Doug, glad to hear the captain is back. Is he the same captain who showed up briefly at the party? RMSSeadog suggested we are getting a new captain on Feb 3? Glad you find the ship a lot better than some recent reviewers have indicated. I trust your judgment. We leave in two days to join you. Thanks again for maintaining this thread.

Why do people need to see the captain , surely it doesn't effect your holiday , I would prefer him to be concentrating on making the ship run smoothly rather than walking around chatting to passengers .

I hope we don't meet him .

We are on the SE Asia cruise in Feb 2014. Is it easy to get the Vietnam visa on the ship. What process do you need to go through. At this stage we are researching each port of call but we normally tend to do our own thing rather than the ships excursions. :rolleyes:

Thanks for the infomation , we don't plan on doing celebrity tours we like to adventure ourself , do you know if we need passport photos for day visits we dont plan to Stay overnight.

Visas are $35 if not staying overnight in Vietnam.

 

If overnight in port, they cost $50 and a passport photo is required.

We will be on Feb 17th cruise. Thank you so much for taking vacation time to tell us your side of the story. We have read so many horror story since Millie is in Asia that it's becoming nearly a joke.

 

We laughed so much about a few things you said:

• German??? you'l have to tell us more about this!
  
• No onion? wait till you order escargot!
  
• We did try to order from the MDR in Aqua: No possibility. That's why we don't take aqua anymore.
  
• Try to break the blody PA before we get on board.. :D
  

Question:

• The shuttle in Singapour: does it take you downtown?

You DEFINITELY need a visa in Vietnam, but you can obtain them on board.

We are sailing on the millennium on the 17/2/13 , first time on a celebrity cruise is there lots to do day and night times .

Do you know if we need any visas , we will be stopping in Hong Kong, 3 stops in Vietnam , Bangkok and Singapore .:):)
