,, Navigator and Serenade block. Maybe someone who is on the ship when we are on is interested in a trade. We will also be on January 19 & 36. Will be on Celebrity Eclipse for the April 10 & April 20 cruise. Just thought it would be easier to swap if we overlapped on a cruise. Let me know.

  2. We stayed at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken. Got it for 94/nt plus taxes through Priceline Express. It was easy to narrow down which hotel we were getting. The regular rate was about 230. Great location with a ferry to NYC outside it's door. We used Uber to the port.

  3. Just an FYI, the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken via Priceline Express ($96) worked out great! They have a ferry to Manhattan right outside the door, which made for a great day of sightseeing before the cruise. The Lyft to the cruise terminal at Cape Liberty was around 30 dollars after applying a coupon. You can usually predict the hotel on PLE by looking at the area, star number, review rating, and per cent off the regular price and comparing it to the regular PL rates. Just thought I would share this. Currently on the Vision of the Seas repositioning to Galveston.

  4. That's a great score, but you did choose a 3.5* hotel, which is the lowest category I would ever choose in these areas. You also have the advantage of being from NY and better understanding the overall area.

The price was $96, but what were the taxes and fees?

The taxes and fees were 20+ dollars, but that would be the same regardless of where I booked, since it is based on local and state fees. Yes, I looked at 3 Star and above and chose the 3 1/2 star.

  5. Update: when I use Priceline Express, I am usually able to figure out what the mystery hotel is by comparing "percentage offs", number of stars, guest ratings, and location. Plus, I check out Uber costs behorehand, since for 2 people, it is usually cheaper than the hotel shuttle (x2.) Well, that is what I did and guessed the hotel correctly. I got the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel in Weehawken. It is 3 1/2 star on Priceline. The regular price was $239 on most sites and I got it for $96. The UberX price from the hotel to the cruise terminal was $18-24. From the airport to the hotel it was just slightly more. We are not sure of our plans that day before the cruise, but it appears there is plenty to do in the area including a convenient ferry to NYC. I am originally from NY and love it, but not so sure I can convince my husband who I have taken a couple times. We shall see. Btw, Wifi is free in the public area, but 9.95/night if we choose to get it. I signed up as a Starwood's Preferred Guest. Maybe that will help, but wifi is not the be all, end all. I realize it is not the "closest" hotel, but we have plenty of time to get to the ship on cruise day.

  6. We are also going on the Vision repositioning cruise, flying into Newark on the 22nd. My plan is to use Hotwire or Priceline Express. Looks like you can get some pretty affordable rooms that way. You pick what star hotel and location you want. They then assign you a hotel. We have done that in many cities with few problems. Then we plan on ubering to the port on Monday.

  7. I always bring my own shampoo. The stuff in the dispenser does not work well if you have any hair. I guess there are no conditioners in it, so it is hard to pull a comb through after. Regarding the Virtual Balcony, I agree it is not worth the extra cost. Just takes away seating.

  8. Ship: Legend of the Seas

    Cruise; 11/30 - 12/15 Panama Canal Eastbound

    Deck: 2

    Cabin: 2011

    Type: inside

    Forward

    Port

Room never got cold. They attempted an a/c fix twice. Improved, but never got overly cool.

    Close to elevators

Cabin is next to a maintenance room, so there is noise whenever stewards are working in there.

Speaking of noise, our steward Carlos was always shouting and laughing with people in the hallway with no respect for us. Very noisy, even early.

Carlos was below par as a steward. I've cruised RC 15 times previously and he was not very good. Everyday he would turn the end table sideways to make the bed, but would not turn it back. We kindly asked him to, but on the 15 day cruise, he did only twice. My bf had to fix it everyday night.

The last 3 days of the cruise, he did not replace our glasses in the bathroom, thus we had to get glasses from the bar to take vitamins.

    Barely cleaned the bathroom.

Other observations: broken light switch behind the bed. ( did not report)

Cloth shower curtain in bathroom. No storage cabinets in bathroom.

Only 1 mirrored storage cabinet in room. Always have had 2 in past.

The mirrored door actually fell off one night. Maintenance repaired it. Still didn't use it as it bumped into the phone every time we opened it.

Ceiling started falling down one morning. Fixed quickly.

Closet must have been raided for hangers. Many missing. Asked for more and got some plastic ones.

Half the number of usual shelves in closet.

Biggest complaint: hallway noise plus maintenance noise

Would NOT recommend cabin. We joked about being stuck in steerage.
