  1. Ok, so local news this morning stated that RCCL will not require proof of vaccination sailing out of Florida and Texas due to Governors executive orders. 5000.00 fine every time if they ask for proof…..but they put this statement out Friday “Those who are unvaccinated or unable to verify vaccination will be required to undergo testing and follow other protocols, which will be announced at a later date," Royal Caribbean said on Friday. So if legally they can’t ask how can they undergo “testing protocols”? Is it just going to be another question on form before boarding? Like the one now? Have you been sick etc in last few days?

  2. No, if one wants an all inclusive and one wants a soda, water or whatever it’s fine! Just can’t book thru the web site you have to call....

Was on Allure last week, I’d walk up to Bar get a beer and a sprite (with cup) they never wanted to see her “coca cola” card. But I was polite and smiling. I saw a person with wife and 2 kids with his suite cards just being a TOTAL “A hole” at hot dog joint order 2 beers and 2 waters after holding up line server said “sorry sir you must get to back of the line for the water your package only allows 2 at a time”. I got my miller lite, sprite and a water with one card next in line.

  3. FYI - if you cruise on or after December 31, 2017 and one person in your cabin buys the alcohol package, all adults in that cabin will be required to buy one as well. I spoke to a "resolution manager" with RCL today as we are cruising on Oasis in a couple weeks and on the Rhapsody in January. My husband always bought the beer package, however beginning December 31, 2017, fleet wide, if one person in the cabin buys the alcohol package, all adults in that cabin over 21 are required to buy (even if they don't drink). Does not matter to RCL if the other adult is a non-drinker. I explained to the resolution manager that I have a medical condition and explained to the "resolution manager " what is was and that it does not allow me to drink......does not matter. So much for the "exceptions" that I saw on one website of pregnant; medical condition; personal preference and/or religion. Needless to say, even though we are Diamond Plus, Rhapsody will be our last cruise. Thanks for the compassion RCL...NOT!

When you call you'll get one of 3 locations. Miami, West Coast (Oregon I think) or Honduras (or somewhere in Central America) it is not uncommon to call 3 times and get the three different locations. My first two questions when someone answers is where are you located and how many sailings have you been on? West coasts answers are usually "none". They usually end up asking me questions. Lol. You are the only one I've heard of being told "no"! I call the c&a number and booked the sip and stream for of our sailings after the first of the year. I just said Heather can't have more than one or two glasses of wine a day due to meds. I was never questioned

  4. Verizon does not have cruise ship packages, the packages you describe are for in port, not on the ship. Verizon charges $2.99/min for cellular calls on a cruise ship. Texts are 50 cents and 5 cents (send/receive).

When you call Verizon or log into account that is the "travel pass" that are good in ports....no US. 5 bucks Canada and Mexico a day and only billed if used in 24 hour period. It's 10 in other countries. They have a "pay go" plan that includes cruise ships. Which is what you are referring to. They also have a 25 and 40 a month pkgs 40 a month give you 100 talk mins 100 text out unlimited in and 100mb data. The 25 makes talk 1.79 .50 sent and .05 received texts and also 100mb. The unlimited wifi added 6 bucks to my beverage pkg.

  5. The ability to use all functions on your phone (calling, SMS & MMS texting) using only a WiFI connection, with no cellular connection.

My i6 has wifi cellular capabilities and it worked PERFECT! My version charged like 40 bucks for 100 roaming mins and so many texts or 10 dollars a day unlimited. I didn't need it with the pkg on ship. Simply shut off cell data when leaving port and leave phone on it picked up all wifi available on ship and at sea and ZERO cell charges....and phone calls were crystal clear!

  6. my cruise is in 89 Days. From my CC family, I learned that there might have been a sale on the internet package, which I need for school and something about the drink package. I already learned of the dreaded change in the drink package specs that all in the cabin 21 and over must buy it for cruises beginning 2018. Anyway, I looked it up online for my cruise and sure enough, it was there. The deluxe beverage package and internet for $49/day! But, there’s always a catch, right!? It did not permit me to just get it for me. So I called. I spoke to a nice rep and explained our situation. Mom just can’t drink due to special medical issues and daughter HATES HATES HATES liquor (I can’t believe she’s my child)! The rep singled me out and I was able to get it just for me!

Did the drink internet combo on May Harmony sailing. Call your cell provider and get wifi calling activated. Loved it!

  7. Yeah, but those legitimate reasons will not help me. When I sail with a friend, she gets the alcohol package, and I get the refreshment package. I get three drinks at night loaded onto my card, and I cannot even use all those up. I have one, and if I am really pushing it.. two. Also, I do not use them every night. So now, she cannot get the alcohol package unless I do, and I am not spending money on something I will not use. Not sure that those exemptions would qualify for me.

On the other hand, besides when I cruise with her (not often) I couldn't care less. My partner and I both get the refreshment package. I am not sure this change is happening because people share, or because RCI wants more revenue. I can see either being true.

