  1. My daughter and I are leaving on Monday on Mariner of the Seas. We arrive at the Orlando International Airport at 9:30 am. Could you please share the best way for us to travel to the port? We also will be traveling with my 10 year old grandson. I know that we could Uber, cab, etc. I assume there should be fellow cruisers that can share which transportation would work best for us.

    Thank you for any suggestions,

    Trish

  2. My daughter and grandson will be in Nassau 2nd weekend in September and would like to take Grandson to swim with the dolphins! Are there any recommendations that you could share. We have looked at Atlantis and Blue Lagoon which both places offer it. It seems to be a little more expensive at Atlantis but we are ok with that. He is 10 and it is his birthday and we want it to be a memorable experience for him. Please give me any information or advice on anywhere in Nassau that we don’t know about. I know the ship offers excursions and we haven’t book it yet.

    Thanks,

    Trish

  3. Thank you for all of your thoughts on this. I was just worried about my grandson being on the cruise and I certainly didn't mean to cause any issues with my questions. I really just had concerns. I always know I can come to Cruise Critic and find a lot of good information regarding cruise questions.

  4. Thank you for all of your input and information. He is not in a cast but can't put any weight on the leg for 8-12 weeks, that being said he will definitely will need to use a walker or wheel chair during the cruise. I did call DCL but they didn't seem to suggest any reason to change his room to Handicap Accessible.

They said they would put in for him to have a shower chair to put in the tub. Should I call and insist on to be moved? He is only 6 years old so his chair is small for a child of his age.

  5. Hi All,

My grandson broke his femur bone on Sunday and had to have surgery. We are scheduled to go on Disney Dream on Sept. 30th for 3 days. He is currently in wheel chair and using a walker. Dr. said he didn't see any reason why medically he couldn't still go. He is not in a cast and his stitches will be removed on Sept. 26 when at that time he will be able to get his leg wet. Has anyone been on cruise with a child who will be medically challenged in wheel chair? It is his birthday cruise and he so wants to go. My daughter has the protection plan and can certainly rescheduled the cruise because of a medical issue but his cousins are going and he was so excited to be going. Please give me any information that you may know to help with making the decision to still go on this cruise. Thank you

  6. Hello to all,

I am traveling on the Dream on Sept. 30th with two of my grandchildren who has a birthday on the ship. I have heard that if you let cruise line know before hand which I have that they will serve birthday cake at dinner for the child. Is this true? I don't want to pre order a cake if they do. Also, if you know of any thing else that may be done for them that would be helpful. Also, my daughter and husband will be on during their anniversary too! I guess we will be partying for the whole cruise!!

  7. Fellow Cruisers,

I am thinking about stay at the Radisson Resort at Port Canaveral for my Disney Cruise in Sept. I would like to know if there were any issues getting shuttles to cruise port and especially getting shuttle back to hotel when leaving ship. I would like to get on the road as quickly as possible coming back home. Our port time to check in is 11:15 A.M. day of cruise. Please give me your advice if you have done this before.

    Thanks,

    Trish

  8. My husband and I will be going on our first Disney Cruise on Sept. 30 to the Bahamas. I have been told and read on the internet that you can carry on alcohol in a carry on bag as long as it is not packed in your checked luggage. Is the true or false?

We are planning on taking water, 2 uncorked bottles of wine but just wasn't sure about alcohol beverages. Would like to know for sure before we set sail.

    Thanks,

    Trish

  9. My DH and I have rented a golf cart in Grand Turks. We have never been there before and was hoping to get some good information of your prior experiences there if you had a golf cart. Where to go? Can you stop and park the cart? Any info would be helpful. We reserved with Karibs and according to the info we have they are set up right outside the cruise terminal.

We will be in GT on Nov.6th and thought this would be a great way to see the island!

  10. I received an email from Princess last night of giving my husband and I a room upgrade. We have been assigned to C740/D4 Aft section of ship. I would like to know if anyone has stayed in this room? I do know it is directly on the very AFT of ship where you are actually facing the wake of ship. We did not choose our room and only paid for a standard balcony room and this room is a deluxe which is great! Any comments would be appreciated. Sailing on Nov. 3.

