Hi - I recently booked our first Viking river cruise and was surprised by the price of insurance from Viking as compared to other carriers. Does anyone know why the Viking insurance is so high? Is there really a benefit from using Viking over another carrier?

Hi - It has been a while since we have cruised Celebrity - do they offer bar soap or body wash in the cabin showers?

We have also used Angel Tours - walking tours of Rome and they were wonderful. They brought everything to life with little known facts.

WE really enjoyed the Albergo de Cesari - perfect family run hotel and GREAT location. If you ask the hotel for a restaurant recommendation they will send you to one that sits a bit behind the hotel but we found the restaurant right next to the hotel to have the best pizza/food that we ate in Rome. Unfortunately we tried it on our last day there but I am going in March and will check it out again.

FotoPeg - Sounds like us! We have only done Caribbean with our kids but DH and I prefer Europe. Are you on your second Viking cruise or did you try another line for your first RC?

Hmm - can anyone compare the brands to ocean cruises? I am just looking for perspective.

Hi - We are avid ocean cruisers but have never taken a river cruise. We usually book on Celebrity or Princess depending on itinerary. We understand that river cruising is slower and does not offer big boat activities but we are interested in giving it a go. I am looking for a starting point in terms of the companies that offer river cruises - there seem to be many. How does Viking compare to AMA or to Uni? Or others?
