A contactless card should have a logo on it that looks something like this:

    contactless-payment-icon.png

    Touching in/out:

    • On the Tube, Elizabeth Line, National Rail (within the London fare area), Thames Clipper ferries, and the cable car at Greenwich: touch in on the reader as you enter through the gate, touch out at the gate as you leave.
    • On the DLR, the same applies but you must remember to look for and use a reader because there are no gates - and it can be easy to forget.
    • On the bus, touch in as you board, but do not touch out when you alight.
    • On Tramlink, it's the same as a bus, except for special arrangements at Wimbledon.

If you're using a contactless card, then after the end of the fare day TfL reviews all of your travel for the day and sends one charge to your bank. TfL will apply all caps etc before it does so, including the proper fare for a journey that requires you to change trains by exiting one station and entering another (eg Tower Hill <--> Tower Gateway). The fare day begins at 0430 each day and ends at 0429 the following day.

    Fantastic detail!! Thanks!!

Thanks for this review.  We are thinking of booking a tour with Lawrence.  It sounds like his tours are quite popular.  How long in advance should I book?  Do you prepay or pay on the day of the tour?

He was very responsive by email … I reserved about 6 weeks in advance. We paid at the completion of the trip.

Which tour did you select? And how much did it cost?

Lawrence doesn’t have any prices listed on his webpage.

    Thanks!

He tailored it to what we wanted (skipped rain forest to see the devils bridge and get more time on beach)… at the time we went it was $50/pp (would have been less if we didn’t want the beach time)…. He was pretty responsive to email … here was the listing of the tour that we used as a starting place to decide what was important to us … http://www.lawrenceofantigua.com/islandtour.php

  5. We just returned from our cruise and had the pleasure of taking an island tour with Lawrence of Antigua. We received a lovely island tour with Lawrence providing information about the island and its people. We requested a snorkel beach to end the tour ... he took us to Long Bay Beach and waited there for us  ...  the best snorkeling!! A great reef with food truck and shops on the beach. He has a nice van with room for 12, good air conditioning  and he provides drinks during the  ride. You wont be sorry lawrenceofantigua@gmail.com

  6. just getting back into cruising after retiring ... we did have a helpful CN agent on our previous cruise that was happy to book the cruise that I had already decided on  ... i'm curious though ... what are the certificates many of you are mentioning? (working towards status ... but not there yet)

  7. We also hit muster station as we board… so much improved process!!! We grab a quick bite at the buffet. Then we also tour the ship looking for hangout spots … preferred venues… how to get from spot to spot … depending on the ship we’re either settled in the solarium or hanging out up too for sail away.

  8. different issue ... but we also had a cruise cancelled. i also noticed when i was looking at beverages/etc.

My TA is an angel ... has apparently gotten it worked out ... but still nobody can explain how it happened ....

apparently another travel agent, that I have never contacted, changed my booking on the same day that I made final payment ... that triggered a higher price, and since I didnt know about it, didnt get any notice ... I didnt pay the additional fee and RC cancelled the cruise ... and kept $900. Said they refunded the difference ... but it didnt show up in our account for over a week ... still waiting to get the $900 reapplied to the cruise ... RC said they would grant our booking price ... trusting it will happen ... but leaving a very bad taste for the line that doesnt communicate!

How does another travel agent get our booking number and change our requested cabin ... and then when the change is made we get NO NOTICE!!

  9. I know nothing of their classes … but owned and taught a sip and paint business and had 1500 students over the years, most of which said the same thing on their first visit … but with a good teacher you do not to be creative on your own … just able to follow instruction.
