It has been a while, but Tulum was very worth the trip. Not sure why anyone would take an excursion that included a side trip to see large sinkholes in the ground however. The only potential downside is the ferry boat ride over to the mainland and back - it can get really rough in the channel between Coz and the mainland.

Can confirm re the ferry ride. I have never been more seasick.

So we plan on using the adventure club for out 4 and 8 year olds.  How exactly does it work.  Do we have to register every day or is it a one time thing at the beginning of the cruise.  Do they give you a pager in case there are any issues?  Also could the 4 and 8 year old be together or must they be separated?

Which ship will you be on? Adventure Ocean is slightly different on "amped" ships versus non-amped.

    I have to disagree.

Meals charges are per person, not order extra and feed two more adults.    Those without the package need to pay the cover.   So sad to suggest putting the manager in an uncomfortable position  to say no to the passenger and fear a bad review.

Frankly, I was shocked to read the initial post  suggesting the sharing ( with adults).

Maybe I misread or misinterpreted the initial post. I read it as they would just sit at the table, drink the wine they have the beverage package for, and maybe take a bite or two of food to taste. Not that they would be ordering extra food, or sharing plates. If the latter, I agree with you.

We just went there this week.    After our day at Labadee, my oldest son (age 11) announced that he never wanted to go on vacation again and requested that next year we go on vacation while he attends summer camp so he doesn't have to travel with us.  Columbus Cove beach on Labadee was quite lovely, but RC has failed to provide appropriate infrastructure to ensure that families can enjoy this location.  It was a brutally hot day, with a  long walk down the pier to get to the tram which was overwhelming for our 3 year old since we didn't bring a stroller because its hard to use a stroller at the beach.

I think you would enjoy CocoCay more. There is still a long walk down the pier, but they have trams available. And the infrastructure is amazing. There's a great splash park for kids, a full waterpark for older kids and adults, a pool, multiple beaches. The food I had at CocoCay was among the best food I had all week. They were making fresh flour tortillas!  Highly recommended as a private island experience.

We are traveling with our adult kids. On Embarkation Day if my husband and I who have the UDP want to have lunch at Giovanni's can my son and DIL join us and have some of what we order? All 4 of us have the Deluxe Beverage Package and hoped to have a few glasses of wine and a light lunch as we reserve our shows and dining. Thanks for the help!

Ask the Giovanni's manager on the ship. Be polite and don't overdo the sharing and maybe? I wouldn't count on it, though.

I've searched it but can't seem to find it.

    Thanks

As far as I can tell (and based on my experience on the Oasis last week) the survey no longer exists. You'll get a 3-question "Health Status" survey and probably an email telling you to go fill out the 24-hour survey, but it isn't there. They only looked at the 3-question "Health Status" survey at the pier and asked no additional health-related questions.

Just got an email today that said “Fill out your health questionnaire on our app when you receive it the day before your sailing. ”.  So it would appear there is something additional to answer on the app, the day before sailing. It does sound like it is the same or similar to what we use to fill out at the terminal prior to boarding. ‘Are you feeling I’ll, etc.’

I received the same email last week but no additional questionnaire ever appeared. Looks like the email is a vestige of previous questionnaires and sent in error.

On previous cruises, you answered a few health questions at the terminal just before boarding. Is that still being done or will the ‘Health Status’ being completed satisfy that requirement?

Just off the Oasis and there were no additional health questions, in person or in the app, other than the 3 "Health Status" questions.

First time out of Bayonne.  We will be dropped off at the port (we will have baggage to check). When entering the port is there a separate line for this apart from the parking line?

Second question is about Dining. We were signed up for Anytime dining but read most days you can't get a reservation till after 7:30 pm and early dining can be closed upon embarkation.   I just switched us to 5:30 which is a bit early as we usually like 6:15 or 6:30.  What is everyone's experience with dining reservations?  Also can we choose Early dining for me and My time for spouse and if we can reserve early upon embarking switch mine?  Thank you.

Just off the Oasis (8/21.) The drop off line is the same as the parking line. If you have an early check-in time, you'll be okay traffic-wise. As far as My Time Dining, reservations were limited by the time we got to them in the app on Day 1. (We wanted to reserve activities first and then dining based on the activities.) And on the formal nights, the Dining Room was extremely busy and there were long lines, even for those who had reservations. I like MTD for the flexibility, but the execution on a full Oasis was not great.

  11. I just noticed on the Royal eMed FAQ that you have to be 5 years old to use it. But I wonder whether that's language left over from before the recent change allowing unvaccinated minors to use a proctored antigen test. Anyone have any experience using a proctored antigen test (eMed more specifically) with a minor under 5?

I got the email today as well for our upcoming cruise (for our two vaccinated children), and so did our friends who are traveling with their kids. We checked in weeks ago and the vaccination cards were accepted within the app, so RCCL should definitely know they're vaccinated by now! It's silly that it's happening for everyone...I may call RCCL just to have full peace of mind.

The body of the email itself implies that you should ignore it if the person is vaccinated but, regardless, boarding day Antigen testing was eliminated for unvaccinated children in the new policy. I think this is a case of a long-ago written and automatically-scheduled email going out, despite the fact that it is no longer applicable.

Looks like we may be on the same sailing, btw. Have a great cruise!

All unvax still require testing. Also, the supposed new rule about no testing does not apply to Allure which is doing sailings longer than 5 days.

Yes, they still require testing, but they do not require boarding day antigen testing at the terminal like they did in the past, which is what the email is asking people to register for.  I just got mine today asking me to register for boarding day antigent testing for my unvaccinated kids and, based on what I'm reading on the Healthy Sail Center, I'm just going to ignore it. (Bold and underline below is mine.)

Starting with August 8, 2022 departures, we will revise our testing requirement for most U.S. sailings:

    • • Fully vaccinated guests will only have to show a test result at boarding if the sailing is 6 nights or longer.
    • • Unvaccinated children will still need to show a test result to board all sailings, regardless of length. However, they will not need to test again at the terminal.
    • • Guests will now have the same test standard, regardless of vaccination status: You can show a negative test result from a supervised PCR or antigen test taken within the 3 days before your boarding day. Learn more.
    • • This revision does not apply to guests whose itinerary visits Canada or Bermuda. They will still need to follow our current testing protocols until further notice.

Can't vouch for the full process because I haven't had the appointment yet, but I made the appointment on QuickMD and it was very straightforward.

As an update, I had my video appointment today and it was extremely quick and easy. The provider asked to verify the dates (they had me upload the positive PCR test to their system in advance) and whether I still had any symptoms. Once that was done, we ended the call and I had a Document of Recovery which appears to meet all of Royal's standards within 10 minutes.

To raise an older thread, we are cruising on the 14th Aug (25 days) and still haven't had our cruise docs/luggage labels. We are all checked in and other members of our party have had their cruise docs/luggage labels. We have phoned RCL and had our TA chase it and have been told can we could get them anytime up too 2 weeks before sailing. (Understanding RCL customer services don't often know what's going on)

Has anyone had docs arrive within two weeks of sale date? is this the new norm?

Normally we have them at the 30 day point. We do have a pending royal Up bid still, but i wouldn't imagine that has anything to do with it.

Just got mine for our 8/21 cruise today--21 days out.
