  1. Hi, Scapaflow.

We had the same thing a few weeks ago, we booked a cruise for September 2019 and tried to reserve a cabin but was told they couldn't do it as they had not been released yet ?? I phoned back a couple of days later and booked a cabin. I asked why I was told that I couldn't book a cabin a few days before and the operator didn't have a clue. Looks like the usual TUI/Marela wonderful communications !!

  2. Thanks Pensionercruiser, I did what you said and phoned again and managed to book the cabin I wanted, I told the operator what I experienced before and she apologised but could not explain why I was told no cabins were available. In future if I get a negative response from the operators I will try again on a different day and time

  3. I have just made a booking for the Greek Mystique cruise on Celebration for September next year. I tried to pre-book a cabin but was told the cabins are not available for booking.

I have been on about 10 Tui/ Marella cruises and have always booked over a year in advance to pre-book the cabin I want and have never had any problem. Is this a new rule ?? I asked when they would become available to book and she didn't know.

I thought this was the reason to book early to choose the cabin I wanted. Has anybody else experienced this ??

Has anybody got a phone number or email address that I can complain to. Many thanks

  4. I have just booked the Celebration for a cruise in September 2018. I wanted to book a de-luxe cabin on deck 7 like we have had before, but were told they had all been booked already, so we have booked cabin 074 on deck 8 and were told that all cabins on deck 8 had un-restricted views.

I thought the lifeboats were on deck 8 ? Can anybody give me and information on deck 8 cabins especially cabin 074

    Many thanks

  5. I have just returned from the Discovery and in the cruise news it was asking for returning Thomson passengers to register at reception which I duly did.

My wife and I were invited to a champagne reception with the captain and officers, it was quite a nice little surprise.

Last year on the Spirit we were invited to the bridge to meet the captain for a champagne reception and tour. That's the only recognition for returning cruisers we have received after 8 cruises

  6. Hi,

I am booked on the Discovery in September and after looking at some of the other posts realised that day 5 was another sea day missing out La Spezia. I emailed Thomsons 3 times before I got a reply and they have assured me that we are stopping at Marina Di Carrara which is just up the coast from La Spezia. They told me that the website is incorrect as it still has day 5 as another sea day, but they are unable to fix the website at this time. They said customers would receive emails in due course.

  7. I booked the Discovery Med. secrets earlier in the year on Discovery, and looking at the Thomson booking website for this cruise, La Spezia has now been taken out with no alternative and it shows 2 sea days. I am very disappointed as I have been on many Thomson cruises and choose them for their ports of call. 2 sea days on a 7 day cruise is obviously a cost cutting exercise and I have sent a strongly worded email to Thomson asking if I will be getting any compensation ?

  8. We flew with Thomsons in May and downloaded our e-tickets. When we got to Gatwick we had to join the usual queue, there was no separate queue for e-tickets. When we got to the desk she ripped up our e-tickets and produced the normal cardboard ones ... what a complete waste of time and money printing our own tickets.

  9. Just booked cruise on Celebration. After looking at what reviews I could find I have plumped for Cabin 084 on deck 8. My TA did explain it was partly obscured view, which is OK with me. However she also told me cabin 146 on deck 7 was available. Does anyone know if this would be a better choice in terms of view and noise etc.

If I do decide to change will Thomson charge me any extra; I have aleready paid the £42?

    Thanks,

    Jim

We were in cabin 111 on deck 7 it had 2 windows and the only obstruction was a lifeboat above the window, but the view straight out was unobstructed. It was a lovely cabin, lots of space, 6 large drawers, 2 large wardrobes, the bathroom had a bath with shower, lots of space and cupboards, bath robes, tea/coffee making facilities, and it was very quiet.
