My family is also sailing on the 7
25 trip. We just left port. This is my first princess cruise.
Check in was easy and quick. We picked up our medallions at the peir. I figured my daughter's would like something different for their medallion tags, so I ordered air tag holders which hold the medallion, we will see how long they last.
Many of the bars don't have menus out. They have QR codes.
Here is the first day patter. They are have some activities.
The medallion app is having issue and they are still working on them.

I'm cruising in July (under 40 days) and I haven't been able to print luggage tags. I keep seeing this

Luggage tags will be available closer to your departure date.

Last year, i bought this fan and took it on our cruise. Its small but rechargeable so at night you could unplug and put on the nightstand, and have it closer to you.
OPOLAR Portable Travel Mini Fan... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071W2S7M8
Thank goodness i did. The room we were in (different cruise line) was unbearably hot.
I just left it plugged in on the desk and aimed it toward the beds. I also brought a 6 port usb charger to keep all the electronics charged. its a small fan but it helped.
You might ask the special needs dept for an extension cord to get to closer to the bed.

I have wore similar tops to formal night on RCI on several cruises, without issues. I usually carry a shawl/sweater or coverup because the dinning rooms can be chilly.

For my August 2019 booking on Armonia, i wanted to get the non alcoholic package for my 2 kids, but when i tried to add it, it added it for all 4 people in the room.
-
My family and I had an accessible room for 4 on Royal Caribbean's Oasis. The room was large. It had a chair that folded out to a bed. My youngest liked it but I only thought it was ok, to sleep on. They brought in a roll away for the 4th person, which was folded up each morning.

i cant believe this. i was so looking forward to this cruise in August. i dont know what to do, cancel or wait and see what happens. I dont think i want to go if the substitute different ports but it too late to book something else. Cuba was on my mothers bucket list.

i have 2 kids and so make a point of playing games lot during a cruise. So we bring cards, uno, backgammon, dominos. This time i might bring a travel clue. I like sushi go but my kids prefer Exploding kittens so that might go also. I have seen people bringing bannanagrams so take whatever you like to play.

I have 2 kids and we take 2 blow up flotation mats with us in our beach gear along with goggles, snorkels and some beach toys. They are easy to carry and with 2 my kids dont fight over them. We deflate when we are ready to leave, they dry back on board and are easy to pack.

we got a cabana on our Aug 3018 cruise and we weren't able to select the cabana it. We were told it was assigned when it was purchased. We ended up with #1. it was the last one out on the jetty in the back row.Good view of the water to the side but not much view of the private swimming area. my kids enjoyed the swimming area. Had a rocky wall they'd enjoyed examining and there were lots of fish in the water. little far to walk in the heat for drinks. It was a little noisy as the jet ski rental was directly behind us.
They offered snorkle equipment but you had to go to another area to get it. the float mats were nice. The couch and lounge chairs were great overall it was nice to try. It rained off and on that day so it was great to have covering. The rest of the island cleared out fast but we were able to enjoy the whole day. the buffet was good and close by. There was someone bringing drinks but it was only the daily special in the special cups.
The area with the cabana has lounge chairs for the suite guests.
the price is going up once the finish the renovation on Cococay, spunds like they will have a lot more in the various areas. so we were glad to try it but not sure it would be worth it when the price goes up.

One of the first things we do, after getting lunch, is to read the activities list. We look for the evening things we want to do and find out when we can register the kids at the kids/teen clubs. Its usually in the afternoon and see when the kids orientation/meet and greet the first night. we make sure the kids go, because its a great way for them to make friends. Then were explore the ship.

My daughter's 15 and 12 like the kids/teen clubs on Royal caribbean. My older daughter has made freinds on every cruise. They have been cruising since they were 6 and 10. They were ok with the kids clubs on Carnival. If you select one of newer bigger ships there is as lot more activities. But the kids clubs keep them entertained on the smaller ships.

we were on the oasis last year and they had a person with a cart of water as we got off the ship on port days. They wrote down our folio number and we took one. So easy

As for the teen club. I walk my daughter there on boarding day to make sure we both know where it is and to make sure the registration is all good. After that, she goes by herself.

it can happen. i got a last minute sailing for 4, last aug on the Oasis. It ended up being a inside handicap accessible room so it might have been held to the last min. I booked within a week of sailing and the price was as good as i paid this year for a inside cabin 8 months out.
The problem was i didnt have time to research anything, it was a new ship for us, and barely got the documents in. The online purchases closed the next day so i was get a few reservation for shows but we missed out on a few things.
overall it was great trip

The shampoo that is provided is more like a liquid soap. Its body wash/shampoo.
I dont have to use a specific type of shampoo but that stuff drys my hair out so you really want conditioner if you decide to use it.

I will also be on that sailing with my 14 year old daughter. She is shy with those she doesn’t know. Elena feels that everyone else in the teen club has a friend from home. What is your daughter’s name? I will tell her to look for her.[/quote If you are on the roll call maybe the teens could chat ahead of time.

My 15yr old has been going on cruises for several years now and while she didnt really like the kid's clubs, she does enjoy the teen clubs. The activities are good for getting them to male friends.
We go and check out the club when we first get on board and sign her up, get the schedule, etc. The have personnel there to go through any needed paperwork and sometimes the can meet other teens then. Its a low key way to check out where the club is and she get to know where she needs to go. Then going to the first night induction is important, its where they start to make friends. In the past, I have walk her part of the way to the club, but only as far as she was comfortable with.
The roll call or facebook groups are a good idea, also. If you have an active roll call.

I alway bring these clothespins with hooks. we hang the wet stuff on the bathroom clothesline until they stop dripping and then move them to hang around the room. I think they dry faster. And with 4 people, 2 kids the clothesline fills up fast and we dont usually have a balcony.

My family saw it last Aug on the Oasis. I liked it and so did my kids. I had not seen it before and thought it was well done and was glad we got to see it.
We had reservations near the end of the week and got there 15-20 min early and had seats about 4th row in the center.
But I dont like the whole reservation thing on this ship. They made it seem like the shows were sold out. You still had to get there early and wait in line and then there plenty of seats on the sides, etc.
If you sit on the ends and the first row the "cats" will come and interact with people.
Also during intermission, people could line up and have their picture taken with one of the cats, Old Deuteronomy, i believe.

if you have an Android phone you can download the Kindle app on your phone and read on it. Then you dont have to carry an extra device. I have a lot of books on mine.
i think the iphone has a book reader you can download.

I travel with my famult and tge clotbes line in the shower is always full and things take forever to dry.
I found that hanging clothes pins like these are handy. With these you can move the items out of the bathroom to let them dry faster.
i get them at the dollar store for a pack of ten

My daughters have 2 middle names on their passports but the cruise ticketing system doesn't have enough room for both. So on our last cruise, we have been on several with this cruise line, they got flagged as having having an issue because the names didnt match and the checkin agent had to get a supervisor to override the issue. Seemed like they were used to doing that override and it was only a few minutes but was a source of stress for me.

Love the new way to do safety drill. It was so easy.
We were taken right to our room, probably because it was the first cruise. We watched the film and then went to explore the ship and went to the muster station.
The draw back is as you walk along all the muster stations they keep asking if you want to register at the muster station. Then the captain went over the safety features before sail away also.