  11. My DH and I will be leaving for our cruise on the Victory next Thursday. I have been watching the board on the Victory's dry dock 2.0 upgrades and from what I have read not to much was done at all. We are on the Panorama Deck in room 1023 and I am happy with my room but I wished the rooms were updated along with bathrooms. I chose the cruise because it was a short getaway with two port stops. I have sailed on Carnival before but recently started sailing on RC. It is a great cruise line and with loved our last cruise. I hope I will not be disappointed in choosing the Victory this time. If you sailed on her after dry dock and could give me some information of any updates were added, please let me know. I know it will be nice to get away on any cruise ship! I have been reading a lot of negatives and I know there must be some positives as well. Thank you for any input you could share with me! I read a review yesterday of how terrible this ship is and that it was dirty and needed to go into dry dock. Talk about putting doubts on choosing this ship. I have sailed on Carnival a number of times and always had a great experience. I know that Cruise Critic is a good tool for information about cruising but sometimes maybe some folks go to the extreme! If you have sailed on her recently please share with me your experiences......

  13. I am Flying into Fort Lauderdale Airport on April 23 with a party of 4. Please give me the safest and quickest transportation to the Port of Miami. I have seen several ways to get there and they all look fine but I need your feedback. We will need to return the same way for a flight out as well. I did call the Port of Miami and Customer Service said taxi which I know there are other ways. We had thought of car rental but then we would need to drop of car and the port informed me that there is no drop off there. I am so confused. Carnival will transport to and from for $120.00 for 2 people which I thought was a little pricey.

    Any suggestions I would appreciate!

  14. My DH and I will be cruising on the Carnival Victory on April 23. I am planning on purchasing the Cheers package for myself but my husband is a recovering Alcoholic. I read on Carnival's website that anyone that shares a stateroom must purchase the Cheers package. Is this correct?

  15. My DH and I will be cruising on the Carnival Victory on April 23 out of the Port of Miami. Although our flight is arriving at the Fort Lauderdale airport at 8:30 a.m. day of cruise. Can you please let me know if you have used a reliable service to shuttle you to the Miami Port? There are also 2 other friends that are traveling with us so we will need transportation for 4. I also would like to know if they will stop along the way for us to pick up water, soft drinks and a couple of bottles of wine. I would like to carry on these items on board but I am taking a flight in for my cruise. Thank you for any advice you could share with me. I would like to finalize our transportation on this soon.

  16. I finally got my room assignment on the Carnival Victory! I am in room 1023 on the Panorama Deck. My DH and I have never been that high up on a ship. I noticed the section only has about 66 rooms. Is this a good location to be? Will you feel the movement of the ship? It looks like when you leave the room you are close to the outdoor deck with slide and pools. If you have stayed on this deck could you share some information with me? I usually stay either aft or mid ship but never up as high on ship. My DH feels that we are away from a lot of things but I don't know. We leave on April 23th after the Victory's dry dock. Anyway, being on a cruise is always great no matter where you are located!!

  17. Has anyone ever had this (1023) room before? Carnival assigned my room but I chose a balcony. I looked at the deck plan and it is up any only a small number of rooms on that deck. Please share if you have stayed in this room.

    I can't wait! Sail in 29 days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:)

  18. My husband and I have a cruise booked for April 23, 2015. This will be the first time that we did not to our stateroom selection. We did choose a balcony room but agreed to let Carnival assign our stateroom. I am really nervous about this. The ship only had a few balcony rooms left and the price was much higher. My question is will I find out what are assignment will be before we sail? Or will it be when we check in the day of cruise? Any info will be much appreciated.

  19. I will be on the Liberty of the Seas for 5 days next week. I was wondering if I need to take my hair dryer from home or does RCCL provide them in the state rooms? We actually have a balcony room not a suite. I had seen something on the message board that they do but want to make sure if I leave it at home.

    Thanks for any info!

  20. CruiseeCrazee, you really know your math and I just shared you reply with my DH and he said that we certainly would tend to drink more having the package verse not having. I like the idea of not having to worry about one day I over done it and then the next day try and compensate because I spent to much the day before. The way I look at it with this you can justify drinking whatever, how many and feel great. It is like being on a all-exclusive vacation!!
