Thanks for the replies. That pretty much seals it for us to stay put. I was leaning that way anyway but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

We are sailing on the Fantasy for the first time this summer and have booked a room with 2 portholes on the Empress deck (E7) We have been offered an upgrade to an interior on the Verandah deck (V8). While the idea of being closer to the Lido is appealing, I am concerned about 3 items: losing the portholes (although I have read that sometimes they are so dirty you can't see out of them anyway), it looks like the Verandah cabin will be under the fitness area (maybe? hard to tell from deck plans) and also deck plans look like the Empress cabin is quite a bit bigger than Verandah cabin. Anyone have feedback?

According to Chris, this morning, he said they expected approx. 600 PAX to debark last night but the total was about 1250 who left after 9 p.m. yesterday. For clarification, the Mississippi River was closed to marine traffic at noon on Friday because of approaching Hurricane Nate. The Dream was supposed to dock early Saturday but was not allowed to sail up the river until Saturday afternoon. We reached the port a little before 9. Passengers were given the option listed above
The Dream was supposed to dock early Sunday in New Orleans but docked instead Sunday night around 9:30. We were given the opportunity to disembark Sunday night or wait until Monday morning.

Very interested in this comparison also. Fantasy is less expensive for us so deciding if worth it. Husband enjoys the EA Sports bar but says it's not a deal breaker that Fantasy doesn't have it. I also heard that Fantasy was getting the Hub. Did this happen or is it supposed to happen soon? Does Triumph have the Hub? Thanks for any info.

Do you recommend the pre-paying for the garage? We have considered pre paying but now think we just want to wait until we get there. Is there a chance that the garage could fill up?

So it has been awhile since I have cruised RCI and I can't remember what the pool towels are like. Are they huge and thick like Carnival or are they thinner? In some ways I like the thinner because the Carnival towels would get so heavy when wet, but I like my towel to cover the lounger also!
Does RCI also have the towel huts on the pool deck to check them in and out with the room card or are they available anytime?
Trying to decide if I want to waste precious packing space for larger towels!

Thanks for all the replies. I think we will be fine on deck 9. Hubby was just hoping for pizza at all hours. Especially when watching the movies on the outdoor theater.

Does anyone have any recent Kids Club Compasses from Freedom of the Seas they could share with me? We will be on the Freedom on April 3 and my 10 and 11 year old would love to see possible activities. Thanks!!

So to clarify: the Windjammer is open all day until 9 or so, even between meals?

Hello! We are booked to be on the Freedom this spring in a cabin on the 9th deck. We have cruised RCI before on the Navigator. However our last 2 cruises were with Carnival. Specifically we cruised the Dream on our last trip and our cabin was directly below the lido deck (buffet). I was really nervous about noise but it wasn't a problem. Actually my husband LOVED being directly below the buffet so he could easily grab a snack or drink at any time. He would like to do the same on this cruise but he is remembering that on the Navigator the buffet was only open during meal times including water/tea/lemonade and if he wants something at odd times he will have to go to the Promenade. Is he remembering correctly? Would we be better to try to change our cabin to closer to the Promenade? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I would also love to have dailies sent to me. Never sailed Norwegian before but am looking at sailing out of NOLA. Any kids info is appreciated also.
Thanks! !

My 10 year old loved the scavenger hunts also. She is very competitive and it was how she met friends. My 8 year old is more creative so she enjoyed any of the art/craft activities.

Great, great review! We are sailing the Conquest in 10 days so your review came at the perfect time. Love the pics and videos! Thanks for posting!

We also have sailed Disney. Once on Wonder and once on Magic. Have Fantasy booked for this Fall but after sailing NOS last spring break we are seriously considering canceling Fantasy and booking the Freedom for this fall. The price is just so much better. Can't wait to hear more of your review.
low sodium, low potassium diet
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Hello there! My family and I will be on the Spirit this December and my father-in-law is on a restricted diet due to kidney disease. He would need a low sodium and low potassium diet. I have heard that if we contact the special needs team they can put us in touch with the maitre d and my FIL will be able to pick out a meal every day for the next night in the dining room. My question is: what can he do for breakfast and lunch? Can he go to the buffet and request items with no salt? He also is diabetic and needs to watch carbs as well. I figure Carnival can be accommodating but we are just wondering what his options may be. Thanks for any advice/help!