Mike, I'm promise you this is not going to be heavily enforced. I called said she's on meds and can't have more than a glass or two of wine, no questions asked! Let's face it, legally it's easier to uphold enforcement of "sharing" than it is to force someone to purchase something they don't want! Unless it's Healthcare. Lol couldn't resist!

  8. Not saying it is the case here, but I do know there was somebody that came back from allure right after the test started on Harmony sailings, and said that onboard, they had to purchase for all in the room, or none.

The first "test sailing" sailed Saturday Sept 30 on Harmony and is still at sea. Lol only ship "testing" is on at this time. I find it funny RCCL calls it a "test" for 9 weeks but able to get results prior to first "test sailing" ending. I smell a rat!

  9. Quick summary without reading all 700 posts.

This rule says - You must buy the drink package for all occupants of a cabin over 21 unless you meet a requirement that requires only a statement of fact not any documentation. Am I wrong in that the only thing this really achieves is thwarts an attempt to buy the package online? Or can you say online that you cabin mate meets such a criteria? Seems to me that if I wanted one drink package I would just buy it once on the ship.

Can you imagine a sign on the highway that said, SPEED LIMIT 65, unless you have an emergency, bought a fast car, or do not recognize the governments right to regulate your activity?

I called and got the discounted rate for only me on our Next two bookings. Pretty painless, yes, just can't book online

  10. Finally, they figured out too many people are sharing, people like this are scum, sorry but its breaking the rules and it only hurts those such as myself who are honest and go by the rules.

Ajoneen, perhaps this is new and your one of the lucky ones to be able to choose different beverage packages, I assume there be a date where it will be mandatory, thanks for the cheap cheaters. Glad you got yours and you didn't have to pay for your husband.

We sail 4-6 times a year and have since 2007 since we switched from Disney (twice a year with them from 99-07) and we were on one of the very first sailings (Majesty Jan 12) that the package was offered. I'm a biz owner in retail and consider myself very aware of my surroundings. I can't say I've seen "ravage sharing" of packages. Now I have seen more bartenders that may have received a incentive to over pour or miss pour a lot more often than people sharing drink packages. I'm sure many of you here with many sailings under your belts know what I'm talking about. I'd be curious of to how many actually purchase the package I'm always amazed that at day 3 I'm next to someone that didn't get package and they say "I should have" if there's 3000 people on a sailing and a third buy the package that 1000 or approximately 500 staterooms how many of those only want 1 package? 50? I paid 46 bucks a day on May Harmony sailing. That's 2300 a day they are "saving" in the overall scheme of things. I see more waste in the Buffett and dining room. Lol I think there something deeper here than sharing. Booze is cheep in Caribbean 750 ml gets you 25 1 1/2 oz shots/drinks. I can buy a bottle of crown for 12 bucks on the ship 50 cents a drink. I don't get the math as to why it's a big problem with "sharing". I don't think "sharing" is right, again I got package and she got soda pkg. Didn't have to I had a cup......we could make tea in out suite and put cubes in but it was the right thing to do. We get 6 Diamond drinks a night. I think they are going to automation down the road and sharing would run ramped them. Jmfo

  11. So if you are diamond and you both buy drink package, what's the point of the free nightly drinks? Is that compensated in the price? This will be my first cruise as diamond.

As if now there is no credit towards drink package as a Diamond member. It's unlimited in Diamond lounge between 5 and 830. They load 3 drinks per diamond member per day to be used anywhere on the ship except dining rooms and shows if you choose to not go to the diamond lounge...

  12. they also have absolut vodka and sprite package for 43 bucks ,Bacardi gold and coca cold package for 45 bucks,Bombay sapphire and tonic package for 48 bucks, sublime truffle collection by Le Belge Chocolatier and Domaine Ste Champagne for 49 bucks and a package called sweet delight your choice of red or white wine and they deliver to your stateroom with sugar and plum macaroons gift box assorted favors all alcohol beverages will be delivered after sailing in Texas
    or

Or 46 a day for unlimited? Pop, water, fresh squeezed oj?

  13. I just got off the phone with Royal, and was told it's in place for my Dec 21 2017 sailing. However, the cruise planner did allow me to purchase just one drink package for DD. It didn't force me to purchase one for myself. Typical with Royal, it sounds like they're saying one thing, but it's actually something different.

Yes, they are tip toeing around as not to upset loyal royal cruisers....just had conversation and it looks like there will be an implementation of incremental discounts on status...my idea 20% for platinum, 30 emerald and 50 diamond and above. I paid 46 on Harmony sailing H just got soda pkg and took advantage of Diamond lounge and 3 free glasses of wine around dinner....let's face it, at 12 bucks a glass that's 36x2 they are taking away....I'm not complaining.......we do it right but RCCL needs to make it look like they are rewarding loyal royal rather than punishing for others indiscressions. Jmho
