  1. Hi,

I have a few random Rome questions if someone can help!

    1. Would you suggest that it's better to go to the Vatican first thing in the morning or later in the day? I've seen mixed opinions. We do plan to purchase tickets before we go, so no issue with line length, but I was just hoping the lower the crowd level the better.

    2. Can someone confirm the correct website to pre-purchase Colosseum tickets? I've seen several and really can't decide which one is correct or if they all are, just with different prices and fees? Is it this one?: http://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm

    3. Is it worth booking a tour at the Colosseum? Or is it just as easy to do it on your own? Whats the best time of day to go here, in your opinion, since the tickets aren't for specific times (or at least not on the website I listed above) if we're not booking the tour.

    Thanks for any insight/opinions!

  2. Hi all,

I'm hoping someone might have this information for me. We are in embarking in Barcelona on May18 and leaving port the following day, May19 at 11PM. I have read many places that the T3 bus runs on a similar schedule to the cruise ships but was curious, if we are not leaving port that night, does anyone have any idea what time the buses will start running on the morning of May19? We'd like to get an early start on the day and are wondering if this will be fine or if we should just opt for a taxi, although I'm not sure of their availability either if we're the only ship docked that early.

I appears there may be another ship coming into port at 8AM on May19; however, it may be a smaller ship than ours (we're on HAL) and if so, may be berthed closer to Las Ramblas anyway where a shuttle may not be necessary. (I did not thoroughly research this other ship which we are not on)

Anyway, wondering if anyone's had an overnight dock in Barcelona and can recall what time the T3 started running following the overnight stay?

    Thanks!

    Pam

  3. Thanks, Campolady and DragonoftheSeas! I appreciate your advice; I suppose we'll push back the time then, just in case... or maybe we'll just opt for the taxi and head out super early to try to beat the crowds and just mill around until it's time to go in... ugh, still so undecided ;)

DragonOfTheSeas- your pictures are awesome (and in fact are the reason I'm re-considering the tower). I love the little architectural details that are hidden above.

So much to see, so little time!

  4. Hi,

I appreciate all the information I've read so far. We're headed to Barcelona in May and plan to visit Sagrada Familia (obviously); I've been debating the tower climb necessity and actually still am; we have such a small amount of time in Barcelona and want to see as much as we possibly can. However, my real question is the time question. Many people have asked about being early, but what if we're late for our time slot? Will they still let us in?

    Thanks for any input,

    Pam
